this country is really going downhill. have they learned nothing???????? no.......of course not.......not capable of that. personally, i will be taking regular breaks from LOS every year now, that way, I might fall back in love with the place. the 60 day visa with 30 day extension is a game changer as far as i am concerned. can lose my O visa, and utilise my 800k for some decent travel. Exchange rate is pants now also.........

I had the same experience earlier this year in Da Nang. Horrendous Karaoke from a house near to my Airbnb. It was just ridiculously loud. Remedy..........hooked up laptop to tv in the room. Went to You Tube, found a video of heavy rain.........turned it up full blast.........completely drowned out the noise. Drifted off to sleep listening to the rain......bliss.

get yourself a Thai woman, buy food from markets, Makro, etc, get her to cook, will be tastier and more healthy. Tell her not to add MSG or sugar. my food tastes great.

I no longer Tip, and if the restaurant are showing net prices and then add 10 and 7percent, i dont eat there........simple as. times have changed now. i pay the price, and that is it.

Thai drivers do not know what a Zebra crossing is, because they are not taught the Highway Code as we are in the Real world. They dont know what it is. Same as a red light on a Zebra crossing.......to them its a pretty light that shines 2 colours, red and green. Take into account also, the Me, me, me attitude of Thais in general. No one else matters........dont get in my way....especially if you are walking or on 2 wheels.

I live Hua Hin. I am from UK, also living on Pension, but I have additional income for now also. When you plan, do so with a worse case scenario regarding exchange rate. For example, look at how many baht you spend each month now. Then do a conversion using the worse case scenario. ie. 40,000 a month at 40 baht. Is this going to be affordable? If not, look at other options.........but there are not many to find that are better than Thailand. I went to Da Nang in Vietnam as I had heard how great it was. In my opinion.........its the opposite. Its the worst place i have been in SE Asia. Wont go into why, have not got time..........but everything was <deleted>e. Maybe another place in Vietnam would be better.......but for sure, it was NOT cheaper than Thailand.
