I'm starting to plan extra rooms for my house. One problem I have is that I have audio conferences and need a room where I can not hear anything from oitside. At the moment, I hear dogs barking and off course motorbikes.
Does the noise come through the walls of the windows?
Should I plan to have some sort of sound proofing bricks or stuff in the wall, dies double glazing keep the noise out?
No need to go crazy. The best way of isolating interference is to have a clip on lavalier type microphone when you conference. It should pick up very little sound except your voice.
By all means use double glazing/triple glazing etc but benefits will not exceed the cost.
Run the mic through an app like Krisp and voila

None of the 2000 trial participants died, that is the big take, not that is not as effective. Who cares if you get a cold, so long as you don't die?

Another lazy poster diving in to bash without even reading the article.
What is covax? Does Thailand qualify?
What are you talking about? Thailand does not want to join Covax. It has said so many times, so yes, Thailand will be left behind

Long article in Financial Times yesterday.
Short summary: AZ is an incredible mess.
The phase 3 clinical studies:
Some people by accident got half first dose
Some people got the second dose much later than originally planned (UK now uses this approach)
Old people were not included, so no data (that's why several EU countries don't use it over 55/60/65)
Because of this mess, not yet approved in US and Switzerland. Both want better data.
Production:
Glitches at different production sites. They promised 3 billion doses, that was too much.
Impurities found by regulators.
Politics:
They basically vaccinate Britons, not Europeans like Spaniards or Portuguese. Schadenfreude on the British side, less so on the continent.
Very poor communication.
Details are a lot more complicated, above is a generalization.
Some people ask: can we trust this company about quality control? About the safety (AZ says, it's DNA vaccine is not integrated into the human genome)?
BTW as of today, much reduced efficacy against South Africa variant
The only relevant fact is that it works well. The rest is just waffle

I don't get the daily field hospital updates and case updates, while cases seem to be going down, field hospital beds are going up, a lot!
Just bad planning or have govt decided to wait and see what happens?

No mention of the cluster in Maha Sarakham. 21 cases at least there, with another 1695 tests pending

A draconian communist government with the worse human rights abuse in all of SEA. But yeah they amazing anti xenophobic ????
Both of those statements can be true at the same time.

They do understand the problem then, but seem unable or unwilling to fix it

I think Thailands Xenophobia stops it from joining FTA's so easily. Vietnam is very forward looking compared to backward looking Thailand

With the majority arriving in the first 2 months and slowing down in March before the borders slammed shut. Is this any surprise to those of us who live here and see the effects that Covid had had. There is no other way to put it except to say "Tourism is in a Coma"
"Tour-ism in a coma, I know, I know, it's very serious..."

These daily numbers mean nothing. Pulled out of the air, no consistency and no proper attempt to organise

Question for the experts (not the laymen) 'Is this a correct comment?'
Israel research is showing that in the real world positive tests drop quite dramatically amongst those who have been vaccinated, so I think this is just scientists being very cautious.

Haven't read the whole thread, but wouldn't a compactor help? Just for the plastics etc

Will be watching to see who gets it

This is happening just as I predicted. Thailand will still be at the beginning of vaccination for it’s own citizens and still essentially closed off, whilst its tourist base nears full vaccination.
What happens then? Still quarantine? Who knows really?

Wasn’t a certain sycophant poster, just telling everyone off for their kneejerk paranoia and Thai bashing comments?
This is why people are sceptical!

From the photo it looks like they are doing temperature screening which is a total waste of time. Most asymptomatic carriers won't have a temperature, even those with symptoms might not have a fever except at the very beginning of the infection
