Thailand never stops surprising. What a bizarre country it is. 

What is the reason for these men being in full dress uniform? Why do they even have full dress uniform? What are all those medals for when Thailand has never ever been in combat?

That's right, 100% focus on migrant workers and let Thai's go about their business as normal because this is spread by migrants only. They really cannot stop themselves from being massive racists can they?

Sensible move, wish we did similar at some times. The so called new variant was first reported to the WHO in September, so pretty sure it will already be in France, heck they probably sent it over in one of their dinghies

Did we miss the most important figure? 50% of those tested were positive? That is huge, and only goes to show what many have been saying, that Thailands low positive covid figures are just down to a lack of serious testing.

Also most of those testing positive are asymptomatic so they could have been spreading it for weeks already, obviously there are mechanisms at work in Thailand that have not lead to a surge in hospitalisations, or the media would have hopefully picked up on it.

Still no reason to go full panic mode yet

What is this guy on? The Thai economy relies too much on export and Tourism? Exporting is one of the major ways any country increases its wealth, it is one of the most important economic factors there is. And as for Tourism, without it Thailand would be as poor as Cambodia or Laos are now. Trillions of dollars from tourism have flowed into the country in a one way free for all

Come on Thailand! Any vehicle this polluting should be seized and put in the compactor with no appeal. Drivers of polluting vehicles cannot be allowed to just keep doing what they want

Samui is one of the worst places in Thailand, worse than Phuket even because you can't just drive away when it becomes too much. I for one will be glad to see the end of this miserable dump. What happened there over the past 30 years is an abhorrent example of rampant unfettered greed. Into the sea with it

Expect the vacant slots will be snapped up by competitors quite quickly. Thailand not likely to suffer from this, nor customers flying to Bangkok

Give it a few years and the Chinese will be all over this New Hong Kong once called Phuket
