Have a feeling that this pollution is year round, but only visible during the cool season, something to do with the cold weather rather than increasing pollution patterns

Another Thailand is a laughing stock story. Just stupid and not based in the slightest on any science

This really is idiotic. Picking up a starfish or other marine inhabitants bar coral, does no harm. Scientists have to do this when they survey reefs, the creatures are in no danger and do not suffer.

Turned into a disaster as the company doing it were supposed to be quoting for the whole lot ie beam piles and concrete finish, now they say its just the piles and beam which have been put in badly not deep enough should be 2metres and some are just 50cm and theyve walked off the job.............ongoing in another thread, theyve had 75k and Im not paying out anymore for the paltry work theyve done.
Sorry to hear that.

Who will be left to test it on? Lots of under 21's I suppose, but most everyone else will have been vaccinated by then

This thread is proof Chang rots the brain!
so many falsehoods it’s hard to quite know where to start. Suffice to say no medical body would approve a vaccine that was knowingly dangerous or that had not been through the same rigorous testing all vaccines are subject to.
if you don’t understand this or how it could possibly be true, suggest you ask someone a bit smarter than you are to explain-

The US approach to who gets vaccine first seems very odd when compared to UK. Essential workers coming before old and infirm seems like a strange decision

Can someone please explain how a 4% growth rate from -7.8% becomes a +4% growth rate, shouldn't it still be -3.8% relative?
Or do they actually mean growth will be 11.8% to take it into +4% growth?
Thai grasp of economics is always confusing

As usual, another disjointed article that fails to explain why student numbers are falling and why they are performing so badly. Sort of what you'd expect from someone who went through the very education system they are writing about.
I would have thought the Thai notion of saving face would prevent them from turning out lots and lots of uneducated imbeciles, and they would want to be top of the regional pile, and proud of their education system.

Which one is STV again? So many variations on a theme
Anyway, while Thailand is leaking Covid cases at its borders, it might as well let in lots of farangs from covid infested islands so the media and DP Anutin will have someone to blame when another lockdown happens

Thai furniture in comparison to say Bali furniture is impressively sturdy, but not very comfortable, over bulky and far far too heavy. OK if you want your furniture to outlive you I guess.

So, you just come to the end of your quarantine, and get infected by the visiting health officials . Couldn't make it up could you.
This. They should explain where she worked, because if anyone at the ASQ hotel tested positive after her visit, they need to know

If you spread lies and conspiracy theories about vaccines you are a plonker, if you believe lies and conspiracy theories about vaccines, you are a plonker, if you die because you didn't take a vaccine when offered, you are, guess what? A plonker, a dead dead plonker

Worth pointing out again that the "Green" movement is not altogether clued in on where copper/lithium etc actually comes from. Copper is vital for "green" apparatus such as batteries and wiring in these wonderful world saving new technologies like electric cars and wind turbines. Copper is also generally mined in open cast pits on a colossal scale. An ugly scar on the landscape doesn't even start to describe this trapping of modern green-ness. Subsidies and grants muddy the waters so much that determining which technology between fossil fuels and fashionable modern alternatives is better for the environment is nigh on impossible.
Best solution. Give Rio Tinto the land, let them mine it dry, then fill in the hole with dirt or water and hand the land back to the Indians. The greens get their batteries and wiring, and the Indians only have some short term inconvenience, and the Rio shareholders get ever larger dividends. Win, win, win.
There is no conflict. RTZ might as well ask to knock down the Vatican because there is ore underneath, it amounts to the same thing

The vaccine being purchased by theThailand Government does NOT have a 100% efficacy rate (as you point out) so the problem will NOT go away as you claim..or do you not give a hoot about those potential 40% of the population (26.8 million) being infected.

It does not matter if it is not 100% efficient, that's not how vaccines work. They work because herd immunity is reached so stopping transmission of any disease through any given population.

The AstraZeneca vaccine that Thailand is buying has yet to have any field studies (that I can find on google) and the clinical trial was botched.
Yeah glad Iam not a guinea pig getting an arm full of this jungle juice.
What a completely ridiculous thing to say... of course getting the entire Thailand population vaccinated *will* make the problem go away, that is the whole point. Vaccines work and they prevent disease getting a foothold at anything over 60% efficacy

Why they take the AstraZenica vaccine?
As I read it has "only" 70% success rate.
The Moderna and the BioNTech vaccine has over 95%.
Someone know more?
Vaccines only need a 60-70% success rate to stop spread of infection almost completely

After Admitting Mistake, AstraZeneca Faces Difficult Questions About Its Vaccine
Some trial participants only got a partial dose of AstraZeneca’s vaccine. Experts said the company’s spotty disclosures have eroded confidence.
...
Officials in the United States have noted that the results were not clear. It was the head of the flagship federal vaccine initiative — not the company — who first disclosed that the vaccine’s most promising results did not reflect data from older people.
The upshot, the experts said, is that the odds of regulators in the United States and elsewhere quickly authorizing the emergency use of the AstraZeneca vaccine are declining, an unexpected setback in the global campaign to corral the devastating pandemic.
“I think that they have really damaged confidence in their whole development program,” said Geoffrey Porges, an analyst for the investment bank SVB Leerink.

Scaremongering. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this vaccine, the only problems seem to be surrounding it's efficacy, but even at it's lower limit of 60% it is easily good enough to do the job it has to do
