The AstraZeneca vaccine that Thailand is buying has yet to have any field studies (that I can find on google) and the clinical trial was botched.
Yeah glad Iam not a guinea pig getting an arm full of this jungle juice.
What a completely ridiculous thing to say... of course getting the entire Thailand population vaccinated *will* make the problem go away, that is the whole point. Vaccines work and they prevent disease getting a foothold at anything over 60% efficacy

Why they take the AstraZenica vaccine?
As I read it has "only" 70% success rate.
The Moderna and the BioNTech vaccine has over 95%.
Someone know more?
Vaccines only need a 60-70% success rate to stop spread of infection almost completely

After Admitting Mistake, AstraZeneca Faces Difficult Questions About Its Vaccine
Some trial participants only got a partial dose of AstraZeneca’s vaccine. Experts said the company’s spotty disclosures have eroded confidence.
...
Officials in the United States have noted that the results were not clear. It was the head of the flagship federal vaccine initiative — not the company — who first disclosed that the vaccine’s most promising results did not reflect data from older people.
The upshot, the experts said, is that the odds of regulators in the United States and elsewhere quickly authorizing the emergency use of the AstraZeneca vaccine are declining, an unexpected setback in the global campaign to corral the devastating pandemic.
“I think that they have really damaged confidence in their whole development program,” said Geoffrey Porges, an analyst for the investment bank SVB Leerink.

Scaremongering. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this vaccine, the only problems seem to be surrounding it's efficacy, but even at it's lower limit of 60% it is easily good enough to do the job it has to do

Hi, in 2 weeks I will fly to Bangkok. I will be using a connecting flight , and depart london in the early evening.
I was wondering if anyone who had travelled to Thailand, from London could recommend a Covid test and Fit to fly service.
The reason I ask is that most seem to offer two services, a "results within 2 days" PCR test, but this would cut things very fine due to the timing. If my flight was delayed it would go over the 72 hours. Also, although it says 72 hours prior to leaving London, there is also the possibility that I could have problems on the transit connection perhaps?, as by the point of arrival there, I will over the 72 hours.
It seems the 24 hour tests are not fully accredited to the same level as the 2 day ones.
I was wondering if anyone who has left London for Thailand could say whether they have used these 24 hours tests and been fine or not?, and if so , could recommend one
Many thanks
Michael

Stopped staying there in about 2003, but have often had to go back to visit friends who visit who always want to stay there for some reason. KSR itself was never good even back then, but some of the surrounding roads were OK for a night watching the crowds.
For all it's bad points and there are lots, it created a sense of welcoming to many first time visitors and I am sure a few Thai's became multi millionaires milking the backpackers for every satang they had.

China is most definitely the one country in the whole world that will continue to make the whole Asian region unstable by their constant childish incursions into other nations territories. The CCP are a threat not just to SE Asia but to the whole world as they attempt to steal, coerce and bully anything they want.
The world should have had a coordinated response to their aggression in South China Sea and needs to be ready to support Taiwan should it come to it

I am sure all those European citizens who die within the next month will be glad they didn't risk taking a vaccine with only 120* steps of risk assessment over one with 165* steps

For all you know it has aborted fetal tissue from all those abortions. Ask the officials for a full ingredient list and see if they will even acknowledge your question as valid.

It might be a good idea to start mass testing in Chiang Rai if the Burmese border is leaking as badly as it seems

It does not matter if it is not 100% efficient, that's not how vaccines work. They work because herd immunity is reached so stopping transmission of any disease through any given population.
