Rotterdam Stabbing Rampage Knifeman shouted "Allahu Akbar"
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
"These guys reckon we are fools allowing Muslims to integrate into western society. " Yes totally agree with your sentiment, the thing is they DON'T integrate or assimilate into western society? That seems to be a huge part of the problem? -
BBC Admits Past Lapses in Addressing Celebrity Misconduct
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I disagree, although a tad on the melodramatic side, I thought is was quite accurate. From the GOV.UK website: "You need a TV Licence to watch or record programmes on a TV, computer or other device as they're broadcast, and to watch on-demand BBC programmes on iPlayer" So you DO NEED a TV license if the above applies to you. So in that case you are indeed having to pay for perverts! -

BBC Admits Past Lapses in Addressing Celebrity Misconduct

"During an interview with the BBC’s Amol Rajan at the Royal Television Society conference, Davie reflected on the impact of these scandals. "There is no doubt that an affair like this impacts our reputation." What a huge understatement, the BBC lost its reputation completely after the Saville scandal. Why the British public have to pay for these perverts in the BBC is beyond comprehension. -

Yes, but it affects different people in different ways. It doesn't turn everyone into agressive idiots like the two in the OP. -
"Their protest, which involved recruiting others to block traffic by climbing structures along the M25 motorway, caused widespread disruption across four days in November 2022. Prosecutors claimed that more than 700,000 drivers were impacted, with economic damages exceeding £760,000 ($980,000) and £1 million ($1.3 million) in police costs." They should be forced to pay back all costs associated with the protest and then put in prison for 5 years as a lesson to others!

Netherlands Introducing Toughest Asylum Policy in EU
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Netherlands definitely has the right idea, deportations will be the order of the day! Other European countries apart from Poland and Hungary are in deep doo doo, over their policies, including the UK of course, which is no longer in Europe. -

Sadiq Khan Advocates for Prioritizing Prisoners in Housing Queue
mikeymike100 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
"Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, has sparked debate with his recent proposal that prisoners should be given priority in the housing queue to help reduce reoffending rates. " Why am I not shocked??? Maybe if they didn't offend in the first place there wouldn't be this problem? -

World’s best hotel: Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental steals the show

The Sun "moves across the sky" because the Earth spins. The Sun is moving as are all stars and planets and galaxies! I asked Galileo and he agreed! -
World’s best hotel: Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental steals the show
mikeymike100 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Certainly agree about the rooms being rather small and also the Thai food being westernized. I believe one of the best attributes the hotel has is the service, which is absolutely excellent. When I had lunch there, with some coworkers, outside, they had these large umbrellas to shade you from the Sun. Of course the Sun is moving across the sky, so every 5 minutes or so, staff would come and move the umbrellas. to keep the shade in the right place. So I inquired how many staff the hotel has, after we had finished the meal i was escorted to the front desk and met the Manager, who told me they have 2.5 members of staff to every guest! -
