  1. I've read all previous comments. One thing that hasn't been mentioned. You cannot die from a dope overdose. More to that no one has died from a dope overdose simply because you can't. Alcohol you can and nicotine you can.
  2. Glaucoma. Very addictive? This is debatetable. Answer to life? 'Alcohol is the anaesthesia by which we endure the operation of life. ' George Bernard Shaw. One could replace alcohol with marijuana in this quote. "Research findings from as early as the 1970s show that both marijuana and THC reduce intraocular pressure, a key contributor to glaucoma." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK224386/
  3. ".... seems to have lost....". No seems to about it. They were totally massacred. As for the tax well this is what happens with thought bubble policy. "Here's a good idea. Let's do this." Several months later: "Mmmm? Seems like it's unworkable."
  4. So this is Sat Jun 1 3 and Mon Jun 3 5 is a public holiday in lieu of so are both of these days alcohol purchasing ban days? Notice I didn't say drinking because for some reason you can drink alcohol but stores/restaurants/bars etc are banned from selling it? Sorry got the dates wrong. I think Sat you can't buy and Mon you can.
  5. What does subsequent life mean vis a vis karma?
  6. Yes you are right. Energy can only be converted. We are made of matter and that matter decays when we die. There is no evidence where the energy of our decaying matter goes. Only conjecture. Again if reicarnation exists show me the evidence.
  7. Fairly sure I've been posting my 'belief' is in rational and evidence based reality. If I haven't I apologise. Could you show me where please? If you're talking about we are all created from star dust then ok fair enough and after we're done our molecules move on. Fair enough. This, however, does not mean reincarnation in the Buddhist sense.
  8. Saw a homeless person the other day with so many amulets I was amazed he could stand up straight. They obviously work.
  9. Perogitive of proof is not on my side. Show me actual proof and I might change my mind. As for life energy that goes when we do. Our life has finished and so has our body. That's it. Any toughts of something happening after is in the realm of the supernatural and is in no way provable.
  10. Don't believe in Christmas in the religious sense.
  11. Is reincarnation supernatural? Where is Nirvana.?
  12. Thinking that myself. Just the one day I reckon where all good Buddhists will stock up the day before.
  13. How many of them have gone into monkhood to avoid a jail sentence? How many are boys that have to go same as conscription?
  14. Can you please supply evidence, as you state, of reincarnation and for that matter Nirvana? Not from a book or teachings from Buddha but real concrete evidence. I bet you can't.
  15. Basically none of your business.
  16. What makes you think it was one?
  17. Silly comment. You have a right to your beliefs as much as I have a right to mine. Mine just happens to be a total non-belief in the supernatural and a belief in evidence backed reality.
  18. Exactly right. As I've been saying vested interests want this to remain so. Sorry they want dope to be criminalised again. Mind you Bt500 for a gram is IMO a crime.
  19. I'm sorry but I think maybe you misunderstand something. Most people don't care about 'medical' dope. Marijuana has been available to buy (not legally until recently of couse) since I've been here and not too long before that you could buy it from the Chinese 'pharmacies' (legally). It's this whole war on drugs charade that costs billions, costs lives, locks up people and let's those who run things to continue to rake in the money that's the problem. Ice is a great drug but it's highly addictive and very destructive once addicted. Cocaine is amazing but again highly addictive. Heroin if pure is fantastic but again very addictive if you let it be so. Opium, extremely laid back drug but again very addictive. Dope is just a nice drug on it's own and and less harmful from the previous drugs I've mentioned and also less harmful than alcohol or tabacco. It should not be put into the same basket.
  20. What! The wet season started mid May. Or was it last Monday? Or is it this week? Or is it ...................................................................................................................................? Please wait for the next definitive 'update/projection/guess' from the
  21. Yeh Right! I've bought dope from a monk. You obviously have no idea what goes on out of the view of the head monk AKA the boss with lots of money.
  22. I have a "beef" as you say with all religions or anything else that believes in the supernatural. If you can't prove it exists it doesn't. I can't remember the big monk's name but he was basically auctioning off tickets to Nirvana. More you pay, better your chances. ps. My mother didn't shape my religion. She gave me a choice when I was very young. "You can belive in this or not." I chose not to. Thanks Mum. I've grown up to be a rational, free thinker.
  23. And this is a doctor. It really is a shame that ignorance prevails. Thais are thaught to believe what they are told even if what they are told is complete rubbish. They know no difference. Deffinitely the old keep the mushrooms in the dark and feed the ####. I still occasionally see Thais wearing bandanas around their face to 'protect them' from covid. Absolutely 100% no idea. There's misinformation and then there's no information. Thais are fed a diet of both when it comes to dope.
  24. I agree with what you say except for "politics is as politics does." Personally I would substitute politics with ignorance.
  25. Good on her but the fact remains that absolutelty ZERO military backed, ultra conservative, royalist parties managed even one seat in BKK. This is such an overwhelming vote of no confidence in the current regime and at the same time an overwhelming vote for change. This change is now in the hands of 250 unelected, military planted senators. How can this be democracy at work? Quite simply it can't. This is 'democracy' Prayut style.
