  1. That's a good attitude to have but some things can't merely be accepted. Noise and pollution are the two main ones you get way more of in Thailand than back home and they affect your body and nervous system. Best you can do is try to mediate it but it's never not going to be annoying to be woken up by loud music or having smoke fill up your house because your neighbor decided he wanted to burn some leaves.
  2. How did they not catch this in Thailand? It was a large quantity too. They always x-ray all bags right?
  3. how much does your copium dealer charge? I'd like to get some of that.
  4. I saw a big fat turd filled diaper dumped on the road today as I rode past it. They couldn't even be bothered to throw it far out into the woods where someone can't ride over it. When that thing gets run over and explodes I hope no one is nearby.
  5. What did these people used to do before they got access to the electric speakers and amplifiers? they should start doing that again.
  6. I've watched lots of car dash cam crashes compilations in Thailand and this is way more normal than you would think.
  7. I can think of two kids on motorbikes killed by these kinds of trucks on stretch of road in Chiang Mai. Those two accidents were trailers and the kids get stuck between the two sections, maybe saw a gap out of the corner of their eye and moved in to it. Thai people are too conformable driving extremely close to each other. This girl like most people would just casually drive along side it and not think anything of it. RIP. One of the very few times I ever got hurt on my road bike one of those very long bedded trucks passed me and slowly started to push me off the side of the narrow 2 lane road. Got very close to having to jump off into the irrigation ditch. I got so angry I drafted him for a couple of kilometers and found him parked at a bar, and yes he was visibly drunk even. Maybe the only time I ever yelled at a Thai person but nothing came of it because he knew he was drunk and driving.
  8. I almost spit out my Matzah ball when I read that headline.
  9. hehe you heard that too? that was one of the very first things I learned to speak in Thai. 😂 It wasn't exactly what you wrote but the same message.
  10. I'm from Colorado. Same <deleted>. People just blame those CA transplants, which is partly true but it's much deeper than that. Anywhere you find these same weak people they aren't willing to set standards for society and get overwhelmed by poverty and crime. Serves them right honestly but everyone else gets caught in the crossfire and goddamn it's tiring trying to explain how to the world works.
  11. what's with Indian groups of men? I see them hanging on each other and holding hands even. Now they're all going for same girl? very strange behavior.
  12. My first year in Thailand I was talking to my uncles Thai wife and she told me a phrase they have because I was interested in learning Thai. It was "between a snake and an Indian who do you hit first?" and the answer was the Indian. Anyone here that one before? She was from Nakon Phanom in Isaan. It wasn't Indian though it was the Thai word they use for Indians and Arabs, kind of like Farang for us.
  13. Not even Pattaya. Look at Canada. They totally displaced the Canadians. Same thing is happening in Thailand too.
  14. What I don't understand is why TAT claims tourism revenue is up. The major groups are now Chinese, Malaysians, Indians and Russians. How is that translating to higher spending per tourist?
  15. Indeed. In fact Gandhi himself had racial tensions with blacks in South Africa. During colonial times he believed the Indians were superior to black Africans and resented the British mixing them into the same category. IMO he's vastly overstated the stared Indo-Aryan heritage between Europeans and Indians. More so than Africans obviously but not by much. https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2021/4/7/coming-to-terms-with-gandhis-complicated-legacy
  16. how? The "kao" and "rao" rhyme. That's why it works. They're also a special group, kind of like the native Americans in the US. They're their own nation but integrated into the country legally. I think that's why the phrase exists. It's like "yeah your thai, but not really". It's certainly racist and exclusionary language.
  17. This pretty much sums it up. No one is retiring in India or looking for Indian wives overseas. People generally won't even vacation in Indian. Yet they're swarming countries in massive numbers. There's no debate about this. You can be anti-racist and decry racism blah blah blah but that doesn't change the reality.
  18. This reminded me. since we're talking about Indians check out this cute Indian girl arguing with some black women. N-bombs away! Race war USA is going multiracial now. How exciting.
  19. Are you guys in the US? Some years ago I was in the southern US for 1 year and my Thai wife came to visit. We ended up going to the house of some other Thai women with her husband. At one point she was complaining about how the blacks were illegally fishing in their private lake. How funny, this is a common complaint with us and Thai's. Sadly I didn't hear any n-bombs dropped. That would have been memorable.
  20. The point of the video was the comments. There's another video I posted shortly after that with the same kind of comments. I see this over and over again.
  21. I'm not saying that single video was evidence, just a citation in a trend I've seen on social media. Any time Indians come up in Thailand related comment look at the comments and see all the hate they get. They're now one the most dominate groups of tourists in Thailand and indeed even immigrants in western countries. This would be fine except India is country most people avoid so why isn't surprising they get backlash when coming these numbers?
  22. "How dare you not sell me that thing which you don't have!" they should stick up an e-cigarette up his butt for this kind of behavior.
