Maybe the dash cam in the truck (seen in the photo) might be of use? ????

Well, I guess the relative hasn’t got far to go to see them now as he can just pop down to the morgue.

Good point. I’d forgotten about that ridiculous rule.

The sedan tried to beat the train? I guess it it accelerated all by itself. It’s time the headlines changed to indicate it’s the driver was at fault (if applicable).

Caught Covid in the UK in January 2021, two AZ vaccines in Thailand in June & September 2021, one Pfizer booster in UK, December 2021.

It’ll be difficult to train people to do this. In my condo we have green bins (recycling: paper, glass etc.) and black bins for everything else, and with signs indicating this. However, I constantly see recyclable stuff in the black bins. Either laziness or ignorance, I guess.

You can also pay your tax online through eservice.dlt.go.th
This has now been extended to vehicles over 7 years old. When you take the car for the MOT, the tester puts the information into the system and you don't need to upload anything from them. You can just pay and you get a tracking number when the DLT post the new tax disc out to you. Worked really well for me.I just visited the site. Can I assume it’s only in Thai? No worries if so. Thanks.

7 years.
I looked up a couple of sites in Thai.
One from an insurance company gives an example.
Google translate:
All other observances need "explanation".
https://www.hugsinsurance.com/article/annual-vehicle-inspection
Thanks very much for that. Much appreciated.

During my time in Thailand I had two vehicles and they both had to have their first MOT checks for tax renewal after 7 (SEVEN) years i.e. from their 8th "birthday", then annually.
Thank you.

Wiggy, just had mine renewed. Like you I picked the car up new in August 2016. Got the number plate in October 2016. My insurance company just renewed the tax last week to run from 13th. October until next year. Therefore I am assuming the 7 years starts in October 2023. Hope this helps.
Thank you. That helps a lot, as it seems like I won’t need to get it tested this time.
It’s not a big deal, I get it taxed on Sukhumvit and there’s a tax drive-through and test station there. I just want to save some time by not being turned away for the tax in order to get it tested then having to queue again to get it taxed.

"Checking" means paying 200 Baht and they taking a photo that the car was physically there. There is no "checking" of the state of car involved. At least in our Isaan provincial city. Really no big deal if you're worried about that.
About number of years I can't help.
Thanks for the reply. I went through a check many years ago, and they did test the lights, brakes and generally faffed around it. I’m in Bangkok. I guess it is less stringent in some areas.

I’ve been looking around to find out the answer to the above. Some say 6 years, others say 7. For those that say six, the first day you pick it up and/or it was registered, is counted as year one, which kind of makes it 7, if you follow my drift. My question is that I picked up my new car in August 2016 , and the tax expires on September 1st. I feel it’s six years old now, but it’s entering its 7th year so, I’m wondering if I need to get it checked/tested before renewing the tax. TIA for and help/advice.

Blah, blah, blah. These changes were mentioned and proposed following the Kader & Santika fires (among others) in years past. Nothing was done then, and nothing will be done now. Third world country, third world issues, more innocent people will die. Get used to it.

Absolute rubbish. The vast majority of games kick-off at 3pm on a Saturday, which is 9pm or 10pm in Thailand depending on the time of year.

And now it was reported that 3 nine mm shell casings were found 1-2 meters from the shallow grave.
These appeared to have been missed in the initial investigation at the end of last week.
Probably due to all the finger-pointing onlookers and media trampling all over the crime scene, which unfortunately seems to be common practice here.

I assume this new rule doesn’t apply to (insert expensive car name here) owners, as is usual.

Certainly Thai air can dictate some silly prices to LHR direct, but if BA return and EVA return to normal then those prices will have to go down. Personally I think its about lack of airline choice and profiteering rather than fuel cost
Hopefully, and I think you’re right as airlines buy fuel on the futures market (as mentioned earlier) and what they’re using now might have been bought at prices 9 months ago. Profiteering to make up for Covid losses is my guess. BA return in October, I think (currently cargo-only flights using a 787).

The conventional routes - such as direct with Thai Air, Eva and BA never did fly over Russian or Ukrainian Airspace. Neither do the Middle Eastern Airlines; Emirates, Etihad, Qatar etc...
Flights have long been avoiding Ukraine & Russian Airspace since Malaysia Airlines was shot down - avoiding this airspace is nothing new.
Thus: There is no excuse for ‘additional costs’ due to additional mileage flow. That said, fuel is more expensive, however most of that was purchased on futures markets a while ago when the price of fuel was significantly less.
The only valid excuse for increased prices is a simple business model of capitalist response to excess demand with the profits being masked with Covid costs and elevated fuel... many businesses are doing the same as if they consider its ‘their time to win back lost profits’... sadly this costs everyone elevated levels of inflation becomes the end result.
I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment.

Written Thai is not necessary. There is time to learn some spoken Thai, as you don’t need to be fluent.
