Biden's legacy is that he had dementia, lied about it, as did all the Dems, then finally got outed in a debate and had to step down from the presidential race, while keeping a very low profile for the rest of his term as president. Really embarrassing. At least most people are going to agree on this point. Harris did a terrible job. She was completely out of her depth and came across as unlikeable, fake, and incompetent. The reason this causes cognitive dissonance is the two conflicting beliefs their brains are struggling to cope with. Due to their strong disliking to Donald Trump, many people have constructed an imaginary image in their heads of who he is. This makes it easier to hate him and see him as the bad guy, without admitting that what they are doing is irrational. The knock-on effect from this imaginary image is that they had to create imaginary people to support Trump, the "MAGA, Nazi, racist, Fascists". Deep down, these people know that 73,500,000 people cannot all be "MAGA, Nazi, racist, Fascists", so the result of the election threatens to shatter the image these people have created that allowed them to hate Trump and Trump supporters so passionately. With this image shattered, what they are left with is the idea that it is actually them with the problem, and people find this hard to accept, leading to emotional distress.

This is what normal people do. I think what Jingthing is actually doing is venting a little and trying to attack Trump voters. He can't bring himself to post "You guys are all XYZ", so he has to do it this way.

The left is insane. You cannot reason with them because they live in a world of lies. How can normal people approach any sort of reconciliation with a group who wants to pretend they are fascists, racists, etc.? Best thing to do is to ignore the left-wing nutjobs and get on with making the country, possibly the world, a better place. People like @Jingthing don't want things to get better under Trump. They will be distraught if Trump improves things, and will be actively working to stop Trump making the US a better place. How can you cooperate with people like that?
