Are you replying to someone claiming the proportion of world production of something with what percentage those things make up of Russia's total exports? I don't see how this rebuts the point you are arguing against.

Help, i fancy my local pharmacist (F) !
BangkokReady replied to Aurelien's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It's a trope where the Thai girl has her "brother" with her all the time, he ends up living with the foreigner and the Thai girl, then once the Thai girl has got everything she kicks the foreigner out (possibly kills him), keeps everything, then lives happily ever after with her "brother" (who was actually her husband all along). -
Taxi driver brandishes knife in Siam Square altercation (video)

Now? I thought this was fairly standard. -
Hardly surprising. The Tories were voted out because they only cared about the wealthy and couldn't give a stuff about the working man. Labour were meant to be the party of the people, but since they've gotten in, Starmer has made it clear that they're the party of ethnic minorities and immigrants. The working man is still getting shafted.

Pass her a note with "Back door beauty?" written on it. It worked really well in this documentary I saw... -

A serious problem with Thai women. They don't seem to have any issue with expressing desire for someone when they are already in a relationship, even when their partner is with them! Quite bizarre. -
I just thought that it is wrong to say that she should have her own money. The quote from your previous post was as an example of your mysogyny, in my opinion. An interesting exchange. Is it misogyny to say that she should have her own money, because men should look after women, and to not look after them is misogynistic? Or is it misogyny to say that men should look after women, and to suggest that they need a man to help them financially is misogynistic? Perhaps we're sometimes a little too quick to throw around the misogyny label? Is the immigration policy for marriage visas misandrist? 🤔

I think it's pretty mean, TBH. Once you have a Thai wife and Thai kids, visas shouldn't be something you have to worry about at all, let alone jump through hoops to get. If Thailand is so worried about foreigners, why are they allowed to marry or impregnate locals in the first place? I can only assume that people are so blasé about child-rearing, they don't really care if a husband/father is able to remain in Thailand or not. Pretty sad.

So what about the following hypothetical scenario: A Western man moves to Thailand to work. He spends his life there, marries a local, has two children, buys a house (in wife's name, of course), is an upstanding member of the community, excellent husband, doting farther, and so on. He decides to take care of his retirement "the Thai way" and lives a quiet and humble life on the money sent to him by his Thai children. The above is very common in Thailand, and probably much of SEA. Is that man really such a bad person? Is a he a massive drain on Thailand? Does his life of working in Thailand, taking care of a Thai wife, and raising Thai children mean so little? Is he really entitled to nothing? Only giving and giving until he dies?

Thai transwomen fight over foreign client on Phuket’s Bangla Road
BangkokReady replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Seems odd to call them transwomen. Aren't they ladyboys? -
Atypical means not typical. Is that what you meant?

‘Wife for hire’: Inside Thailand’s shocking rental marriage trend

You've got the wrong meaning of industry. It's industry as in "a distinct group of productive or profit-making enterprises". -

Isn't it more the huge importance placed on money, making whatever you can do to get it justified? -

Isn't it called "holiday girlfriend" or "girlfriend experience"? I've never heard temporary marriage. -
Bad experience teaching in Thailand
BangkokReady replied to bimbumbam's topic in Teaching in Thailand Forum
This is a little confusing. Are you saying you were made to feel uncomfortable because they didn't want you touching the kids, or because they did want you touching the kids? -

That sometimes adults yell at children and it doesn't mean they don't love them? -
Dashcam footage exposes foreign man attack on tuk tuk driver - video
BangkokReady replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
I don't see a punch. Some really weird body movements. The guy grabs the driver at one point, but the driver seems very chill about it. He seems to be kind of spasming all over the place. I wonder if the guy has some sort of weird disability that causes him to move in this way, and the driver knows about it? He certainly doesn't look like he is actually attacking the driver. And the driver doesn't seem to bothered about what is going on. -

Interesting that they cover two ends of the Thai reaction spectrum. Perhaps waiting until they know what actually happened might be a good idea. -
