Can you tell me how to open Sky Go in my browser? I went to Sky's page and under the title 'Open Sky Go' there is a link that says 'sign in' - when I click on that link I get a dialogue box titled 'Launch Application' and in that box it says 'This link needs to be opened with an application':

    https://www.sky.com/shop/tv/sky-go/?http://dcmp=knc-ggl-brn-nc-1775587368-&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxcH4oq-Y5AIViLTtCh1-VwNrEAAYASAAEgI3sPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    I also found this Q & A on a Google search:

Can you watch Sky Go on a browser?
Re: Sky go on laptop without the app
You need to read through the posts as there are loads. In essence however Sky are unable to stream via browsers as it requires Silverlight which all the browsers are abandoning support for. So you do need the desktop app download.

    Which Browser are you using?

I don't have SkyGo, so cannot test anything. But it could be Sky might have stopped the Browser version of SkyGo, according to that forum.

So the App may be your only option.

So try the VPN on the laptop to see if it works.

Jamjar, I want the AIS package for 100 Baht per month, will that code only work on a 4G sim ? My sim is about 4 years old so I presume it's not 4G ?

For your SIM, you are eligible for the 3/6/12 month totally unlimited data allowance @ 1 Mbps. 600/1200/1800 baht respectively.

Also totally unlimited 4 Mbps for three months(1284 baht) or 10 Mbps for three months(1926 baht)

If you want the new offer, you will need a new SIM. In that case, max out the validity period of your existing SIM in order to keep it alive, whilst you take advantage of the offer on new SIM.

I'm having problems communicating with the E-bay seller (for a product key) suggested by a couple of the posters. Can someone please try to interpret what he meant by his latest message (newest at the top at the bottom)?

You are making a mountain out of a molehill.... If you looked at his page, it would be clear which product you should choose.

Windows 10 PRO 32/64 bits Product Key Activation Code is all you need......then clean install the operating system.

My friend got a package from True that included the SIM, the WiFi device, and a data package. I believe he was paying 499THB per month (about $16). He was happy with it, but it was not the best for watching streaming video (like Netflix) - it worked, but had occasional pauses for stream caching.

    Forget about this....

Both the device and the allowance are.....below par.

  5. You will have to check the reception of all SIM networks, to determine which gives the best reception.

If you've had your existing DTAC SIM prior to the 1st of March 2019, then you are eligible for unlimited data packages.

Don't buy a MiFi if you cannot research the exact specification and if you are not sure if it is unlocked to all networks.

Please understand, I know little about all this, nor do I want to be. I am an expert in my own field only - not computers or tech - I just want to 'Wash & Go'.  So, given that information are you saying that if I access Sky Go on my laptop (using my mobile as the hotspot) I should use the numbers recommended for the laptop?

To try and explain my way of thinking - and possibly why I am misunderstanding.........what I was thinking is that as I am using my mobile to connect to the internet, the signal would show as coming from Thailand if I didn't use the VPN on my mobile.

So in a very simplistic way. Is the following correct according to what timendres is recommending:

    1. Open the hotspot on my phone - no VPN.

    2. Connect to the internet on my laptop through my phone's hotspot.

    3. Open the Nord VPN application on my laptop and set the select one of the servers recommended for THE LAPTOP.

    4. Open Sky Go (hopefully).

    Is that correct?

Yes. if you connect to SkyGo via the Browser, you can hope that will work.

Use Internet Explorer or Firefox. Before you connect to SkyGo, check that you are appearing to be browsing from the U.K; https://www.dnsleaktest.com

If all ok, then use the same browser to sign in to SkyGo.

I read positive reviews about the Lenovo Thinkbook 13s.

Good value for money. First appeared in May.

    German reviews from this month.

It's not yet on Lazada but at the Lenovo Thailand page and is cheaper/same price compared to Germany.

    Unfortunately no English site:

(Google translate on Chrome does a good job)

Thai version comes with Windows 10 Home Single Language

    UK version Windows 10 Pro.

I'm far from an expert but I don't think that is correct. Sky Go is installed on both my phone and my laptop.  When I'm in the UK I connect to any Wifi network and can watch Sky Go channels on my laptop. I can also watch them on my phone on either a good mobile connection or through Wifi.

For now, I give up. I think it will be easier to get broadband installed in my Thai home.

This is the latest reply from Nord:

    Thank you for your reply.

As we have mentioned in the previous letter, a VPN connection cannot be transferred via the hotspot.

If you are able to connect your Android device to your TV using a HDMI cable, then that should work.

In order to access Sky Go UK on your mobile device, please connect to these servers: UK1445, UK1490.

Let us know how it goes!

Unfortunately, even if I buy a phone HDMI cable, I will not be able to use it apparently because my phone is not MHL compatible ????.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

What in my post do you say is not correct?? It is an App on your phone. It is also an App on Windows. So what is it that I wrote that you imagine was wrong?

You haven't yet explained exactly as to how you use it on the laptop.

Signing in on the website via a Browser page or the opening of an App?

  9. From what I have read, the Android OS may prevent you from sharing the VPN connection. There may be ways around it, but since it is not something that I have tried myself, so in that case, will only be able to point you towards people who have.

The alternative is to buy a 4G Router that allows you add the VPN details. It won't have the restrictions of the Android OS.

I can do that with Nord, they have even told me the best servers to connect to in the UK. But they say I cannot connect my laptop to the internet using my phone as a hotspot.

I am quite sure that I have not mentioned Nord...not even once.

Nord is not the only VPN out there. So once again, you need to find a VPN who can work with your existing equipment and then run a test.

Please note that on December 1st 2018, NordVPN’s servers stopped supporting L2TP/IPsec and PPTP connections.

Scroll down to; How To Manually Setup VPN on Samsung Phone

Once again, find a VPN with a free trial, that still supports those protocols and then run a test to see if your Samsung works as a Router for your laptop.

You shouldn't cook with extra virgin olive oil as it splits at high temps so becomes unhealthy plus looses it flavours which was the whole point of using it the first place but great for dressing which I assume you know JJ from the knowledgeable slight of your post.

Ghee has an extremely high smoking point.

I have to tell you that you are simply repeating another fallacy for when it comes to Extra virgin olive oil.

  12. There is a big difference between 'Olive oil' and 'Extra virgin olive oil'.

You can likely forget about any establishment in Pattaya using Extra Virgin olive oil, nor Avocado oil in their cooking.

You just don't pay enough for it.

You might be lucky to find one that uses Extra Virgin olive oil. Maybe some cheap Spanish brand.

You can forget about Avocado oil. Just too expensive in Thailand.

I use cold pressed Rapeseed oil as my base cooking oil. 500 ml in Thailand costs something like 600 baht.

I use Extra virgin Kalamata olive oil for my Greek cooking. Bitter and spicy.

I have a variety of specific olive and regional varieties of Italian and Spanish extra virgin olive oils.

Forget about similar quality in any restaurant in Thailand. it is just too expensive to buy in Thailand.

If you are lucky you'll get an oil that has been refined to a point wherein you would have no idea that olives were involved. So they add a bit of first or second press olive oil to make it taste a bit of olive oil. Sad.

I import mine for my own use. Cannot abide poor quality foodstuffs.

I see nothing wrong with exploring the idea. Long shot and didn't happen and so what?  not the first time and he made a joke about it. The haters will always hate.

Apart from the fact that Denmark had already spent a lot of money on preparations. The man is a utter moron.

Why someone would utter a statement such as 'haters will hate' just boggles the mind. Sounds like the words of a pimp to justify their abhorrent behaviour.

My AIS 110g for 200 thb has just been renewed automatically after the end of the first month. They still do not tell me how long I can use it, but i will always keep enough money on the account to allow it to auto renew. Maybe forever ? ????

Likely twelve months, but definitely for a minimum of six. The promo changes from month to month. But currently, the indication is that it is for twelve months, in line with the competition.
