I thought about getting clippers, the neighbour did to do her 2 sons hair. They always look like half shaven coconuts, not as easy as it looks apparently
I used to get my hair cut by a barber real close to my home but then he shut up shop so I bought some clippers and the gf does it.
Half shaven coconut ?, hmm now you mention it I can see the resemblance [emoji51] -

I’m thinking about selling the motor and buying new, fancy a change of make and model.
In other countries selling privately is usually more cost effective, is that the case here ??
Is there any way to find out my cars value other than looking on one2car.com ??
Is there something similar to Blue Book ( as commonly known in uk ) here ??
Or should i see what the dealer would offer me and put up privately for slightly more ??
TIA

Got a couple of frequent visitors to the house !!
They are usually seen in an empty house over the soi but like to go walkabout .
A couple of weeks ago I was reversing the car out and there was an almighty racket under the front end, both cats were apparently sleeping in the wheel arches !!
I’ve never seen cats move so fast [emoji3]-

Why does this never happen to me ??
A young man moved from his parents home into a new apartment of his own and went to the lobby to put his name on his mailbox.
While there, an attractive young lady came out of the apartment next to the mailboxes, wearing a robe.
The boy smiled at the young woman and she started a conversation with him.
As they talked, her robe slipped open, and it was obvious that she had nothing else on.
The poor kid broke into a sweat trying to maintain eye contact.
After a few minutes, she placed her hand on his arm and said, "Let's go to my apartment, I hear someone coming."
He followed her into her apartment; she closed the door and leaned against it, allowing her robe to fall off completely.
Now completely nude, she purred at him,
"What would you say is my best feature?" Flustered and embarrassed, he finally squeaked, "It's got to be your ears."
Astounded, and a little hurt she asked, "My ears? Look at these breasts; they are full and 100% natural. I work out every day and my butt is firm and solid. Look at my skin - no blemishes anywhere, so how can you think that the best part of my body is my ears?!"
Clearing his throat, he stammered, "Outside, when you said you heard someone coming, that was me..."-

There is no requirement to have 35 years of continuous employment. Any job/jobs or even getting unemployment benefits where you receive NI credit is enough as long as you have a total of 35 years.
Some might feel safe knowing they contributed 40 years or more !!
But you really need to go online and do a forecast to get your pension situation.
I contributed 40 full years ( no gaps ) yet needed another 6 years of contributions to achieve full SP.-

Quote: "They accepted water and left shortly, all very businesslike and I haven’t noticed anything missing"
What about your rights?, civil rights, rights to privacy and any other rights some of the whiners love to spout on about?... surely those rights are missing !!!
You can't just roll over like this, you have to make life difficult for yourself so you can have a problem and complain how they [Thai's] hate us, or want to treat us like criminals etc...
(yes, that was sarcasm btw)
Yup, I like to throw these little curve balls in at the end of a post every now and then to see if people actually read right to the end !!
Actually I didn’t mind too much, the guys were only doing as they were told, not a bad number for them, driving round to see how farang folk live their lives and an opportunity to case the joint !!................oops there I go again !! [emoji51] -

Did my retirement extension last September ( Ayutthaya IO ), they booked a house visit for 2 weeks later.
They called various times to change the date and the time, plus when they got lost ( despite the address drawing done on extension !! ).
They appeared , took photos, looked at my passport and asked me to sign some paper ( apparently just a checklist acknowledging their visit).
They accepted water and left shortly, all very businesslike and I haven’t noticed anything missing [emoji51].-

A couple of years ago I decided to top up my missing years as I would get £138.08 in 2028 and required 6 years to make up the shortfall.
As I had contributed 40 full years ( no gaps ) I called DWP and they explained it all ( contracted out making the shortfall ), forget the details.
Soo, paid roughly £720 for first of the 6 years.
My forecast increased by £5.36 (£278.72 a year) and I now pay monthly on a DD.
Another 4 years to reach max of £164.35 , and then I’ve got to survive till I’m 70 to start to benefit !!
Anyone interested in this should call the DWP with NI number handy to get the full story, as stated they are very helpful.
NOTE: have to remember to stop the DD or you will continue to pay with no increase !! -

I haven't read all the posts but I side with the ones telling you to go for it. It sounds like you have done a lot of prep work--certainly a lot more than I did before I moved to Thailand permanently in 2010. I like that you have education in a career that you can fall back on if need be.
I think too many--me included--took the safe path in life and worked a job that paid the bills but wasn't necessarily their dream career. In my case, I've sort of gotten lucky here and I've had a chance to do what I would have loved doing my whole career--the past 9 years here have been very fun, interesting, and satisfying.
So, I say don't take the safe path; take the path that you will find fun, interesting, and satisfying. I hope all goes well for you. Good luck.
Yes, totally agree with all the sentiment above .
The OP comes across as someone with a passion for his sport and now has the chance of living that passion with the added bonus of living a Thai lifestyle that he yearns for too .
He has the experience and foresight to understand that his fighting days are limited and that he has a fallback situation back in Canada if he needs it .
Go for it man , live your life !!
Who wouldn’t with the chances he has available ??
The visa situation is the only big stumbling block I can see but as he has a year ED visa nailed on he has time to sort the long term options out .
Drove through and stopped in Lampang a few times, looks like a decent city , great strawberries [emoji51]-
