  1. Here’s a movie i watched a while ago and liked. The age of Adaline: a romantic fantasy drama with Blake Lively and Harrison Ford “ After miraculously remaining 29 years old for almost eight decades, Adaline Bowman has lived a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever. “ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1655441/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
  2. BYD Seal owners, don’t get caught out with a flat 12v battery early doors especially as the 12v battery is not easily accessible. Well here’s a short video explaining how to use the fuse box facility, it’s in Thai but you get the gist and can clearly see the positive and a nut for the bare metal. https://fb.watch/nAqVYeytue/?mibextid=K8Wfd2
  3. Agree with the super hero movies deal, not a fan of Marvel or DC, never got into Star Trek as a kid and think I have watched 1 Star Wars movie, Batman is about the only franchise I like. But The Boys were different, sort of anti super heroes with a lot of deviant behaviour adding to the fun, escapism at its finest, hopefully Gen V is in a similar vein. The BBC drama/docs are usually top notch and hopefully this JS drama will live up to the hype. Casting Coogan in the lead role isn’t such a great idea for me, detracts a little as I find myself looking at him through the makeup and seeing Alan Partridge, an unknown would have been better imho.
  4. If you liked The Boys then you might like this: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13159924/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk Gen V: “ From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school's highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university's dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become. “
  5. It depends on location with CW being the worst offender recently and the main reason for the posting of “ issues “. Did my report yesterday at 8.22 am ( not CW ), figuring that sometime after 8.00 am today it would be approved and sure enough at 9.47 got the approval email. Certain immigration offices need a kick up the backside to improve their work ethics occasionally, looks like it is time for CW to get theirs.
  6. Thanks CL, I have bought a few stuff from Food Variety ( teabags, Bovril and corned beef ) will take a look.
  7. Okay, yea it was me who recommended the Makro cheese and it’s just okay I agree, Anchor is better. Wish I knew of a decent cheese shop around my way .
  8. Owl, my Makro is a bit limited for cheese, have been buying 2kg of Horteca for around 700 baht, but last time they had Anchor at around 785 baht for 2 kg, a lot better taste.
  9. Here’s an accessory in the design stage: Hopefully the finished product will be in a more substantial material ????
  10. Here in Ayutthaya I see the river level is high, my local Wat ( Phanan Choeng) is the indicator as it is where 2 rivers ( Chao Phraya and Prasak ) merge, not time to lift the flood barriers just yet This video from 30 sept 2022: IMG_9056.mov but any major release up north will see those plates lifted and a thick rubber laid across, how effective this is I’m not sure but is protection for the Wat only ! Those downstream can fend for themselves ….. sorry @Crossy
  11. Veering slightly further off topic but ( hopefully ) interesting enough to be included ! On a trip to Hua Hin last year I lost my license plate, a quick visit to the police to register the loss/theft meant I could travel back to Yutya [sic] safely. Visited the DLT and for the princely sum of 105 baht was told to return in 90 days. Same thing happened to my bil a few months after but he was hit with a 850 baht cost, the only difference being his car on finance. Nice mark up Mr Finance !
  12. This guy says he will be travelling from Rayong to Singapore in his Seal, maybe he will take advantage of the cheaper coating while there. It appears the license plate has been reversed and the SG ( or is it Malaysia? ) tag painted on the back. Is this what they do when you take a car to another country, and how did he get the white plate so quickly ??
  13. The Reckoning Steve Coogan plays Jimmy Saville in this 4 part mini series. Will be interesting how the BBC appears in this as they surely must take some of the blame for the freedom Saville had during the programmes he made with them. NOTE: this series has been produced by ITV Studios but will air on BBC “All four episodes of The Reckoning are released on BBC iPlayer on Monday (9 October). The series will also be broadcast on BBC One on Monday and Tuesday nights at 21:00 BST for the next two weeks. “ from BBC Website. There have been many documentaries but this, I believe, is the first dramatisation of Saville’s abuse. Hopefully it is good as was the recent Ripper series ( The Long Shadow ).
  14. Probably like Vinny says, the red plates are used as a status thing and they are hanging on to them. Its not as if we are in the sticks and they would have to travel far to change plates, at the time the nearest showroom would have been about 30 minutes away.
  15. Yup, the 30 days registration estimate is usually very flexible, in my experience. Honda - 2 months MG - 2 + 1/2 months Haval - 30 days An Atto 3 parked up at a nearby house has been on red plates since April !
  16. Seems like the Tesla price reductions could be in the US also according to The Electric Viking .
  17. September EV registrations: BYD top two places ( might be 3 next month as the Seal seems very popular). Also seems like the MG EP has never ending stock, almost feels like they rushed the release of the MG ES.
  18. The Sixth Commandment ( 4 part mini series ) Based on a true story. Timothy Spall plays Peter an aged academic who is heavily involved with the church, he struggles to hide his homosexual tendencies until he meets Ben, one of his pupils. Ben is perfect and when Ben starts to show Peter some affection he cannot believe his luck …. but things are about to take an unexpected and deadly turn. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20916306/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk Enjoying this British crime drama.
  19. Regarding regen: I think it would be foolish not to use it at some level. This Guy reckons it makes up for 25% of his battery energy, the other 75% comes from charging. ( I tried to play the video but won’t play now, anyone else ?? )
  20. This seems the simplest solution to make sure your partner/wife etc has access to some funds if we, god forbid, dropped down dead. As many will have at least 400k in their bank account , some much more, would adding another signatory to the account be enough to ensure the funds are accessible by our partner on our passing ?? I understand that clearing the bank account by a gf ( for example using the deceased ATM card ) on the passing of the foreigner is not strictly legal and could suffer the consequences, but would just the UV signature be enough ?
  21. Some people go to great lengths to disguise their wealth.
  22. Agreed, would be difficult to find any sincere sympathy from anyone living in the U.K..
  23. Enjoying this, good to see a dramatisation rather than a documentary, some well known faces in this. But, I am a biased as i lived 5 miles from Sutcliffe and was interviewed as I worked at one of the 5 companies who had been issued with the infamous fiver !
  24. That’s a head turner you have got yourself there, congratulations !!
