  1. I haven’t been receiving the Newsletter for 2 days now ?
  2. I made an enquiry at the high rise Revolving Restaurant at Pattaya Water Park, Buffet Meal, I couldn’t believe when they said 500฿ for my Thai wife 700฿ for a foreigner. Am I going to eat 200฿ more food than a Thai ?
  3. It doesn’t get favourable reviews
  4. I don’t have any transport to get to Sattahip, thanks for the info.
  5. Do you know anyone who has used it ?
  6. I have deteriorating eyesight, after tests in the U.K. the consultant couldn’t determine what was causing it, they just said come back in 1 year, I now can’t drive because of it. I have since had a consultation at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, they did exactly the same tests as I had in the U.K., the consultant diagnosed glaucoma at the same time encouraging me to have my cataracts done. They are not the cause of my poor eyesight, he admitted having them done wouldn’t make my vision any better just clearer. On a side note the Hospital said I could have it done on my Health Insurance, obviously not as it’s a pre existing condition as advised by my insurance company when I asked them. I would like a second opinion, is there a reputable Eye Clinic in Pattaya ? I have searched the forums but the posts are not of recent.
  7. Judging by the investment in new bars and restaurants opening in Pattaya the business people are hoping for an upturn. My opinion, pre Covid there already was an over supply of bars in Pattaya, do the business people know some thing I don’t ?
  8. So neither myself or my Thai wife require a visa, we both can get a visa on arrival, is there a fee ?
  9. The ‘old git’ U.K. said citizens require a visa ?
  10. I have posted this in the Vietnam forum but no one replied so I try here, We are planning a trip to Vietnam in Octobe for 4/5 days, I am a U.K. citizen my wife is Thai, what are the visa requirements, I have tried ‘googling’ but as usual I get conflicting answers.
  11. I am a U.K. citizen, we are planning a trip to Vietnam for 4/5 days, my wife is Thai, what are the Visa requirements for both of us ?
  12. Google monkey pox is more prevalent in LGBTQ+ and you will find the answers there.
  13. It will do harm financially to the tourist industry although this article from U.K. Government suggest that you can only test when scabs appear so it would very unlikely you would travel if you have scabs, it’s not a respiratory disease like Covid. Monkeypox is diagnosed by PCR test on a viral swab taken from one or more vesicles or ulcers, or from a dry scraping of the scab. Swabs should be sent in viral transport media. Scab scrapings should only be taken if there are no other lesions and should be sent in a standard universal container.2 days ago Monkeypox: diagnostic testing - GOV.UK
  14. I was looking at bringing my family in August, 4 o them, the air fares have shot up but I was prepared to bite the bullet on that as it’s out of my control. We have less than a 100 cases of Monkey Pox in the U.K. and the Thai government are going to introduce testing which will be an additional cost, sorry Thailand if they do introduce a test the trip will cancelled, it’s an expense I am not willing to pay for.
  15. For me pick a flight which is non stop or has a stop over in Europe, I had an Business Class Emirates flight and you don’t really get the benefits of Business Class if you have to change flights halfway through the journey. Try and get a late night flight and you can get the benefit of a bed, no point having a lie down bed on a daytime flight.
  16. Our son returned to school, he moved up a year, we had to buy a new bag for that year, the old one which was like new was blue, the new one had to be black was purchased from the school. The school should have a recycling plan, parents to return uniforms, shoes bags etc and given to the less well of or sold at a reduced price.
  17. They put Road blocks up to discourage drinking and driving, that appears o be ineffective as well ? Nothing to stop a Thai necking loads of alcohol bought the day before then going to vote.
  18. Why are they complaining, thousands drive round not wearing helmets or not wearing seat belts in cars.
  19. The biggest problems are the office is too small and in the wrong location, it should be in Central Pattaya, there is a huge empty top floor in the Avenue Shopping Centre which would be ideal. I think dealing with the public no matter where isn’t the best of vocations, I have found here also Bank Staff never appear to be happy very rarely smile or acknowledge you. I think both jobs Immigration and the Banking sector is stressful because of the amount of paperwork which they have to sort through.
  20. Yes like many I have a Private Pension, the State Pension ‘uses’ up most of my Tax Allowance leaving a small amount which is not enough and my PP is taxed.
  21. I am sure the restaurants and bars benefited from a dry Songkhran, people knowing they would be unlikely to be dowsed with freezing cold water would go out for a beer or a meal.
  22. It was mentioned by one the media groups, can’t remember which one though.
  23. With out wishing to be a damp squid I think businesses will make more money with out the water throwing as people will be more prepared to go out knowing they are not going to get dowsed with water.
