  1. Didn’t Anutin just remove Cannabis from the illegal drug list with out it even being discussed in Parliament ?
  2. I have just come back from a trip to Vietnam, never seen so many motor bikes/scooters, 99,9% were wearing helmets, why because the Police enforce the laws there.
  3. A touch of sarcasm, I live in Pattaya so I am well aware of how many outlets there are, laws are made in Thailand but never enforced. Bearing in mind there could be a few out of pocket if the law is reversed.
  4. All this talk about getting stoned I thought the permitted levels of whatever is in cannabis which was permitted were below the levels you could get stoned on ?
  5. All I can say she insists it isn’t and even if it is certain medical conditions aren’t covered, can some one provide a link to confirm it’s free.
  6. Unfortunately my partner hasn’t worked for 10 years, she has no idea how to continue making monthly contributions, she keeps telling me if she needs medical treatment it’s not free, I have no way of confirming this ?
  7. What does that entitle her to, free medical and a pension when she retires, how do you go about it ?
  8. Thais are good liars unfortunately, we have discussed it at length, I have told her if she is sick I don’t have the funds to pay any hospital bills, her answer was I die then ! Even if it was free she says because her House Registration is in Isaan, we live in rented accommodation in Pattaya she would have to pay.
  9. I have made enquiries about this, from the info I have you can’t pay voluntary contributions ?
  10. Not according to what she tells me, no contributions no free healthcare ?
  11. As my Thai partner doesn’t work and doesn’t pay Social Security I believe she would have to pay for any medical treatment. I am looking at buying Accident and Health Insurance, she is 44 years old with no underlying health issues. can anyone recommend a reputable insurance company, we live in Pattaya ?
  12. Big C Extra on Pattaya Klang have a wonderful display of fresh meats, I have neve never seen anyone buy anything no matter what time of day ?
  13. Correct me if I am wrong, when cannabis was decriminalised was it not supposed to be used for medicinal purposes only, it appears to being used as a recereational drug currently ? If the Bill fails what will happen to all the people who have been released from prison be re arrested ?
  14. My partner doesn’t work therefore she isn’t paying any Social Security for Health Care, she has told me she can make a voluntary payment. If this is the case I would set up a DD to pay the contributions, we live in Pattaya. I assume this would mean a visit to the SS Office or can it be down online ?
  15. My colleagues lady has cysts on her ovaries and requires a hysterectomy, she says she has to pay for the procedure even at a government run hospital. She hasn’t had a job for over 10 years as my colleague provides for her and their daughter, is this why she wouldn’t be entitled to free treatment as she hadn’t paid into the system ?
  16. The Thaiger GMT program has went down a few notches since Tim left, more like a comedy show now with irrelevant news.
  17. Renewed my sons U.K. Passport from here, 17 weeks, renewed his Mothers and his Thai Passport in Pattaya, in and out in 20 minutes albeit we had made an online appointment. The new Thai passports arrived in 2 days, Thai Passports have twice as many pages as a U.K. Passport as well.
  18. Garages who sell used cars don’t display the price, is there a used car guide in English available ?
  19. Currently a bill going through parliament second reading what’s going to legal and illegal so things could change. Pot smoking tourists not welcome in Thailand according to the Health Minister Anutin yet he was the one who stood on the mandate of legalising it ?
  20. My insurance company won’t pay as it’s a pre existing condition ?
  21. I post the news from the Thai government so people don’t think Thailand is a place where cannabis is freely available and you can smoke a joins anywhere you like. A quote from the Health Minister. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul vowed to promote Thailand as a leading marijuana market for medical purposes and discourage foreign tourists who aimed to visit the country for recreational purposes. The Minister gave an interview with foreign press on Wednesday, August 17th, that the Ministry expected the marijuana market in Thailand to generate about 1.5 billion USD in early revenue and would grow 2-3 times higher after the first year of the decriminalization. He also reiterated that Thailand would focus on cannabis and hemp for medical use only and did not currently promote recreational use. Foreign tourists who planned to visit the country just to smoke the plant were, therefore, discouraged.
  22. So smoking pot in the street or in a public place is deemed as for medical and health purposes ?
