  1. You are clearly obsessed with the idea of keeping the public ignorant. Are there any crimes that you think are legitimate to report? I assume murder is out, as would be blackmail, rape, muggings, etc. Don't want to give the public any ideas.
  2. Storming the Capitol goes way past being "ill-informed". However if you are arguing that the Mayor and Chief of Police of Washington DC were idiots for not recognizing what dangerous idiots Trump's far-right supporters are....You've got a point.
  3. He gave the far-right way too much credit for intelligence and judgment.
  4. He was referring to post that were made shortly before your post. Try to catch up with the conversation before jumping in.
  5. Russia will only agree to peace if it can keep what its stolen: "But Russia has asserted that Ukraine must accept the September annexation of four of its regions—Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia—following sham referendums called by Russian President Vladimir Putin. There can be no peace plan "that does not take into account today's realities regarding Russian territory, with the entry of four regions into Russia," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday." https://www.newsweek.com/russia-lavrov-conditions-peace-talks-zelensky-1770088
  6. Are you aware that "smash and grab" is not a new phenomena? It's been around for a very long time, and is very well known. If I owned a shop I'd like to know that there has been a surge in these type or robberies so I could take precautions. As I stated before, I prefer being informed to being ignorant.
  7. Given a choice between informed or ignorant, I prefer informed.
  8. Wow! You go to absurd lengths to find a reason to criticize MSM. Not reporting crimes does not make crime go away. It does alert potential victims to take precautions.
  9. Putin is becoming like Hitler in his final days of deluded madness.
  10. True. Russia led everyone to believe it would be content within its post-Soviet Union borders and leave its neighbors in peace. Obviously Putin felt no obligation to to do that.
  11. It's difficult to reply to an incoherent post. Please clarify: Do you think that by quoting a paragraph from your source I somehow belittled it? Do you think that Russia has not threatened any of neighbors since the dissolution of the Soviet Union? What twisted logical conclusions are you accusing me of making?
  12. You think people who've traveled thousands of mile, crossed mountains, deserts and jungles and dealt with corrupt police and other criminals are going to be stopped by a wall? Enforcing laws against hiring illegal immigrants would be effective, but the Republicans don't want to discuss that.
  13. From your source: "The documents reinforce former CIA Director Robert Gates’s criticism of “pressing ahead with expansion of NATO eastward [in the 1990s], when Gorbachev and others were led to believe that wouldn’t happen.”[1] The key phrase, buttressed by the documents, is “led to believe.”" So maybe Russia was led to believe that NATO would not expand east, and maybe the west was led to believe that Russia would not threaten its neighbors. The fact remains that the only countries that want to join NATO are the ones with legitimate fears of Russian aggression.
  14. The Metropolitan Police Commander on site declared a riot at 1:50 p.m. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_January_6_United_States_Capitol_attack Trump didn't tell his supporters to go home until 8 pm. Specifically he tweeted: "Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!" https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/tweets-january-6-2021
  15. Your sources show that the need for National Guard troops was discussed. They don't show that Trump ever ordered or made a formal request that they be there. Talking about doing something is not the same as doing it.
  16. Trump did not request 10,000 National Guard: "There is no evidence Trump made any formal request about deploying 10,000 National Guard troops before the rally." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/12/16/fact-check-no-trump-request-10000-guard-troops-jan-6/8929215002/ He did ask that National Guard be available to protect his supporters, but not the Capitol: "According to Miller's testimony, Trump asked during that meeting whether the District of Columbia's mayor had requested National Guard troops for Jan. 6, the day Congress was to ratify Joe Biden's presidential election victory." "Trump told Miller to "fill" the request, the former defense secretary testified. Miller said Trump told him: "Do whatever is necessary to protect demonstrators that were executing their constitutionally protected rights."" https://www.reuters.com/world/us/congresswoman-says-trump-administration-botched-capitol-riot-preparations-2021-05-12/
  17. Yeah. It's great having a boring, competent President instead of an entertaining train wreck.
  18. Are you unaware of the outcome of the 2020 election or the stated intentions of Biden and Trump to run in 2024?
  19. I give referenced facts and you give nonsense opinions right out of Russia Today, yet you accuse me of blathering. Give it up troll.
  20. That discussion was had in 2020: Given the choices, a clear majority chose Biden. There will be a similar choice in 2024 and the only two candidates at this time are a re-run of the 2020 election. The fact that Biden has done much more as President makes him the better choice again.
  21. The "American think tank" quoted Gorbachev. That's no lie. Putin lied about promises he said were made to Gorbachev. Yet you want us to take Putin at his word. There's that Russian troll stuff again. What happened in Georgia and Ukraine are the reason why so many countries want to join NATO. If Russia wanted to stop NATO expansion it should have stopped threatening other countries. Why no sources for your other claims? Were the claims wrong, or just irrelevant statements taken wildly out of context?
  22. Provide sources for your claims and "I'll see if to revise my conclusion that you are an empty head filled with someone else's tendentious narrative." I will refute your second most absurd claim ("Other stuff" is the most absurd.) Gorbachev refuted claim 3. There was no commitment to not expand NATO. https://www.brookings.edu/blog/up-front/2014/11/06/did-nato-promise-not-to-enlarge-gorbachev-says-no/
  23. It is an argument that when the Republicans are in charge they can't do anything useful.
  24. I realize you are desperately trying to avoid the obvious so I'm putting it right in front of you: Russia invaded Ukraine! Ukraine is not defending itself because it was tasked to do so by the US or NATO. It is defending itself because it was invaded.
  25. You post non-sensical opinions without any rational basis and you expect a "real argument"? How's this: Present your evidence that Zelensky isn't in charge of anything, that he is propped up by shady Ukrainian oligarchs who will have him killed if he disobeys them, and that NATO and the US would object to a quick end to the war with Ukraine's pre-war borders restored. After you have presented this evidence we can debate its merits. Until you present such evidence, I stand by my claim that you are a Russian troll.
