TL;DR: If your SSD firmware is not SVT02B6Q then upgrade immediately, use the "Samsung Magician" software: https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/ Some batches of Samsung 870 EVO drives have a critical flaw in its firmware, damaging the data or completely bricking the SSD. if you have SSD made between September 2020 and July 2021 then 90% that you are affected. Mostly 2TB and 4TB drives affected but there are reports that some smaller capacity drives have this problem too. Check the S.M.A.R.T data - if you have "Reallocated sector count" higher than 10 and "Uncorrectable error" higher than ZERO then your drive is affected and you are eligible for a replacement SSD. More information: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/samsung-870-evo-beware-certain-batches-prone-to-failure.291504/ Just another reminder to keep backups of all important data ????i hope i won't go to jail for defamation

there is, but when you open these LibreOffice-generated .docx files in the Microsoft Office you find out that the document is broken and have to fix it again. So I've decided that it's easier to just use the Microsoft Office.
-
Open/Libre Office is not the same as MS Office. It is good only for .odt "open document format", but when it comes to Microsoft proprietary .doc/.docx then Open/Libre Office trashes all the data - misplaces tables, text placement, fonts, etc. And unfortunately the .doc/.docx format is the industry standard.

I mean that dedicating 1GB RAM out of 16 total to a Windows 7 virtual machine is much better then dedicating 2GB+ to a Windows 10+ virtual machine for running the very same tasks. Newer Windows versions just uselessly waste the system resources. While wasting 20GB extra HDD space might be not that significant for some, I consider wasting an extra gig or two of RAM as significant.
-
OK, does wasting extra 1GB of RAM on all the unnecessary cráp introduced since Windows 10 makes any difference? I understand that some people might have terabyte of RAM at home, but we modest laptop people sometimes could not install more than 16GB due to the platform limitations.
-
Linux, of course! I run Microsoft Office without any issues (the only purpose of that VM btw). If some program needs more space I could create a virtual machine with a larger storage. My point is - I'm not wasting 20 GB space for just the operating system itself, let alone the extra RAM and CPU time for all the unnecessary Microsoft cráp introduced in Windows 10.
-
yes, no, no runs perfectly fine in a 1 GB RAM 4 GB storage virtual machine; does NOT stress the hard drive constantly; does NOT spend the valuable mobile traffic by sending tons of data to Microsoft.
-
because it was the last good operating system made by Microsoft.

great, you've got the point of the cryptocurrencies, at last! When you own crypto they belong to _you_ not to some "nation" or "FRS"
-
Is it official? Could you share any announcements or documents from SWIFT regarding this? Do I understand correctly that p2p SWIFT transfers are over now? no, it IS an option. After I have cryptos in my wallet _I_ decide what to do with them, not some clerk in the bank. please get a bit less ignorant and learn about different cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin.
-
I thought that you have asked about "how to transfer $100 in the perfect world of cryptocurrencies". If the merchant wants USD not crypto then yes - the total fee will be more than $7. Adding about 4% more for the exchange from crypto to USD and withdrawal to the bank will bring the total commission to more than 10 USD, maybe 500 THB total. But still not $49
-
the fluctuations are visible only on a short time frame, and under "a store of value" I assumed holding it for several years.
-
The fee is so high if you want to buy "right now" and without any KYC-AML-WṪF. If you are not in a hurry you could register on any cryptocurrency exchange such as totally legit and Thailand government approved Bitkub, and buy cryptocurrency with 1%. But it will take a few weeks because of KYC-AML-WṪF
-
4% commission is approx 5 USD, plus transaction fees, so it will be about 7 USD to transfer 100 USD in Litecoins. and the cost of a single Stellar Lumen transaction is about $0.01. I used LTC as an example above only because it is much more simple to buy here compared to XLM. Bitcoin really sucks in terms of transactions, as it is extremely slow (compared to other cryptos, not to the cfking banks) and expensive. It is good only as a store of value.
-
Thanks to our despot I can not open any bank account remotely now, with Revolut and Transferwise being among the first to forbid registrations of the Russian nationals regardless of them not being Russian residents for almost ten years already.
-
So, to sum up the crypto haters world: "if I do not need it then nobody else needs it" - nobody transfers money outside Thailand - even if somebody does then they pay with credit cards - it is impossible that a company outside Thailand does not accept credit card payments - even if it is possible then it's totally OK to pay the bank transfer fee - 10 years ago the bank transfer fee was $10 so today it must be the same - and it's totally OK to wait two days until Monday if it's Saturday

This bank is called Krungsri / Ayutthaya
-
And another funny story: today I was refused to send my fkcing own money to whoever I want. I needed to make a SWIFT transfer to Canada, went to the bank, filled the transfer sheet, and the bank staff said they could not send the money because they want to see a printed invoice from the party I was sending to. "no need invoice if you send money to same passport name, but for different name you need show invoice" In the perfect world of cryptocurrencies I just send whatever amount I want to whoever I want whenever I want, not only on "business hours" with tons of extra paperwork.
-
would you be so kind to show how to pay an invoice to some company that wants a "bank transfer", via the Western Union? 1700 THB is 49 USD so shut the ckf up. -- few months ago I had to pay a €100 invoice via SWIFT because of another idiotic KYC-AML-WṪF policy one European company insisted on SWIFT as a confirmation of my name and address.
-
And when you need to pay a $100 invoice via SWIFT you are happy to pay $50 in fees.
-
lol, that feel when you have participated in the development of crypto long before these "crypto enthusiasts" even knew what crypto is, and now you are an "annoying troll" for them because you write things they do not like and prefer to not know about.
-
you've blocked me because I've found and quoted your old message "I've never bought Bitcoin" straight after you wrote that you've bought Bitcoin. Or vice-versa, can't recall for sure.
-
OK, he paid with THB then, not BTC. Paying in BTC means sending BTC from your wallet to seller's wallet, without any middlemen such as crápto.com or middle-currency such as THB.
