  1. Get a credit card. Watches are a type of jewels with a practical function, some people like that. Myself, I also like the fact I have a little mechanical machine on my wrist - the engineering is incredible.
  2. What did you make of his sudden demotion and move out of the limelight during his previous rise? Do you think he now knows where he can and cannot kick the hornet nests? He's doing good work now, but I think he's been pulled into line.
  3. You are allowed 2 visa exempt entries by land* There is no official limit by air. For the OP: you will be able to get an extension for your current entry at immigration.
  4. This is too low for your subscribed package, even on 2.4 wifi. The problem is knowing whether this is your phone having a poor wifi chip, the router, or your service. Try to get a laptop that can connect with ethernet cable to rule out the possibilities.
  5. heres my guess; (first is easy :)) BH = blackhole DE = Dark energy ? EH = Event horizon ? QM = Quantum mechanics ?
  6. Well done, you understand marketing; company makes 400bhp 600nm truck and advertises it to target audience. this ranger is the cheapest way to a petrol 3 litre twin turbo V6 in the Thai market - it will sell like hot cakes
  7. Why would you want to? its a tiny island with about 5 roads.
  8. Whilst I agree that Phuket taxis cost more than they should, I don't think Bangkok is the right comparsion. I've found that going to any other city in Thailand - Chiang Mai, Udon, Ubon, Pataya - pretty much everwhere where a meter rate isnt enforced, you will pay more than you would in Bangkok. So it seems Bangkok is the exception. not the rule. Another valid point is that most Phuket taxis do not run on LPG - useless for carrying luggage on a tourist island, and as you know every bangkok taxi does. For me; airport to Patong should be 500-600b. Its a 45 min, 40km drive.
  9. A true criminal mastermind; "The suspect had fled to Sukhothai province and was arrested with a 9mm pistol." ????‍♂️
  10. My first sentence says Im working outside Thailand. I can add funds via kbank, that no problem, only I dont need to, I'm not using the number for anything other than recieve SMS. So to maintain validity I take it from the missus' account. It works ok If you're using machines that cost 20% extra to top up your phone, you should use your bank app, its free.
  11. Not a great business model though is it, and he's been there daily for years.... No need to fear everything Larry ????
  12. I've bought Cialis in some of the lower suk pharmacies before, but its very expensive for the Brand name original On the soi 23 side mouth of cowboy - a guy always has a table out selling various pills there - try out his generic versions
  13. The girl on her far left; her dress is a little see through...... ????????
  14. Oh, so you saw a test drive article for the 40th anniversary GTI, on sale in America? Good source ????
  15. is that so?! That would be good news..! do you have a source for that? and a ballpark price?
  16. I've been working outside of thailand for a while now, and so due to not topping up / buying data my validity has come close to running out. For the same reasons (paying bills) I need to maintain this number, so when I get the warning SMS I get the missus to transfer me some of her validity. This is on AIS - so I guess it should be possible on other networks. If the number has truly expired, i.e. its been allocated to someone else, then you need to talk with customer service - even better have your thai partner talk with them. it may be possible to get a new number via e-sim. I got a new phone and had my thai number e-sim added via qr code whilst in europe. The problem will be getting your bank to accept a change of number without visiting a branch in person, and if they wont, getting a new number, virtual or otherwise wont help. so the first thing to establish is whether your old thai number is still assigned to you. If it is, the rest is much easier.
  17. You still do pay it, only its built into your flight ticket, oh, and its 700b now.
  18. As mentioned the usufruct offers less (none?) security between a married couple. This has been through the thai courts, and the divorce was seen to override the Usufruct. I'd like to know if anyone has been granted an Usufruct in Phuket?? - My research so far has shown that the decision rests with the local land office, and they can deny it - so how to know?!? I dont want to go through all the hassle of preparing funds, lawyers etc and then go for the transfer only to find they wont issue an usufruct.... (I'm long term settled, but not married)
  19. I find it interesting, but not surprising how a government news channel uses the language to change the angle some what; “…after police officers from Huay Kwang station were charged with taking a bribe from a Taiwanese actress in exchange for ignoring her possession of a vaper.” kinda sounds like the payment was the vapers idea - like she offered a bribe, and the poor police just couldnt resist..! whereas the truth is, as with every shakedown - they found the leverage, and using the threat of prison extorted 27k.
  20. It should, but doesn't. My brother was fined for no license, but he has a valid uk bike license; they specifically asked to see the IDP. Trying to argue the agreed terms of the convention with a phuket traffic cop won't get you anywhere fast..... It was a ticketed fine, paid at Patong police station, 1000b.
  21. is this a Toyota connection Transam? OP - did you have any joy sourcing a GR Yaris?
