  1. You think the illegal Thai ghosts are paying tax somewhere?
  2. She will be entitled to 50% of the assets they accumulated as a couple - how is he trying to 'rip his wife off'?? Some strange opinions on here - implies that for a women to be in a relationship it's a sacrifice... It's a gamble for both side to commit - why should she be able to cash out too if it fails?? They had a relationship; it didnt work out - why should she have any claim on wealth he accumulated before she was on the scene?
  3. Its seems many have missed the point that the autopsy reported a trace amount of MDMA in her system at the time of death - 0.54 milligrams. Also that she died over 24 hours after the full moon party. (party the 17th, found dead on the 19th, after seeing friends on the 'hungover' day in between)
  4. Well according to the Daily Fail report; The day after the Full Moon Party, on February 17 last year, she had a 'quiet, normal, hungover day' with friends - who did not witness her take another pill. Then, at 9am on February 19, her lifeless body was discovered in bed at Phangan Arena hostel - known as a party hostel - when she did not wake for her alarm. At the Coroner's Court, experts could not determine whether the tablet she took on February 17 was the fatal dose, or whether she took another tablet. Sounds like a heart attack in the days following the FMP.... They say her blood contained 0.54milligrams (540 micrograms) at the time of death. A typical pill contains 150 to 350 milligrams of MDMA. Im not sure her death should be attributed to an MDMA overdose
  5. Living close to easy transport is important for city living. Condos are built close to the transport links - Hence busy zones - the closer they are the more expensive the land is, and thus the condos cost more. Its a trade off for convenience.
  6. video walkthroughs of your home..? More over reach by the idiots that are immigration here. Is it to push you to use agents?
  7. Interesting. This is the first I've heard of the concept of 'common law wife' in Thailand. Is it a thing?
  8. also, try calling them and explain the situation - if a thai answers, then have your missus talk to them. +6623058333 They charge 2000+thb for 5 mins and an A4 piece of paper - I'm not sure why they remove more and more services when its fairly lucrative for them
  9. At which DLT / immigration? Providing details and agent contact may give an option for the peeps struggling with a CoR in this thread.
  10. Last October I got a cert of residence from the UK embassy. I called and explained that I have a vehicle - i need a drivers license (it had long expired during covid), but I wouldnt be able to get one from bkk immigration as I'm not staying 90 days each time. Basically they were my only option. So they issued one
  11. Sounds like a terrible plan! Who wants 9 hours in a taxi after an international flight? Take a flight - Thai smile includes 20kgs
  12. I remember seeing ads for a gogo that advertised rooms upstairs - rooms to stay in, like a guesthouse, but with, as you say, a jacuzzi, nice decor and a 'VIP' vibe... Can't recall the name though ????
  13. before 'jumping down their throats', how about you find out (or tell us) what the issue was?
  14. Some UK banks have an offshore branch based in the Channel islands - I bank with HSBC expat in Jersey. The sterling account functions the same as a uk account, with sort code, direct debits etc. The entry requirements differ between banks, but this is another option. I also have an account with Nationwide, using a family uk address - not had any issues so far after 15years overseas.
  15. I think by 'English' he means... English. St George is the patron saint of England.
  16. So, the dealer ratted him out?
  17. And they ignore it like this...... ????
  18. Not in my experience. The visa start date began from the date of issue, not the according to the itinerary; in our case starting 2 months later.
  19. I've done a few visit visas now, and I find it curious that you cant request a start date. The visa approval can take from 7 days up to 12 weeks - so the embassy advises Thais to apply nice and early, which then cuts into your trip time, and makes planning harder. Either allow a start date, or grant 6 months from date of entry. Seeme too easy ????‍♂️
  20. they talking about extension of a UK visit visa..... ????
  21. The difference is; in Thailand, and most of the rest of the world, mentally disturbed adolescents cannot walk into a gunshop and purchase mulitple automatic weapons and ammo, to then go on and slay a load of innocent kids.
  22. My understanding is how you have explained it, but the OP makes a good point with what he read on the HMRC website - the 2nd paragraph is fairly concise - it doesnt specify between state pension or otherwise This is in the section solely talking about tax on pensions https://www.gov.uk/tax-on-pension/tax-when-you-live-abroad I'm not disputing what you say, but their own website makes it a little unclear.
  23. Interesting. If someone doesnt believe in faires, fortunetellers, santa claus or god they are 'negative people'?
