Kim Jong-un announced that North Korea would be sending a man to the sun within ten years!

Reporter - "But the sun is very hot. How can your man land on it?"

There was a stunned silence. Nobody knew how to react.

Then Kim Jong-un quietly answered, "We will land at night".

The entire audience broke out in thunderous applause !

Donald Trump heard what Kim had said and sneered -
"What an idiot. There is no sun at night time!"

And his people responded with thunderous applause!

Then the Don said when the US goes; it'll be in the winter. And his people went delirious upon hearing such wisdom.

Winning the championship once since 1960 for others!

    Spurs I presume!!

Clubs tend to have cycles where they are either sucessful or not so. Man U have been outstanding since the forming of the EPL as have Arsenal. Liverpool were top of the tree for the 20 years before that. If we are talking recent results then City can be proud. As can a couple of others. It is probably tougher to win the EPL now than at any time.

But Spurs (the millionaire club of its day) did have a couple of good seasons under Bill Nic. Can't easily say why they faded so badly in mid 1960s. It was not the days of big squads and there were a couple of major setbacks to the team.

Two defeats this season and both times Azpilacueta played at right back. Against Burnley there was no alternative, yesterday 2 rbs on the bench. Puzzling, as was not putting Batshuyi on for Morata. Conte outsmarted himself.

Conte was very nagative in my view. Chelsea are the Champions and they let city trample all over them. I guess the strange substitutions were to bolster midfield and get a better possession percentage but I agree with you on Batshuyi for Morata.

  4. Been away in Laos for two days. Just caught up on a few pages of posts. Very interesting! What is considered success? I'm sure Saints and Watford would say they are. But what of Everton?

Is it all about winning the big ones? Just being regarded at permanent top 6 would seem successful to some clubs.

If China wants anything it's for the dollar to give way to the SDR or some other extra-national currency that limits US power. But China wanting their own reserve currency? Why in the *** would they want anything of the sort? That would be terrible for them.

China is moving quietly but purposfully towards the day when it can do deals across the world in it's own currency. It is already but to just a few.

  6. Every time a major international deal is done. Weapon sales, oil, metals etc. it is done in dollars (petrodollars). The US gets a cut and it keeps the perceived importance of the dollar active. Changes are happening now!

Why was Sadam sorted and Libia invaded? The petrodollar! They were selling direct and bypassing the US. Iran is the biggest thorn in US's at the mo'. They will not toe the line over oil and currency and have nuclear weapons. Hence the distasteful but  cosy relationship between the US (and UK) with the Saudis.

How can you be so precise as December,  the petrodollar must be the worlds biggest fiddle..the Americans will do everything in their power to preserve it.

They are doing 'everything in their power' to preserve it but time is running out; fast.

Russia and China are doing deals that by-passes the dollar. Oil is being sold by Iran to both Russia and China for GOLD! The FED is churning out dollars like there is no tomorrow. They are printing money to buy back their own bonds. Saudi Arabia has 3 trillion of US bonds based on the petrodollar (one of two reasons why the US is ass kissing one of the world's worst regeims). The US would not want those dumped on the market.

China will - within the next 8 months - issue a GlobalYuan based on gold. If not fully then partially. Who will want to trade in dollars then?

The infrastructure of the US is in a dire mess. The billions and billions that were invested in fracking is in negative dollar. The US has no gold. What is stored in Fort Knox belongs to the FED which is owned by 21 individuals and banks. Bitcoin is worrying the hell out of Wall street.

    It's all but over!!

  8. Maybe Poch sees that wasting money on over-rated players upsets the club's balance. Would Sterling get into the Spurs team?  Or Sturrige; or Benecke?

All clubs are different. Spurs used to be known as the millionairres; way back.

Yet you had the Trickies to beat Burnley 4-0 at the weekend? Make your mind up:wink:

I'm not too blinkered on the footy. Reality normally kicks in when there's an actual wager. Everton were appalling on Sunday and although it's sad to see the blue half of Liverpool so awful, I was cheered up by the winnings both ways.

You need to get on them then as you can buy them at 89 at the moment.

Yes 89 as you say. But Burnley at 41.5 the best value in the EPL. I have Everton sell at 56.

  11. At the beginning of the season I had City and Chelsea to be contesting for the top two places. How wrong I was in elevating Chelsea to the same level as City. Now the light blues have comfortably beaten the London blues I cant see any team catching them post @@ (can't find the post but ages ago).

Chelsea were a huge disappointment. The reigning champions, playing at home; and SO, SO negative!!!! I've just watched the game and City could have won 3/4-0 and wouldn't have had to break into a sweat. I'll tell you what Conte go and watch Man City at home this year. Not afraid of anyone. Is he trying to turn the Champions into a counter-attacking team? Looks like it to me. If so then why let Salah go?

Man Utd will come to a sticky end at Anfield on the 14 Oct; while City will easily beat Stoke. They should be looking at the record points total this season (95).  Record goals too. The four timer is most definately on; EPL, CL, Fart cup and Milk cup.

Honestly,  you are welcome to your opinion but, aside of Ancelotti (and Benitez who's done his time at Liverpool) i never thought in a month of sundays i read posters on here throwing those names into the hat as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp!!

I agree with you to a point. Some of the Red fans are restless, revolting even, and as the buck stops at the manger's feet it is natural that some are looking to the future. Rc was just speculating! And I responded.

After the Arsenal game we were all smiles. After the Man City match we were down in the dumps. We are crying in our beer right now but the blue side of the city is PIG SICK and rightly so. At least we can smile at their appalling disasterousnss.

We must learn to take a more measured approach. Take the rough with the smooth so to speak. We no longer have the right to look down on the others (from the top) as we were used to for 20 years.

After Man Utd are smashed to bits in our next EPL game the smiles will be back and Kloppie will be top doggie.

We got Ancelotti up for a role in the prem we got benitez showing some proper nous with Newcastle we got Allardyce always looking for a return to the big time. We got redknap who'll be licking his lips at the cash he can get backhanded on a clear out we got got tony pulis looking for hos next 5 year plan friendly chairman we got Jamie Carragher talking but can he really do the walking?

    Good points Rc.

Ancelotti  - I'd rarther keep Klopp

Allardice - and turn the clock back to the 1950s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rednap - turned Spurs into one of the most exciting EPL teams I'v seen. But he can flop also (QPR). Too old now anyway.

Tony Pulis - NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Benitez - now your talking (remind me why he left in the first place)

Jamie - heart is in the right place

Dyche - for start of next season with Jamie as Ass' (unless of course Kloppie cuts the mustard this season).

  14. Where to start!?

By attempts alone Liverpool should not only win but swamp teams. Against Arsenal in the 4-0 victory at Anfield they had 18 attempts with 10 on target. Last night the stats read 17-2. What I saw yesterday was a different Liverpool. They need to have a more balanced approach. Ian Rush was a great goalscorer  but have 10 oufield Rushes might result in a lot of losses.

Most acknowledge that going forward they can be irresistable but they need someone who can unlock the defences. The forwards,. in turn, need to be more aware. Make runs for others; Suarez style. The failure to unlock defences result in frustration and long range efforts. These efforts go onto the tally but it is ineffective football. Especially for Liverpool.

I still can't suss out what Klopp's defensive system is. Sometimes I think it's zonal but when they defend a corner it's more like man-to-man (although only one to defend yesterday).

Generally I feel that the team is all but there, Just get onto the training ground and practice those through balls.

Sturrage for me is not Liverpool quality under the present system; whatever that is. He woud be better suited to Leicester,  Burnley or Watford.

Bit of a 'hoot' with some of your selections Owl, but it's certainly got the natives restless.

Very droll. An attempt at word play, humour even; Like it!!!! More of the same please.

But let's talk about the footy. One respected poster in particular doesn't agree with 8 of my selections. I think that one, for sure, that he is not in agreement with is Man U to lose at home to Palace. If Man U manage to sneak a goal through a dubious penalty in injury time and get a draw; then I'll be wrong. And I'll say so.  I've been wrong before. Not often I grant you.

No!! Palace to win. Woy (and R L-C) for England.

    Only about 8 of them:sorry:

    Good!!

If it was easy to pick the results we would all be millionaires. Last week I did say that there "would be no shocks." This week I think differently. Shocks all round (although the Geordies will not think it a shock to beat 'pool).

It's just so easy to pick the favourites every week.

Check the underline:whistling:....And if, as you now admit, you knew RLC was injured, why mention him in connection with the Man U game...and indeed an England XI for which he hasn't been selected. Don't need your glasses...but wouldn't mind some of your imagination:thumbsup:

I like the lad. I think that he didn't get to play as much with the blues that he should have. Good on the ball. Hard to shake off the ball. Good passer. Should be in the England squad; in my view.

If I may return to an earlier post; are there any predictions that you don't go along with?

Owl if Huddersfield play that game it will be highly entertaining....far better that for the fans than a dismal attempt to win a point!

Overall, Huddersfield deserve to be where they are. Againts Saints and Leicester they were the better team and both matches were positive in the stats camp.

Unfortunate that their main man Mounie is out and unlike the bigger squads do not have a ready-made replacement.

The club have a real tough run of fixtures coming up; starting today. This game will be a real test for them but I have them down for a win; I'll stick with that.

"Palace win! Palace are a lot better than thier record breaking start suggests. They have one of the best managers in the business in Woy. United to have 75% posession and 20 attempts against CP's 4/5. United to get done by two breakaway goals. Loftus-Cheek for the England X1. You should have kept him Chelsea. Class act!"

    :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

    Oh...and RLC is injured.

Lovely blue font and those cute little cartoon men (have to find out how to do that) but is there anything in my predictions that you don't agree with?

RLC is out for a couple of weeks with a thigh injury. I had to change one of my FF teams because of that. If you can't see that he is a class act then you need new glasses. Here,, try mine!
