    I never said it was legal to buy cigarettes and alcohol with SNAP, I said there were stores everywhere where you could. If the law works so well, just make it illegal to spend the SNAP money on anything but food. You know you can used SNAP to buy pop and chips and whatnot, yes?

    Why do you assume the poor are stupid and do not care about their children? There are places everywhere that will take SNAP for alcohol and cigarettes. Sure, instead of getting a case, they only get a twelve-pack, but they do not care. You seem a bit naive. Again. treating parents like children makes little sense to me. Just give them the money.

    Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is somewhat limited, but Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is pretty wide open. WIC is generally given in addition to SNAP. Do you believe poor people do not think their children are important? Again, if you want to subsidize the poor, just give them money and let them decide what's important.

    I did a little research, and the monthly child allowance is not available to everyone, it is only available to parents that pay into social security, and it looks like it's up to B1,000 a month now.

    Had you been following the thread, you would know that my boy was in primary about 18 years ago, and that my wife with the help of my office manager applied for the benefits. I am not sure what all it was, but I know it included a monthly "welfare" payment (I think B700), a uniform allowance I think once a year, and stuff they handed out at school every month or two. It was nothing of significance to me.
