  1. I thought you we are talking about Canadians in general, not "Canadians traveling abroad CONSTANTLY". You're right. I'll concede that it may be hard to distinguish Canadians that travel abroad CONSTANTLY from US citizens that are not from The Northeast, the Southeast, the Deep South, the Midwest, the Southwest, or any large metropolitan area east of the Rockies. We good now? Incidentally, I love the way the girls talk in Connecticut...
  2. Kids in the US can't even ride in the back of a pickup anymore, they have a ball here.
  3. My brother and his family came about 10-15 years ago for a couple weeks, and we all had a good time. I think it's more attractive to people in the US now then it was then.
  4. I disagree. Even Canadians (thick as they are eh) can tell. And it is pretty easy to distinguish different areas of the US.
  5. I can almost always tell people from the US by the way they talk, and often about where in the US they were raised. I can usually tell Canadians, except for Quebeckers, they sound European. It's pretty easy to tell Americans from other westerners in restaurants and hotels, because they are generally smiling and treat the staff respectfully.
  6. I believe the hilarity of this single post has won you my vote for poster of the year. Congratulations!
  7. And even less of what you watch in documentaries.
  8. Thai had BKK-LAX (over Pacific) and BKK-JFK (over Atlantic) non-stops for a few years. I loved the nonstop LAX flight, sorry to see it go. Singapore used to (may still) have a nonstop to Las Vegas that was nice.
  9. Yes, all the blue cities in red states are typically cesspits.
  10. Bummer. Good luck, I hope things take a turn for the better.
  11. Indeed. The rates are usually about if not exactly the same. It is something of a conundrum in that people that use the sites drive the hotel's costs and room prices up, but the extra competition keeps the hotel margins down and price (perhaps) lower than they would otherwise be. If I had to bet, I bet it help the small operators with the bookings but hurts the margin quite a bit.
  12. That has generally not been my experience. I booked a room downtown for last week and it ended up cheaper booking directly with the hotel. The daily rate from Agoda was about the same, but there was an upcharge for an extra bed and breakfast that was included with the hotel booking.
  13. Why not start with a list of FDA approved smart watch with ECG capabilities and find one that works for you?
  14. Either what?
  15. Hmmmmm, all of the sudden no one can read.....
  16. Don't be so greedy.
  17. It was a joke. I don't know about you, but no one could tell me anything, much less some stupid old fu*k claiming to be me from the future. In any event, my poor choices in life were not made in ignorance. Lack of knowledge is (generally) not my dilemma. I can't really think of anything I would take a chance on changing. Getting my foot chopped off in a car wreck in '88 turned to be the best thing that could have happened to me at the time.
  18. I say move it to Turkey. Budget includes dedicated security, airport, communal meals and nice, basic lodging. Every member gets an equal vote. Every country pays a percentage of the overall budget based on population. Any member that does not meet the financial burden does not vote until they are caught up.
  19. Who knows. Does not make any difference for most stuff anymore, but right is better than wrong. At least you have a ground, nice components, and (what looks like) nice heavy wire. Life is good.
  20. What bank do you have a personal account with that allows you to make online swift transfer for $15?
  21. My grandson when he's my age...
  22. They make it up in volume...
  23. No, it's not correct. Disconnect the second receptacle and check that the primary receptacle is correct. Once you confirm the primary is correct, wire the second receptacle the same. Blue is typically Neutral and brown typically Line.
  24. Amnesty International, that's hilarious.
  25. Always put the hospital on a credit card, just in case....
