  1. I always leave an old laptop and old mobile phone and some small cash in old wallet in the motel room in plain view. Hopefully they’ll grab them and “run”, and won’t go searching for the real stuff.
  2. The AU aged pension is about $550 pw and rent (including subsidies) for a 2br Perth unit just 6km from the city would be no less than $400 pw therefore it is impossible to believe that the remaining $150 pw covers your food, utilities .....and... two overseas trips every year!
  3. I pay cheap rent (I don't live in Sydney or Melbourne) Interested to know more about your “cheap rent” in AU please. How much is cheap? House or apartment? Do you have your own lease or share with other/s? How far are you from the nearest city?
  4. And leave 800,000 baht sitting in some TH bank doing SFA? No thanks. Far better that the 800k is invested in blue chip shares in your home country’s stock market. A very small % of the compounding interest/dividends of that share portfolio then pays the TH visa agent fee.
  5. Durian and slim GF
  6. What’s the secret to surviving a drugged-out, drunk, mobile phone-playing, distracted, speeding truck driver slamming into you from behind?
  7. Got luck having your “18 years experience and helmet” saving you when hit hard from behind by one of the many drugged-out/drunk/phone-playing distracted, speeding truck drivers common on Thai’s perilous roads.
  8. Feel sorry for farangs who can’t afford a car on the world’s most perilous roads.
  9. It’s called “speaking from experience” and the aforementioned site works fine in Thailand.
  10. A one-off small fee to find a trusted Thai-based resident. This site works perfectly for pet owners and pet sitters living in Thailand.
  11. “A home is not an Airbnb.” Agree 100%. That’s why home owners like to select quiet-living, matured aged person/s with numerous, checkable references that verifies that the sitter/s will be at home most of the time loving their pet/s and caring for their home… and of course nobody else enters the home with prior permission. Constant communication (including video calls if time zones permit) between all parties during the sit ensures a win/win situation for all, especially for the pets, as they are loved and remain in their familiar surroundings, not at some pet hotel. Neighbours, inspections by friends/relatives and video cameras can also give absolute assurance to the home owner that the home, gardens, lawns, pool etc and their pets are being properly cared for, in accordance with the home owner’s instructions.
  12. 3 months not a problem as house sitting positions can be anything from 1 day to 2 or more years, but generally between 1 week and 4 months.
  13. Travel as long as you want! …long term house/pet sitters (@ no cost) are your friends!
  14. I dog sit professionally in various countries. My favourite breeds: Small - Pugs Medium - Cocker Spaniels Large - Labradors
  15. Millions of motorbikes…and U-turns allowed every few kilometres on every highway in the country. What could possibly go wrong?
  16. Hard to find decent wifi back in the ‘80s. Much better these days making people happier.
  17. …or going to Disneyland and staying on the same ride all day.
  18. You just need a nice car, to look presentable, a dating app to chat/video in advance and be prepared to take her (and perhaps a few of her family) to dinner whilst visiting her town. In return you get your own tour guide and …
  19. Own a car, travelling around the country continuously, bonking everything (with respectable jobs) that moves.
  20. ✈️ Ashes on their way back to Australia. Better luck next time ????. Thanks for hosting it! ???? ✈️ World Test Champions trophy on it’s way to Australia. Sorry you weren’t good enough to make the final ????… but thanks for hosting it! ????
  21. The ‘eye candy’ from the live BBC/ITV studio hosts ain’t too bad either
