  1. Biker combat profile ? Im sure AKA Thailand is happy for the profiling in the news!
  2. You know Thailand, and you might know some of the people who lives here, and frequently visits. Maybe we have to high expectations?
  3. Some questions deserves to be questioned! So what do you think 🤔
  4. what does it really mean to him? He died, and Im sure he do not miss a thing. Brings us back to every day matters, and if you are not happy with what you doing today, do something about it! If I die today, I do not care, but my family will care, so better keep it going as long I can, and in the meantime, make sure everyday means something.
  5. Another interesting question would be, "How many have something to return to?" What other options do you have than living in Thailand? Thats what Im trying to make sure, not become stuck in Thailand if some kind of Ragnarok happens in near future (new pendemic, war, economic crises), and not only for me, my wife to!
  6. No sympathy earned. Only Small old men with no spine left sue prostitutes
  7. Depending of what you are doing of course. But for some work is a lifestyle, and gives great benefits and wealth combined with interesting and challenging days, it can be the drive to not be bored to death
  8. Additionally tax the money you are tying up when you transfer from your origin. Right now I enjoy having a retirement visa, but will not live 6 months or more in Thailand, and because I do not trust the terms of staying being better by the years, I also make investments in Norway to live here as well. So by time we will choose where to stay when we get older. She also needs to live in Norway to obtain a Norwegian passport and earn the right for Norwegian pension, so that will be first priority for the next 5 years. The requirement for her to obtain a Norwegian passport is being married and living here all together for 7 years. So if we have been married 4 years and lived together in Norway the last 3 years, she can apply for her citizenship. There is not only the amount of money you have to tie up that is the bottleneck for me, it is the prosperity and predictability. I believe Thailand will make many changes in the next few years, and I expect it will not be on better terms, and therefore I will not be stuck here with larger investments and as well tax my money on the way back again, and have to restart from scratch if that time comes. I believe my money work better for me in Norway than Thailand Finely after semi retire at 47, I still feel the urge to do some work and Norway is a good place to do seasonal work for good pay
  9. You are proud of sleeping with houndreds of thai/asian women? You must be one kind of a rock star, aint you ? Living the dream
  10. As long I have embassy verification as an option, I see no reason to transfer one year budget at once. Thats why I consequent refuse to pay taxes to this country, because there is no benefits at all when it comes to live here for us expats.
  11. How many years in Thailand? May I ask where you live on your elderly days, and have it been a special woman involved in your life?
  12. I'm not a Uk resident, and pay my taxes to Norway, where I'm part of the social security Folketrygden, and also have an affordable private health insurance connected to I will not give up. As well, I'm still enjoying working as a freelancer. My point was, if I am forced to pay taxes in Thailand, for no benefits in return! Number 5 gives me a very good reason to leave for good, because the single life in Thailand is not as good as some want it to be. But that is me, and my opinion. 1. The girls who are chasing foreigners, I'm not so interested in. 2. The so-called good girls are rather boring in my opinion and if you find a decent one, who is educated, no family burdens, adventurous, the chance she is a real gold digger, is quite high. I had enough one night stands and loose connections during my younger days, and I am quite happy to be in a solid relationship instead of chasing girls during my elderly days. I do not think any other Thai girl can replace my wife, simple as that. And unlike many here I still enjoy my country, have property, some work, and parents alive as well other family Im still socializing with
  13. I was talking about if he thought Hua Hin was crowded 20 years ago, he obviously do not want to much developments around himself, and those beaches we visited during our motorbike trips, was floaded with garbage, especially during low season because of the wind and current drives garbage up on the beaces. Happens everywhere, but most beaches with some tourism being cleaned up realtiviely quick. Worst drawback is the beach fly season on that stretch, and jelly fish However, many nice palces if you have a nice balcony to wathc from and are a morning bird up to see the sunrises.
  14. 1 Yes, forced tax on my transfers and no benefits in return! 2 The heat and less rain 3 Pollution continues 4 Thai baht get stronger and Nok weaker 5 Divorce
  15. oh, Hua Hin was crowded 20 years ago, then, there is many more beaches all the way down to Chumphon with no people on, just garbage. Thats what you face when looking for more remote beaches.
  16. For an troubled mind, just finding someone can add some extra load. Many have thought it was just that easy and burnt themselves. Not only one time. But thats pretty much how it went for me, we went backpacking together, and 8 months later, my third visit, we where a couple and we went and lived with her family for a month almost. That was my single best investment for future, getting to know her family and friends, and stay in her village.
  17. all this sounds good, but without someone to share the experiences with? Most people (at least in my mind and in my social network) just want to have normal days home, and go holidays and adventures once and awhile for the contrasts sake. If you living in paradise, paradise becomes the normal!
  18. Most of my life I was chasing happiness, and I guess I was happy accomplishing my goals, but not as happy as I am now. Older viser more secured, and hope I can maintain this for years to come. I also believe I require less for my self, and expect less from people these days, do not get as much upset by world news or other people anymore. Maybe most important, I have a wife I feel I can live with for rest of my life, who give me alot more than she knows she do and hope she feels the same way. Mutual respect and chemistry and willing to go the extra mile helps. Most important Im not so afraid to fail anymore as I was when younger, and thats a game changer, at least for me. Being bored is part of a good life, because boredom give inspiration to do something about status Q, as well boredom gives contrasts when you make small changes in the daily life. Its all about the colour you painting with to brighten up your days. Happiness is like a garden, you forget to care for your garden,,,,,,,,,
  19. I still have good 25 - 30 years I hope if I live as long as my average in my family, so, we will see, but I do not think I will be in thailand after 80.
  20. And the quality of the cigarettes? I wouldnt smoke any dirt cheap black marked cigarettes if I smoked.
  21. To bad the virus didnt cure stupidity! Some people think they are smarter and stronger than a virus. Convinced snake oil is a good thing, and trust socalled dr's than officially scientists who work with this globally on daily basis.
  22. Hilton used to have one, but havent been there since 2007. I think it is still there, and aften Binta bab closes, everyone who still up gor party goes the the bars underneath the entrance. Never really understood where it is exactly, due to been so toxicated those two times I have been there. Just remember alot of girls.
  23. They are getting there 😉 One day
  24. The rain season is not so good, and got stung by jellyfish a few times before I gave up my morning swim. The morning walk on the beach is great, and meet regulars and also managed to get a few dates when I was still single with a few morning birds. Hua Hin gets boring after awhile to, but can be a great base not to far from Bangkok, Suan Phueng, Kanchanaburi, and great base to travel south by car. Not to forget the train will give great uppertunities at once it is running as planned.
  25. Extremism goes both ways, and why miss out on good quality food be it fresh vegetables, fruit, berries, pasta,,,, with more like legumes, grains, nuts, and seeds. Of course it has an impact on the environment when we are constantly getting more people on this planet, and also getting taller and fatter, and consuming more calories, which need more land. We are like ants, who use all our available nearby resources and need to find new territories and new resources, go to war, and are also forced to change behaviour and find new solutions. You would be amazed how much common human beings and ants share when it comes to structural, social, defence and war behaviour. Some wonder why we are heading towards a more controlled forced government again?
