6 months to live what would you do?
Hummin replied to Sparktrader's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Be with my wife and eat my wife’s food ? Is that acknowledged as two activities? I drive motorbikes, fishing and several other outdoor activities, but if only 6 months left, I would skipped that and stayed as long as possible at our farm in the prime time, and then moved to a apartment or hotel room at the ???? . -

What so special about soi 6 ladies? Never been to soi 6, but it have been a repeated thing everwhere about soi 6, b I really did not get it. Soi 6 is the most dirty soi in Pattaya, and ony the most kinky dirty minds go there? Right or wrong? -
Good, just make sure they have insurance and do not end up in same situation as here where they have your passport as well.

Im not sure chasing ladies would be on top of my list even if I was single. Depending on the illness of course, but I am positive I would not die alone even I was single. I believe I would have topped up those 10k with a huge bank loan on my real estate back home, since no time wasting waiting for they would sell. Spent what I needed, and wife could Keep whats left behind. -

Its a choice we all have, just dont jump off anything or hang yourself in a long rope outside the building structure handcuffed. A few valium, ductape and a plastic bag do a good job without leaving a mess behind you. -
Sometimes changes is good, but radical changes? I do not know, but if you like mountains, stay in a cabin in the mountains, good for you, but trying to escape in a different culture? Joining a tribe, cult or religion? Not so sure. But many had pleasure in learning Thai Chi and Qigong at retreats who offer healthy balanced retreats that do not brainwash you in to a freak.

I witnessed a japanese lady had to pay 50k for the bike a thai lady run over and who left the scene before we where able to take details. The japaneese was dragged 10 meters and almost badly injured, but lucky to only get a few wounds and bruises. Even Police agreed she had to pay, and was not interested in witness statements from me or my wife. The japanese was standing still and 100% thai drivers foult. They used to stay Here 5 years ago. พีเจฟาร์มาซี https://maps.app.goo.gl/iN2ffefNVViJqAi3A?g_st=ic

To be true, I would spend my time with my wife at our farm if it was from now to end of february, and after that a seaview room at Centara in Hua Hin. I do not need much to complete my life at this point. I think that wuld be well spent 10k usd. Maybe a few extasy and a few g of coke would spice it up a bit to with quality wine, chese and import beef and lamb. Yep, -
You find noise everywhere in Thailand. Nothing is more noisy than the outback in tThailand, except Buddha days, funerals, wedding and young monk parties. We live on the border to a national park, and rice fields in front, and the frogs and bugs keeps their own cycles of noise, but I can live with that. I struggle with close neighbors, especially above noise. Double gypsum boards can help from noise, and it is an easy and cheap solution.

Well it is waste of money trying if its not done propely, but if done after the book, its like heaven, and also a great place for surround sound. It can be as bad as one misplaced needle, and you deleted it up. Back in the 90’ies I worked with a guy who soundproofed rooms and studios between my travelling, and I know how good it can be, and absolutely worth every penny if you are bothered with neighbours.

Good point, often we do not have a clue what we really want in life, and my experience life changes when you least expect it for worse or better often depending on the choices and the calculated risk you are willing to take. To much risk as well to little risk doesn't work out well, except you are happy to manage a secured A4 life just to be safe. For many that is enough to maintain happiness, for others not.
-
Are you sure you know what you want, and what did you do to get what you wanted?

Success is when you feel happy with where you are at life right now and see future as something positive. I guess I have been lucky to be able to feel lucky even I had my turns on the rollercoaster as well with ups and downs.

I travelled Chengdu and Chongqing for a project we had, so had a month total spread out in the city and country side. Absolutely adored the country side as well, hitting the restaurants who run out after your order and pick what they needed from the marked. Or the morning ambulant street kitchens.
-
I enjoyed Chongqing kitchen, spicey and pure

Can not dismiss quality food world wide, but I have to say Thailand is one of the few countries I have been to, where I can travel all over and find a decent local cheap restaurant, and I will most likely enjoy some few of their dishes on the menu. Never been to Iran but those Persian reataurants I have come by world wide, and especially Malaysia and Dubai, have given me a very positive impression. Very pure, tasty and delicious. I also enjoy home coocked norwegian food, especially fresh seafood catch by myself, or raindeer, moose, deer, lamb and our own slow grown vegetables of course ecological grown. But the norwegian restaurants, gets my thumbs down unfortunate. To few expensive restaurants, really deliver what they should and what I expect them to deliver.

As a thai family driven plantage who know their work, and have a network, there is possibilities, but on a foreigner scale, I would not even think about it. I looked in to many different possibilities, but ended up with trying to become more self sufficient and learn my area what grows or not, and if the marked changes to be more profitable. If you have personal interest there is possibilities in fruit wines, but it is time consuming, need to be structured, have the will to invest and also to learn the paperwork necessary to produce legally for sale. Mango wine is supposed to be quite good and have a coming marked. Dried products marked is huge, and if good at branding it could be an good export product. But without a family who is dedicated, structured and willing to work hard, then it is a potential loss project.

If we can agree on one thing, or maybe two, then we can call it a day. 1. Success depends on hard work and the will to try to understand what stops you from succeeding? 2. Easy come easy go?
