As a thai family driven plantage who know their work, and have a network, there is possibilities, but on a foreigner scale, I would not even think about it. I looked in to many different possibilities, but ended up with trying to become more self sufficient and learn my area what grows or not, and if the marked changes to be more profitable. If you have personal interest there is possibilities in fruit wines, but it is time consuming, need to be structured, have the will to invest and also to learn the paperwork necessary to produce legally for sale. Mango wine is supposed to be quite good and have a coming marked. Dried products marked is huge, and if good at branding it could be an good export product. But without a family who is dedicated, structured and willing to work hard, then it is a potential loss project.

If we can agree on one thing, or maybe two, then we can call it a day. 1. Success depends on hard work and the will to try to understand what stops you from succeeding? 2. Easy come easy go?

Thank you, just annoying hearing about our illusion and sure it is for some, but still the negative generalization is a bit boring. And sure, things can change, but so far it is good. Still I see and understand other living in poisonous relationships and I just don't get it, but each and one for itself. I did one mistake once by pointing out one where taken advantage of, but I mildly say we do not speak today. His situation is status Q 5 years later

Im happy I am able to think and feel different based on my experiences in life. I had a few relationships that failed of different reasons, but at least I did grow and learn something on the wY, and still do. It basically the same as everything in life, you have to work for it! If you want progression in life and at work, what do you do? You put in the necessery time and understanding to succeed. Comfortable laziness do not take you far

So much negativity when it comes to relationships and women here, and men who live in the past. Nuture negative feelings instead of positive. No wonder it doesnt work. Love needs to be nutured from both parts. Give and take and not so complicated at once you have an partner who understand the same as you and get each others back. The first thing I told my gf, now wife, it is you and me against the world, not against each other. At once we manage and understand that, we will make it if we want. And so far it have stuck with us, and every time we start nagging and being childish we reminding each other what we agreed up on. However it works for us. Just sad to see so many lost souls pouring out negativity day after day.

Another (death) blow to Patong's embattled tourism industry

I guess the money calculated for quality road safety ended up in pockets instead. -

Covid was a temporary pause, and a necessary pause out of many reasons, even how painful it was for many. The tourist machinery had grown out of proportion. -

How much do the average Thai person earn ?
Hummin replied to Baron Samedi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I would struggle a little on 2400,- even we are 30% self sufficient. The main thing is not what you spend on average, but what you have in liquid when you need it. Also money for travel, emergencies, repairs, service, insurance etc -

Well, maybe somebody would find it interesting as an additional information. 150 to 300k is not average income either for any thai, and least say for very few. -

Compared to average foreigners who is a supervisor or working with logistics for factories make 85 - 125k a month. Insurance, flight back home, holidays, and other personal agreements + bonuses. -
An objective or subjective opinion? No matter what you choose there is minor differences based on prise and model you choose. Honda is known for <deleted> suspension by western standard, because they are not made for 80kg+ and a additional pillion 50kg and up. Cant really say I know much about Yamaho, but have a few 1000km on different 150’s and it was not much better than a honda suspension, and to be true, the quality did not feel any difference either.

Who has retired to other Asian countries?
Hummin replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I try to live cheap and simple most days, therefor Thailand is a great place, and keep my backdoor open just in case. You never know whats going to hit you sooner or later. -
All my life I have falled in love in women and all of them in the very first minutes. Some I had the pleasure to get to know, most not. Easier to to get distracted by women you are not in love with, than those you get in love with. First thing I had to learn as very young was to stay cool, and not show my desperation.

If you are a good person, the reward is the goodness might live on after you have died true people who learned goodness through you. There is many ways to heaven, but it might not be eternal life for us. If I somehow impacted someone in life with just trying to do my best, I would be happy to die knowing I did change someone's life.

Thank you. If I felt more negativity about thai society than positive, I would not live here, and relocated. But to me it seems those who is utterly negative to their home country, also comes out loud about the thai negatives but still enjoy cheap lifestyle and exploiting their women. Not everybody, but quite a few I have met on my way. But thank god, most of them I socializing with, is positive people who do not complain to much, but it only takes one to poison the the atmosphere.

The difference is, you can travel all over Thailand and no one bother you. Police is friendly and not been a hassle to me even I have travelled around Thailand for 20 years on motorbikes. Got a few speedtickets that was well deserved, thats all. On Phil I did not felt as free to travel where I wanted, and walkimg alone in the cities did not feel safe at all. A bit more like Brazil, you needed to know where to walk and not to walk. -

For me from Europe it was 6 hours longer flights with two changes, and the infrastructure, safety, poor beggars as well food knocked me off. It doesnt apply to me to live in a country with so much poverty as Philippine or Cambodia. -

Thailand is easiest country in my opinion to be retired. Considering infrastructure and quality of living. At once you manage to have retirement visa, it is no hassle at all to renew every year either even I continue to hear complaints here at AN. The drawback now is Flight tickets is more expensive and Norway do not have direct flights anymore post covid, and was one of the reasons I found Thailand as an better option than Phil for an example. -
If you not sure, you are sure! Rule nr 1 when investing in appartment or girl friend.

Thought we where talking about normal things thais do, not the science behind it ????

Surgical mask makes perfectly sense in traffic Because of pollution, as well they where forced to use masks by the authorities. I used helmet but no mask while riding, but for thais to use mask is not that complicated even before covid it was normal many cities also in villages when somebody had a cold or flu.
