  1. I had breakfest at Hayatt airport, it was okay, actually. Fish, fruit, rice, smoked ham, diverse cheese, coffe. Coffe was very good.
  2. Auch, that was a though one, are you okay now?
  3. If they recomend me to take the shots, I will, but as far I know, Im not in the risk zone, and have the first two shots only. Never taken the flu vaccine, but if for some reason needed, I will. I have taken all the vaccines as the child, and also recomended travel vaccines programs for the countries I visited. My father have always taken all vaccines he is advised to take, and now annually takes the flu shots for two decades, and also since covid taken the covid and boosters. Still healthy man close to his 90'ies now, still driving car and still travel Europe. I feel sorry for you who are dedicated to false and misleading information that can in much higher grade kill people than save them. There is no question vaccines saves people, and mistrust is a disaster for the world population in general. For your sake, Im not that worried, just the harm you and everyone with you
  4. I thought it was the dr who did so, not the nurses?
  5. Comming from Usa and Europe/Scandinavia is two different things, and I can understand your view of it. As long you have founds and decent income/pension, it is a great life here for most. I just feel I have better options back home not being completely retired yet.
  6. The rent back home is the same as their average pension now, if not willing to live more in rural districts. Deposit is 3 months up front pluss first month rent. Electricity is skyrocketing, gasolin, insurance. I would say, you are ine in few who could manage. Im just happy I did not cut all my bridges and left my country completely.
  7. I see those of the foreigners who are most social, are social through activities such as motorbike riding/tours, golf, pool/dart/cards, watching football in their favorite bar and of course through alcohol and later weed. When living in Hua Hin, I met people through the interest of motorbike, and also going to the same gym frequently at the same times 4-6 times a week, but if you are not much in to socializing around alchohol m, there is not much options really anywhere in the world if you do not have any spefic interests. One olace to socialize if you are a social decent human, is to live in specific MoBaans where you often finds people mostly settled from one country more than others, and also specific restaurants with one nationalities visiting. The older we get, the more we have certain preferences, and we know what or who we want to share time to with. Tired of solving world problems, talking about emigration, drink to much, sit with smokers when you do not smake yourself, and dopeheads is useally somewhere else in the conversation than you are if you do not smoke weed yourself. So without any special common interests, you end up talking about the weather, or the same same you talked about yesterday. Being in a small village in Isaan, the last thing you want, is the be stuck with people you have no common interest with, who just shows up when they think it is time for it. My wife is not that social either with girls with foreigners, so we both are on the same there. We do hook up when there is birthdays and pay respect during funerals or any other special day where it is natural to socialize.
  8. I dont think you know how many here only lives on their monthly transfer and no other safety net. If I had sold everything I had, and wanted to go back now after 8 years, it would had been almost impossible to have a decent life there, if I had no savings or property, even I still have a decent paid job. It would be a set back until my wife had full time work. The living costs is to high now for average pensioners to resettle with dept and have to buy basics stuff, not to mention clothes for all seasons
  9. We all do, for good and bad, and really not anything that concerns me. Not really connected to where they are from. I remember 10001 even more 😁
  10. Touche 🤣 Life as freelancer is the best 🤓
  11. Are you sure everyone can? After they burned all bridges back home, and invested everything here, left with montly pension only to live from? If something happens, and they are cut off from their pension, what then? Thai bath doubles? They change requirements for visa? Their wife who they invested everything in, leaves them?
  12. Everyone is different, and being able to hook up with her have been truly a blessing. As said he did a grest job teaching her basics European lifestyle, and more advanced language skills. Some other foreigners aint all bad, it just didnt work out for them for some reasons. On the other side, I couldnt be with a thai girl who I could not communicate with, or had no experience with foreigners, and knew what to expect. Also it helped her mom did not look for sin sod, or she had kids from before. I actually asked her mom first time when meeting, what she expected from me.
  13. I have gone back home, just here for holidays now.
  14. Also my experience working freelance offshore.
  15. Oh my, oh my, aint you funny 🤣 Your post is self explained. Its a hard lesson to learn when you put effort in to someone, and they leave you for another. Sorry, a though lesson, hopefully for the better
  16. The white looks like tylenol And some antibiotics my wife best guess. @Sheryl
  17. I convinced her I was a better option than her fiance. 10 years no regrets Really did not need to be convinced, they had enough story together and she had already left him, but he continued to promise her things would be different in future. Some people really do not know what they had, before its to late. Anyway, she gained hips of experiences, and also he teached her alot, fluent english, cooking, enjoy good wine, and about in general europeen culture. He did a good job actually
  18. Lived with sex workers and other service workers in Patong, and this is true for most girls who date foreigners in tourist areas. New options comes and goes until some of them meets one who is willing to be responsible and take care. Anyway, it doesnt mean they stop doung what the do, if not together 24/7 Many girls hae side hustle collecting school fees, uniforms, medicstion, language schools, to options is endless
  19. Nr 1 You need to be a nutter in the first place moving to Thailand, especially if it leaves you with no possibility of return back to your orign country. Those who understand, knows what I say, those who don't, will hopefully never know my reasons If you add house in wife's name, car, motorbike, and only surviving on monthly transfer from givernment pension found. Good luck
  20. This got 4 negative reponses, says alot about the forum, and who they are
  21. I speak more to my dogs and cat than any other foreigner when back in Isaan. when traveling speaking occasionally to Thai and tourists, but very few expats living in Thailand. Expats who Mostly are nutheads, potheads, sexpats, and politically twisted and or conspiracy experts seems the drain me for energy at once they gets going, and it doesn’t take long time before they expose themselves one way or the other
  22. Wife and me travel back and forth untils she have emigration visa based on marriage. Takes 16 months
  23. Most interesting is when you get negstive feedback for updates and personal experiences that can help others like here https://aseannow.com/topic/1358135-thailand-digital-arrival-card-tdac/page/8/#findComment-19795097
  24. One solution, is to have only positive emotions, and if someone needs to express negativity against the posters, they actually have to write one with words, and express why.
