  1. Koh Larn where you get the Island feeling and short ferry trip to the mainland if you need a brake. I enjoyed Koh Tao and Koh Phangan for many years, but it all about what you want to do.
  2. When we where building I bought everything needed myself, and if he ordered something I payed and got the reciept myself. He useally took the added bonus when he ordered, but useally some crappy <deleted> I did not want or needed.
  3. Quality wood doors is expensive indeed, and a good reminder to to be on top of every little detail when building a house and buy what you think are important yourself. I would ask for the reciept
  4. Just imagine if you (wife) own a small farm, do not drink, smoke or eat cheese. Live almost for free ????
  5. One thing, I feel connected to my nature and the nature that surrounds us. Not so much outside planet earth, but I'm fascinated by what we discovered so far, but still so distant. Personal experiences I'm aware of is strong stuff and no joke to ☺️ But I can't explain it with words, because it is inside me and a good safe place to be.
  6. You are right, and I also had an ironic twist on it. Whole American continent, Australia and New Zealand is ruled by immigrants! Some will say parts of United Kingdom is overruled by aliens from England.
  7. To me it was a well planned coup by using the court. It is up to each and one of us to decide what we want to believe is the truth or not, but the fact is, Thailand is run by the Army and if there is going to be another elected prime minister, he or she have to run by the rules set by the generals, if not, they know the consequences.
  8. Interesting, where quite a few western countries is run by immigrants.
  9. He was legally elected prime minister two times in Thailand for then be overthrown in a coup by military. His sister the same, legaly elected and overtrown by military. Seems someone forget the facts
  10. Are there other humans like us in the universe?
  11. God as “uknown” I can agree. To many who are to sure they are right about god, and what god is, and I continue to say as sure as they are, nobody who is walking this planet know the real truth, they believe, thats all. We know through history how easily we are manipulted, and still we find new truths without any evidence. I do not doubt there can be a god, but Im not sure either. I am olse quite positive there is no consequences in not believing n any god either. The consequences is made up by humans exploiting human minds in their search for power. Obviously working pretty good, as in our genetic memory, we already fear the unknown. @Tippaporn are you okay?
  12. We all have the tendency to look at our own situation in presence and claim we are safe, even again many expats do have their income in other currencies, have not much savings and no health insurance as well claim to live in another country than they do. Where is your safety net? I know you from many posts here, and you are a person who live now, and not tomorrow, and claim you do not worry. Im I right? Another thing, the usd is now record high at the moment, how long will that last? We are all vulnerable to what happens back there where we come from.
  13. Then you are not one of those who do not regret. Myself moved here 5 years ago, but still keep my gate open for return. It is a lottery. Who knew Swiss franc would double, and Thai baht almost half from when I first start visiting. Covid, conflicts, everything can change quick.
  14. As long it is Status Q it will be good in the future, but we cant tell or predict how it is going to be. Those who moved 10 - 15 years ago, did not predict the strong baht, and many regret today they sold everything they had, and invested in a life here. It can be better, and it can be worse. So far I agree
  15. Thats interesting thinking, because I believe if I have hand full of bouncy balls, and drop them from a fixed hight, there is no fixed order where each and one of them will end up. Everything dependes on so many different uncontrolled factors, such as wind, wind resistant, their shape, ground floor where they hit, texture and many more things right? If the balls landing on lets ants, would you say it is not randomly ants that would be hit, but before it happened, it would already be a decision behind it who and how many who would be impacted? I understand the big picture of order n the universe, but not on the individual plan! Thats where I am lost.
  16. Maybe we are just able to overthink in our search for the truth, and become blind? Asteroide is a random happening and not a planned event for the earth? I think we both agree on this one. Earth adjust to random happenings, yes.
  17. That I really do not know, I it can be true, as much it can be wishful thinking. Im not ready to separate us from the animals yet, even we from our point of view seems superior, but that could be because we just do not know better. Other animals also live complexed lifes and communicate with each other, even they do not write poems as far we know. Well at least we know they do not write them literally ???????? Hover as said, many specious live complex lives and know to build complex structures, as well perform complex mating rituals.
  18. Maybe not as robot we used to think about, but again, all animals have genetic preprogrammed memery from they are borned because it is critical information we need to survive in the beginning. Instincts and reflexes as well. So if that is a robot in flesh and blood, we might be.
  19. I believe we put much in to our presence on this planet in this universe we are living in. We are most likely not important at all, and just another specie in time that finely will disappear and new life forms will dominate for the next chapter in time. There is no lesson to learn, we just do as we are programmed to do. To simple? Maybe boring explanation Navigation system of brain cells decoded Hardwiring of the brain is genetically pre-programmed, study shows https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/10/171025105041.htm
  20. Could be I start a class how to handle slik dogs the best way for both parts. I'm walking alot with and without dogs with my dog in leash meeting packs of soi dogs, and never had one bad incident. Alot of noise but just normal dog behaviour. At once you understand the dogs nature, you will be fine, but a person on bicycle will always be a target for dogs and only solution is to out "run" them or stop and walk the bike out of their territory. Good luck
  21. Missing a few emoji's ????????
  22. A normal bamboo/wood walking stick does the the same job. Just be aware some dogs get provoked, and that could be the dog that will attack you. Normal dogs will stay away as long you stand your ground and talk calm to them. The more afraid or aggressive the more you can trigger the dogs. If you have a stick, be calm and just lift it above your head, no need to shout or act like an idiot.
  23. If there is a god, a good force, consensus will they be able to stop the potential nuclear war? If they/them/it/he/she can do, why not do they interfere? If you are an believer in an almighty creative god, why do they not interfere and stop this craziness? Doesnt this put your faith to an ultimate test? Nature do not care, nature goes on whatever happens, and change is not a decision, it is created by randomly happenings changing the environment and it adopts. What do you think?
  24. They figured out N-Z and Australia as the two safest and best places to live if a nuclear war would happen in Europe and Us. Easter islands and Antartica is also mentioned, but if I was thinking about it, and worried enough, I would head that direction where I might manage to get retirement.
