Thailand Post to Hike Fees Again as Costs Rise
John Drake replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No objection from me. Thai Post delivers quickly, and is easy and friendly to deal with at post offices, and easy for me to track down any problems. Last time I had a problem was 2018. Since then everything arrives on or ahead of time. Great service. -
Visa Reforms Boost Thai Tourism, Chinese Visitors Surge 26%
John Drake replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand only cares about its exports to the US, not its tourists. -
Next, ole Elon will start banning or removing the verified check mark from Reform Twitter/X accounts that disagree with him. Just like he did all the anti-H1B accounts in the US. Elon Musk in all truth is a poorly educated human being. He's done wonders with SpaceX, which I applaud, but he's just a science fiction nerd who probably hasn't read a real book in ages. His entire world is imaged by reading Twitter/X.

Holy Rigatoni! Is "authentic" Italian food actually American?
John Drake replied to Jingthing's topic in Political Soapbox
Along with peppers. So if you like peppers on your pizza, or tomato sauce (or pineapple), your Italian pizza is American in origin. -
Thailand Develops Cyber Fraud Insurance Amid Rising Cyber Threats
John Drake replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What about individuals? Or would that pay off about as well as the Covid insurance that went belly up? -
What is Elon doing? Imagine if he goes ahead with his X payment system and you sign up for it and then post something he doesn't like. He'll cancel your check mark verification, refuse to allow you to contact X because you don't have a verified check mark, lock up your money, turn off the chip in your brain, and lock you in your Cybertruck until it explodes.

Loomer is a looney. But she did absolutely nothing that justifies what in effect is a shadowban because she disagreed with Elon on H1Bs and tried to build opposition to Elon's candidate to become Trump's AI adviser. Meanwhile, guess who is running point to defend Musk on this issue? Alex Jones. Yes, Alex Jones, who should be in the booby hatch.
-
First, he removed the blue check mark verification of accounts that disagreed with him on H1Bs. Next, he changed his personal account so that only people with those blue check marks could reply to him. Now, he is censoring people for being "negative," as defined by Elon Musk. Elon makes Jack Dorsey look like Thomas Jefferson.

Only need to buy a majority of the people of voting age. Might get it for a lot less than that. Bidding war between China and Trump.

I see that Greenland's prime minister, Mute Egede, is now calling for independence from Denmark and insisting that Greenland is not for sale to Trump. Another big mouthed blunder from not yet president Trump. There are around 50,000 people in Greenland. Once independent, China could probably step in and offer each one of them $50 million to kick out the US military base already there and replace it with a Chinese one devoted to Greenland's "independence" and "prosperity."

Thailand Aims to Woo Elite Tourists Amidst Regional Rivalry
John Drake replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not until the air is cleaned up (and this is a regional problem, too). -
Proof that Democrats are just as brainless as Republicans. Yes, these charges have looked suspect the entire time. And I'm no Trump supporter. I wish he had been knocked out of the race at the beginning. And you know what? He was largely on the way to being pushed out, when all these court trials started generating sympathy for him. Then, worse, while the trials were going on, the judges issued gag orders, which only helped Trump, because he couldn't say stupid things. Now, just when the H1B issue is revealing how he was bought out by Elon, here comes another act of judicial stupidity that will erase that topic and once again get him favorable polls. All when he should be getting hammered on going back on his word and previous campaign promises.

Bank of Thailand Boosts Mobile Security with New Transfer Limits
John Drake replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And that's the problem in a nutshell. Thanks. -
Bank of Thailand Boosts Mobile Security with New Transfer Limits
John Drake replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well, I'm not worried about some silly motorbike. I'm worried about going into a hospital, as I did a few years ago, and needing to get kidney stones removed. I pay in cash and only operate in cash. And its cost was a lot more than 50,000 for kidney stone removal. What do I do next time, have them wheel me while I'm in agony to the nearest Bangkok Bank/SCB branch to get the money first??? -
Keir Starmer and Elon Musk Clash Over UK Investment and Policies
John Drake replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Anything to change the subject from H1Bs. -
Musk is childish and immature in many ways. Now, he's got a taste of power and like a greedy kid wanting more and more chocolate cake, he's jamming it into his mouth and smearing it on his face. Vivek OTOH appears to have figured out to shut his mouth and disappear until things simmer down for him. Musk keeps yelling and screaming.

Trump on Immigration: "We need a lot of people coming in."
John Drake replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
You are just hopelessly stupid. -
Trump on Immigration: "We need a lot of people coming in."
John Drake replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
I don't think 42 percent is very small. I could be smaller, however, were Big Ag forced to pay what American workers demand and, failing that, invest in technology for automated harvesting. USAID has been providing automated harvesting equipment for Central America for 25 years. So far, Big Ag has found it's cheaper to keep hiring illegal labor than invest in modernization. They should be encouraged to do the latter, with enormous fines for hiring illegals. -
Trump on Immigration: "We need a lot of people coming in."
John Drake replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
We already have them. Otherwise, the American workers required to train the H1Bs before being fired wouldn't have been able to do the job before the H1Bs arrived. Trump knew this and campaigned against H1Bs in 2016 but got bought off by Elon, Vivek, and others such as Thiel. Too many in maga are simply attached to a man, instead of policy, beliefs, and positions.
