Actually very well connected, and gets the job done well, every time. Management however needs to work on their staff training, one time I was sent to the bank and told to sit, then after an hour, told I need to take a number "when I came in", which is just utter stupidity, coz I could have saved an hour sitting. A news report says he was in transit through Doha, so why did they check or open his bags, which should have been checked through to the UK? Was he carrying it on him? If so, it would have been a very small amount, and extremely stupid of him to do, whilst transiting through Qatar. For that small amount carried on him, threats and coercion make no sense.

Just get into one of the big condo parking using BS smooth talk and go to the bottom end of the lot, leave your contact on a piece of paper visible on the dasboard. I doubt you will get a call. Enjoy your trip.

Almost daily, I find helpful and kind local people everywhere in this country. This starkly contrasts to (mostly) foreigners who I suspect reside here grudingly, and either ignore your smile, or straight out give you dirty looks. But, if I've got the time, I find the inevitable opportunity to get ahead of him, and then, I slow down, slower than them. They move to the left. So I proceed. Then, sure as s$%t they will get back into the fast lane, and drive slow, so I have to slow down again, until they move to the left. Then move on. IF I have the time and patience to teach these imbeciles what the fast lane is for.

I didn't realize there were Thai Immigration Officers present 24/7 at Manchester Airport. I suppose you have never met anybody in your life who lies to "save face"? There is a definate benefit to the airline to throw a couple people off, for frivolous reasons, if there was over-booking.

Ludicrous that Thailand will prosecute somebody for a crime not committed in Thailand. At most, legally, they could deport him to Malaysia to face the alleged charges. THIS is the key point, along with he being 83 years old, no money to his name, I only FEAR for what could happen to him were he picked up and put in a cell. Yes, my suggestion of getting the F out immediately at all costs using any means is drastic, but it is the cheapest method, and (hopefully) avoids him spending time in jail, which would probably kill the guy.

Suggest he get himself out of the country asap, using dubious means. Next door in Vietnam or Cambodia or Laos, he could live a life, far better than in Bangkok Hilton where he will end up, if he decides to continue living here, sad, but true.
