  1. In Chonburi, the lack of transportation facilities, and information about existing ones, is non-existant! Travel comfortably? Are they talking about calling a Bolt taxi? Because public transportation is simply not accessible to short time tourists, due to lack of information. 1- Baht buses don't even have a small sign to state where they are going, nor the amount to be paid. Would cost a few baht to put up, if the Mayor or others were interested in tourists "comfort". 2- Same with the "white" buses plying Sukhumvit occasionally, even I, after months here in Pattaya, have not dared to get on one, because I am simply not aware of where they go, and what they charge! Do you think a tourist here for only a few days will go around trying to find out all these things, which should be readily available by way of a simple sign on these buses, or the roads they travel on?
  2. In both scenarios of this situation, I see the swiss guy as totally guilty. 1- A foreigner living in Thailand, being the first to become agressive and violent over no provocation from the Thai person. 2- A man who does not have enough compassion in his soul to simply allow a couple of women to peacefully sit on "his" steps facing the beach because they were a bit tired. If there is a recording of the altercation, and if the guy and his (Thai) wife also abused these girls after the kick, methinks they are going to see some not so comfortable time behind bars, because of the media attention this has generated.
  3. I don't think the government needs to do anything, by year end most of the ganga shops will all be bankrupt. That's what happens when you put a shop selling the same thing every few meters away. Not enough customers to sustain the number of outlets presently operating within yards of each other.
  4. You're not there? Scott, you needed an exclamation mark after your brief comment.
  5. I think it would have helped if you mentioned which airport / border you were "almost" refused at.
  6. Very surprised at Sri Lanka doing this, because they are in China's pocket, not so susceptible to Russian Gov't influence. But then, money must have changed hands between ministers, to the detriment of Russian civilians avoiding the "war". But in Sri Lanka, there was an uproar at Russian "tourists" running businesses, some even excluding the locals from their bars and restaurants, so methinks a huge warning should be issued on arrival in Thailand to all Russians to avoid going into business here, lest a similar fate befall them here!
  7. When you do dangerous activities like this, is there not a part of your brain that recognizes there is inherent danger involved? Would you not do exhaustive research first, via internet sites to learn how to do such an activity safely? She participates in a dangerous activity, breaks her leg, and then begins to blame traffic, the hospitals, and of-course the owner of the business along with tom, dick and harry, but does not bother to point the blame where it belongs, to herself!
  8. It wasn't just the CCTV, the fact that she said she left "immediately", and actually stayed 13 days according to immigration records proves her to be a liar. So she did "defame" Thailand's immigration dept. and I would not be surprised if she finds herself behind bars the next time she visits.
  9. I think TAT only needs to consider opening up 30 days visa on arrival, for a fee, to almost all countries except those with known propensity for exporting criminals (i.e. Nigeria), and then, making two types of extensions available, 1 month for the normal fee, 3 months for a higher fee.
  10. Anybody know of any dealers who will take a transfer of USD from my Wise USD account and give me USD cash? I need to go on a trip abroad, and would rather not exchange $ to Baht via Wise, then once again convert Baht to $ cash. Thank You!
  11. Cards are not yet issued to accounts opened from Thailand. I too, was shocked upon opening an account with Wise a few days ago, and also transferred money to myself and received it within seconds! But what blew my mind was that the money was transferred and put into my Bangkok Bank account in the middle of the night!!!! Previously, all monies I received via bank transfers was at the mercy of exactly when the staff at head office felt like depositing it, morning or late afternoon, and then after closing, it was game over for that day, and we'll try again tomorrow!!!! Having money transferred from both Canada and the States to my Bangkok Bank account at all hours, 24/7 is a game changer! Go Wise!!!!
  12. You seem to think that you automatically "have" a single entry with your one year visa. You do not. Please note if you leave the kingdom without any type of re-entry visa, your residence visa is void, and you will have to apply all over again. Get a multiple entry at any immigration, or at the airport before you leave.
  13. I would suggest that you do not follow all the others (normal Thai business strategy) but do something different. Either rent 3 wheelers, or electric bikes, or both, there is a market for rentals of all of these, but not readily available.
  14. I have used the rubber stamp signature route on many occasions in many countries, and most of the time it worked fine. There are even really small signature rubber stamps, and some even look like a regular pen! I would get one and try, they are not expensive. I will try and research where to get them in Thailand for you.
  15. During covid, it took me approx. 16 hours to fly to Thailand from Sri Lanka, and it cost a fortune. Now, and before covid, the flight is under 4 hours, and costs a pittance. Letters, I believe, use airplanes too, so obviously there would have been a huge delay during covid.
  16. Oh God no! If you open Thailand to the Indians who are presently visiting, you would have to rethink your traffic patterns, because they mostly prefer to walk on the roads (in Pattaya anyway) and cross whenever they feel like, oblivious to oncoming traffic, and of-course, we all know about the 5 straws for 1 coke stories in the bars, etc. Myself, Indian origin, but totally disgusted at the snail's pace at which they are adapting to international society norms!
  17. Personally, I am saddened by the drastic change in London, which was predominantly "white" while I lived there in the early 80's, never really having to worry about crime, even to the extent of not having to lock my front door, to what is today, a crime infested city where many areas, there is not a caucasian to be seen! By the way, I myself have "brown" skin, but lived most of my life in Canada.
  18. I have no love for American military agression, epecially in cases like Libya, where the people actually loved Gaddafi, and he provided many things for his people including free education, medical, etc. and everything went to <deleted> after the States got involved, and the people are still suffering. Likewise, Iraq, which was far better off before the US got involved and continued the "war" even after they had thrown them out of Kuwait, at which point they should have stopped, as point made, no agression against neighbors allowed. But they continued, and now, the country and people are infinitely worse off than before. BUT in the case of Hamas vs Israel, let's not forget that the agressors were the Palestinians, going into Israel, and killing innocent CIVILIANS mostly, and the point needed to be made, once again, that agression against your neighbors is simply not going to be tolerated, anywhere in the world. Yes, the actual cause of the hatred was Israel taking over Palestinian land, and curtailing their freedoms, etc. not allowing them to have a recognized indepedent "state" etc. all of which could have been managed without difficulty, and would significantly lower tensions, which would have made this war never happen in the first place. But make no mistake, it was the Palestinians who started the fight, I think knowing full well that they could not win, and it would be by and large their people who would suffer the brunt of the retaliation, and said, f*** it, lets go kill some Israeli civilians. And now it's the Palestinian people who are paying the price, for mostly supporting Hamas. What can you do?
  19. I am looking for anybody who is currently mining bitcoin (or other cryptocurrency) to increase our ability together with better equipment. I was mind-blown today with an article which said it is possible to mine one bitcoin in 10 minutes, and as most know, one bitcoin is now worth over a million baht! A million baht in 10 minutes??? I put this in Pattaya forum because I would like to meet anybody doing it already, or has knowledge of how to do it efficiently. Thanks!
  20. Some of you may remember the ruckus when some tourists wrote a review of a hotel in Koh Chang. The topic came up again recently on AN so I decided to have a look at how the hotel was doing now. Have a look. Methinks the tourist got the last laugh?
  21. Admin, how many times do you have to troll before being banned? Because I keep reading troll messages from the same few fellows over and over again, it's frustrating!
  22. It appears to be gross negligence by the cops for removing his handcuffs. Failure by the supervising officer to admit fault is also reprehensible. And finally, what is the purpose of interviewing the subjects first, why not arrest him on suspicion and then do what needs to be done afterwards? Only compounding their mistakes by giving him ample time to abscond to another province, or country!
