The Gold enigma.

Where else are the central banks going to get large quantities of gold? -
Just read a thread about B-Quik, ok, my personal experiences just in the last 30 days: B-Quik, front shocks, 8000+, Honda service centre, 7000, amazing, ain't it? Sirikit Government Hospital, full abdomen CT scan, 19,500 Jomtien (private) Hospital, 18,600, amazing ain't it? Room air purifier, exact same brand, Homepro 9,000 and Lazada 4,800 what a shocker! Friend just bought tickets Bangkok - Krabi return, 8000 per person x 6 from a travel agent. I peeked online and see tickets on the exact same dates, same class of service, for under 3000 per person! And the GF says you get what you pay for, wants to shop at the most expensive stores for clothes, 90% polyester, cheap as sh*t material, costing 3000 for a top. TIT, guys, shop around, pay what you want, but I think the key word is, in LOS, shop around!

Ok, an excess of alcohol, plus the extra spicy food in Thailand, seems to have got me, with severe GERD (acid reflux), and ulcers too. So, I spent many thousands running from pillar to post trying to resolve this medical issue. Amazingly, the best hospitals here (Bangkok Pattaya), seem to have the very latest in GERD treatments like FIP (Fundoplication) which is a type of surgery performed through an Endoscope into the mouth and down to the stomach, but they don't have a much older procedure which is cauterization of the ulcers through the same procedure! Strange. So basically my search in Pattaya to a solution to the problem has ended, and now I shall proceed to Bangkok hospitals to see if any of them can help with the ulcers. Anybody had similar problems, and any possible solutions (Sheryl?). Thanks, and happy Songkran to all.

Thai monk allegedly rapes woman, demands she divorces husband
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I too, don't for a second believe it, because she herself said she did not have sex with her "husband" for over a year! Something is seriously wrong in their relationship, and if sex was offered to her by the monk, she may have jumped at it. The "monk" announcing to the world that he wants her and their baby shows much more of a love and consensual relationship rather than any type of rape. -
Boy, 11, declines HIV test knowing partner’s positive status
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
One can only hope that somebody in authority takes notice, and starts some long required program of sexual health awareness for kids, to try and bring to an end this ridiculous situation of almost every girl over 16 having a kid, and no father. Almost makes one cry, honestly! -

I think a step in the right direction, but poorly thought out. First, the Government should have invited the biggest players in the drug dealing business, to negotiate rates, and quality of product. Of-course, with the caveat that they will only sell to the Government and not direct on the streets. Then, open outlets all over the province, and sell proven safe drugs to those who need it. Most, if not all overdoses take place due to differences in quality, or poor quality "additives" which should be controlled first. Let the bashing begin....

"Foreigner quota"?
CanadaSam replied to DLButler's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Just to add, foreigner quota condo's are quite often pricier than thai owned ones. -
I think there is some confusion here, there are portable aircons, and portable air coolers. The air coolers are basically useless, the aircons have a huge pipe that you must vent to outside. As others have said, a normal split unit ac is the way to go.

Wart removal with Gillete Razor and Whiskey
CanadaSam replied to rexpotter's topic in Health and Medicine
You will likely spread the wart around by trying to cut it off yourself, in slices. As Sheryl suggested, cryo is the best, fastest, and most effective way, why do you want to do it Bangkok Hospital, knowing they are the most expensive? Find a cheaper place, even a roadside skin clinic should be able to do it for you, for maybe a couple hundred baht. -
Kick backs for condo renovations
CanadaSam replied to samtam's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
This would trouble me a lot more than the extra amount to be paid for the "bribes". As you seem to be "friends" with the contractor, I would simply ask him if these bribes affect the quality of the work, and if no, then I would not worry too much about the amount (which will be distributed amongst all the condo owners). -
Blocked From Enter Thailand
CanadaSam replied to glegolo18's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Well, IMO there would have to be an exit stamp! That might have some reference to a ban written on it. -
I have two words for you. Father Ray. Does great work looking after kids, and will surely appreciate your stuff.

Will we ever rid ourselves of The Big C., Cancer?
CanadaSam replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
SURE we will. It just takes AI to come up with a bunch of nanobots that target cancer cells. Not at all difficult to do, it's just gonna take 10-20 years. -
As usual, complete idiots. There was absolutely NO problem with beach road being two way, yes, traffic was slow because people were admiring the sights, but you had the option of simply going one street over to the second road (or Theppraya road, dunno what they call it) if you wanted to get wherever you're going faster!

Thai taxi driver slams cops for toll indulgence
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Your "opinion" is more than likely wrong, because many taxi's have the MFlow app which automatically deducts toll funds from their account -
