i think humain nature being maybe a bit masochistic, closes an eye on such facts that are pertinent and relevant. In fact most of us ranting here, neverthelss regularly go back to Thailand or are staying on due to other obligations.

I would think twice before putting my marbles in any US venture, after all the financial downfalls, scandals of the past and future. The Wall Street and Senate goons will just never learn. Far safer for Thailand to initiate partership with closer superpowers like India, China and Japan or even Russia why not.

As foreigners in Thailand, all we could care is anybody in charge who makes visa issues more simple, respectful, human and bans some absurd document requirements like the TM's etc.

The quality and cuts on upper scale retail garment brands all over Bangkok malls, have highly improved. At highly competitive prices. Far better value for money now in the Bangkok malls with the top garment brands. I'm definately not going back to any tailor chop shop on Sukhumvit, considering their current inflated price tags.

In général i do not see a problem to purchase mail order from any major retailer for cheap stuff. But for more costly items,. I would definately feel unconfortable with the delivery courrier efficency. Depending on the area, I would not blindly trust the honesty or efficency. COD could be an alternative and if possible to have it delivered at a pick-up point. Not to mention that in case of warranty issues, it can be a nightmare to get a refund or replacement, despite many who may argue the opposite. Thus to keep it safe, I'll may suggest to do it old school. Go to the shop, annoy the salesgirl or guy with my stupid questions for an hour and get your money's worth for the service????.

Nothing to do with being a Thai, a tax driver i, a hi-so or anything else. It's plainly the madness related to drug consumption. Climate change may not destroy the world as fast as drug use, drug abuse and all the madness it creates. No offence please and if this upsets you, I appologize. But the reality I'm afraid is a bit different. If we were solely to abide by facts and figures, the iphone would never have existed !!!! Policy makers all r in governance, business... are surrounded by technocrats with facts and figures that can make sense, But one needs to think beyond the box if you wish to acheive innovation and progress. A bit beyond CNN or Fox maybe !!! But I fully understand for a Carthesian mind, creativity, innovation or common sense can have little meaning and thus the sole arguments stongly remain by the box or the book.
