  1. Well then, they (the wreckless drivers) deserve all they get.

Whenever we (my Thai wife & I) we hear a skid and honking of horns, we hope for a crashing sound and blood and guts spread everywhere.

Sorry, but Thailand has hardened us. Even she (being a Thai) said that she wouldn't help or phone an ambulance for w*nkers in such conditions.

Som nam naa is her buzzword.

OK. Let the comments about us being heartless basta*ds roll from all you compassionate folks!!

  2. HI Rachel

Yes, Thailand is a pretty safe place if you keep your wits about you. If something sounds too good to be true, IT IS.

Be aware that the locals aren't the only ones determined to part you from your cash. Hard up foreigners have been known to scam their fellow countrymen to get a few bob.

Never accept free drinks or snacks from anyone.

    You'll be fine.

    Happy holiday!!

  3. Treat her nicely and well. Offer to help her stay in UK. Sweet talk her and tell her you want to try again at the marriage. You love her, and let bygones be bygones. Don't arouse her suspicions.

Meanwhile, see the Home Office, and a solicitor. When she hasn't a leg to stand on (ie no domestic violence lawsuits etc), move in for the kill and dump the b1tch.

PS She's starting to drink at lunchtime? You can tell she's no good (far too late to start boozing!!!)

  4. Don't really like to use ATM cards in foreign countries. Thailand is bad enough with scanning/copying cards when in use!!

Is there anywhere in BKK I can get, say B3,000 - B5,000 worth of Rupiah and then go to the banks in Bali if/when needed?

  5. Hi all

We are preparing to holiday in Indonesia (Bali) in a few weeks. My wife has had no success in obtaining Indonesian Rupiahs from major banks in Bangkok.

However, one bank informed her that we must first exchange Baht to US$, and on arriving in Indonesia change the US$ in to Rupiah. I have never heard of this before.

Has anyone been to Indonesia/Bali recently, and if so, could you please tell me the regulations about currency exchange. Or is it straight forward and change Baht into Rupiah at Suwannabhumi exchange booths.

Also, can the visa on arrival be paid in Rupiah, or is it US$ only?

    Thanx for any replies.
