  1. Doesn't look like Prayut or his cronies did anything wrong under the constitution. That's the crux of it. Only MF is being investigated. If MF is not dissolved but they hold the election again, MF will win by a bigger majority. Hope they have 3 prime ministerial candidates next time. If the party is dissolved and they aren't allowed to form a new one in time then PT will win a landslide with a lower turnout.
  2. I guess Thai men know that love costs money.
  3. Difficult to arrest the lower ranks as they know the one ordering the transfers is perhaps not that white. Transfers mean they can continue to earn for the next boss.
  4. Wardens maintain jails . Courts pronounce the punishment.
  5. Er, you do understand that i am against revolution and stated there is not going to be one because the military will win?
  6. Yes, kick 'em while they're down. Great post.
  7. Is this the way diplomats change flavor of the month? They loved Prayut then they court Pita. Pita may understand what the Americans want but that doesn't mean they have to give up their virginity.
  8. Queue perplexed about where they can go to get a cheap room at that time of night? At 02:00 AM i think they felt no one would be there, let alone peering hard into the dark shadows. Should let them have a dark section of the beach to have at it and put up signs that say Peeping Toms not allowed after midnight.
  9. Doubtful PT wants the election scrapped as MF will gain even more votes. A revolution will be bad in the sense that there will be massacres of civilians. Students up against tanks and machine guns? Really? Best defence, quietly negotiate. I am sure the EC realize they are out of a job if they pursue the iTV case.
  10. It's nice to see the courts on the side of the people for a change.
  11. Frankly it is immature to threaten someone from the military before you are running the country. Expect another coup.
  12. The usual story. No, no I'm retiring! Oh, so many people want me to stay! I cannot deny the people's wish!
  13. Well, Rama 9 started the push to save mangroves in 1991. I guess these guys are continuing the idea
  14. I believe this happens every time a government wants to raise wages. However, one can foresee prices rising as a result.
  15. Better be careful if you see knives being sharpened.
  16. I thought the EC is responsible for elections? If they have been told to "find votes" lets see if some areas switch to 99% for Prayut parties. Cut the number of generals. Move tanks and troops to border areas. Don't leave the door open.
  17. Really? I sometimes feel there are people who view liberalism as communistic. Communism would imply the means of production are owned communally and private property is nonexistent or severely curtailed. Communism per se is a political and economic ideology that opposes liberal democracy and capitalism I haven't seen sign of that yet but feel free to enlighten everyone.
  18. Did they sing "10 green bottles" while enjoying their monastic life?
  19. So he likes to take a break at weekends (unless it is an emergency, I am sure). Everyone has weekend breaks and has for many years. The issue is, does his age prevent him from attending meetings that are in his calendar? Did it stop him from achieving much more than previous incumbents? George W. Bush spent more than a year of his presidency at Camp David -- 387 days, either entirely or partially. It looks suspiciously like other politicians are creating the gossip. https://prologue.blogs.archives.gov/2015/08/11/take-a-break-with-presidential-vacations/
  20. Everything depends on self-discipline, ....and police waiting outside the bar when you get into the car or on the bike
  21. A bit unnerving to read so many thinking that people taking to the streets will lock the military out. Every military coup has not been stopped by civilians protesting simply because fists and sticks don't work against tanks and armored carriers.
  22. Perhaps house arrest is an alternative. An ankle bracelet to ensure he stays put, seems doable
  23. If anyone has visited a Thai prison, you would know that being found guilty in Norway is a much better choice than Thailand. Try to see Michael Moore's 2015 film Where to Invade Next for a look at the Norway system. Bullman would do well to plead guilty there.
  24. Looks like rice farming is a waste of time unless you have a rice mill. That's where the money is. I visited several royally-initiated projects and the officers there did explain that rice is the lowest price crop so they teach people to plant other things. Some farmers (and schools!) have a decent vegetable garden, chickens, maybe some pigs. Their idea is to be self sufficient and not rely on rice for all their income.
  25. I also find it hard to accept we need to spend billions on such a waste of time. I understand this might be preparation for further voyages to earth like planets but really, they could use that money to solve problems here.
