  1. As for Pattaya-based members, 95%, at least, seem to favour s/t.
  2. Maybe it's due to the Russian 'tourist' invasion...
  3. Don't they have their own credit card system now? (Read that somewhere.) Also, there's UnionPay...
  4. Last time, my landlady reduced the 'electricity rate' when the price was lowered, but raised the 'service fee for electricity use', meaning I still had to pay the same...
  5. Great! Will make it harder for the guy to find me...
  6. Is that the one waiting at the bus station, then going along Beach Road and on to Jomtien?
  7. How much should I figure for a motorbike taxi from the Northern Pattaya Bus Terminal to S. LK Metro?
  8. Returning to Thailand, I noticed a good number of shops selling cannabis here in Bangkok. If there are as many in Pattaya, perhaps he went cannabis-shop hopping...
  9. What do I care? Can I vote? - No. Will there be policies in favour of expats? - Your guess. But if Toxin returns, count me out of the tourist numbers...
  10. 36,000 odd baht spending per tourist. No wonder, water is sometimes sold out at 7-Eleven...
  11. Successvisa in Pattaya, legit business? Anyone who used them?
  12. Who in their right mind would do bungee-jumping in Thailand?
  13. If you're disabled in Thailand, using walkways, then traffic barriers that can be unlocked and opened, are probably the least of your problems...
  14. Fair enough. Haven't had the time recently to follow all the latest news about the conflict.
  15. So, Poland's basis of civilisation and culture is Ukranian? Interesting.
  16. I'm surpr I can remember, years ago, that they offered statistics and graphs of monthly arrivals on their website. Then numbers fell, and such information was gone, just replaced by weekly headlines about numbers they 'were expecting'...
  17. I just downloaded my provider's app, then paid the bill every month. But yes, OTPs are a problem.
  18. If the Australia, or New Zealand embassies held such an event, I'm sure they would attract at least 60,000 visitors. Then again, many Chinese are already here. Saw more than a hundred of them yesterday at Big C Pratunam, buying lots of instant noodles, snacks, etc.
  19. 6,000 people in two days in Beijing? Doesn't sound like a success.
  20. Partly it seems due to the fact that they want to know the tourists' whereabouts. Also, recently entering, the IO took a long time to verify the hotel name and location I had written on the form. It took him a while to find it on the computer, but he really made sure it existed.
  21. ???????? Reminds me of the story of the handicapped Hong Kong boy, who, years ago, had somehow made it without a passport to mainland China, and after sending him back and forth, Hong Kong Immigration finally sent him "back" to mainland China, cause his clothes were made in China, and he couldn't name popular Hong Kong pop stars. He was never seen or heard of again...
  22. Personally, I cannot complain about JetStar. It was the only airline (out of 3) that quickly reimbursed me for a cancelled flight during Covid. The other two didn't. - One went out of business, but I managed, two-and-a-half years later, to use a 'credit' with the parent-airline. The money I spent for flights with a budget-airline based in Malaysia, I will probably never see again...
  23. 12. Awesome nature. 13. The zillion activities one can do.
  24. I'm currently in Malaysia. Even KL is cheaper than Thailand. Hotels and restaurants are reasonably priced, and public transportation costs less than half what it does in Thailand.
  25. That's exactly why I left Thailand for six months, to be able to escape the Bangkok smog for a while. Also, in a few years I'm planning to pull out permanently (except for shorter holidays), so that I can use my country's healthcare if needed.
