  1. Maybe they asked him to add ice to his beverage, but he disagreed. ????
  2. Yes, true, but not 10x or more like in Thailand. No foreign tourist would complain if the price was 2x the locals' price.
  3. Just a normal day in Pattaya then...
  4. Phew, I'm relieved! Now I can travel to Pattaya, and enjoy a peaceful tour of the temples...
  5. You may be right, LOL. Perhaps franchise outlets have different rules. That would explain the popularity of 7-Eleven in Thailand.
  6. That's exactly what the Chinese tour groups used to do, walking up and down Walking Street in the early evening, following the guy with the flag (in order not to, accidentally, stumble into a bar?)... As they probably didn't even buy a bottle of water from the convenience stores, there was no need for any place else to open. As for the OP, 9 p.m. these days is quite early to expect a busy bar, which is, IMHO, surprising, considering the early closing hours now.
  7. The ones who didn't won't use the meter.
  8. Why didn't they just ask some of the politicians there to stand in?
  9. Will I be able to pay my 300-baht fee to enter Thailand with virtual money from such a virtual bank?
  10. Thais attacking foreigners?? No, Thais only smile and bow (says the TAT)...
  11. Same here. Eight doses since July 2021. Mix of Pfizer and Moderna. Also slight, brief headache after the first dose.
  12. Yes, that's why they have so many 'No spitting' signs in Hong Kong, cause most visitors there from mainland China are poor factory workers. I remember living in China years ago, and walking for 10 minutes, I usually encountered 3 or 4 spitters, both men and women, usually middle-aged...
  13. They go to 'the island' and buy cheap plates with their pic on...
  14. Hmm, I can't imagine who could have arranged that If there had been CCTV, it probably wouldn't have worked at the time...
  15. Tomorrow: "There has been a mistake, a 'zero' was missing. The ministry is actually expecting 800 million visitors..."
  16. Exactly. Someone mentioned only 50 baht of it being used (if at all) for 'accident insurance'. Probably soon we'll read news that 'it is not enough', and 'the fee needs to be raised', or other fees charged...
  17. Wasn't that the Don Muang airport tax before it was added to the ticket? - I remember spending my last baht on my first visit to Thailand, unaware of it, then having to buy baht at airport rates just for that purpose.
  18. On the 'professions reserved for Thai nationals list' they should add 'criminals'...
  19. You pay. (Some) Thai people spend it.
  20. I heard from Chinese in the south of China, near the border to Hong Kong, that they travel all the way to the beaches in HK, cause theirs are so filthy.
  21. Markets and market predictions always puzzle me. - If this was likely, why don't (professional) investors sell now (i.e. early)?
  22. Why? If I got a Thailand visa in Malaysia, would I be exempted of the 3-day "rule"? (But, yes, I'd probably need 3 days to get it.)
