  1. Yes, but nothing found. I uninstalled AnyDesk, however, and deleted as well as I could some Windows files and programs that uploaded automatically yesterday on my laptop. The strange 'delete and transfer' function still there as soon as I click on anything, but it's more manageable now.
  2. Hello, for some reason, I cannot post in the 'Internet&Computer' forum... My laptop just got hacked today via AnyDesk, with many of my Yahoo emails being deleted online, and a number of shortcuts on my desktop deleted. I managed to stop some 'transfers' and permanent deletions. Windows popped up on my laptop asking me for 'authorization' of desktop access... Anyhow, I took a picture of the remote ID in these windows, and was wondering, whether there is a way to find the culprit with the number ID accessing my laptop. Also, deletions still going on, even though I uninstalled AnyDesk. What to do?
  3. Anyone has a clue up to how many days/weeks/months a "border run" is, i.e. IOs not considering one to overstaying their welcome when returning? Say, if I stayed in Thailand for 8 months, then left for 2, would they roll out the red carpet again?
  4. What the heck did they plan to do with these docs? Give them to Winnie the Pooh? ☺️
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if they had the paper forms ready as a backup. πŸ˜†
  6. Confusing as always... Fill out arrival card, then download. And then what?? Will they have all those data in their Immigration computers?
  7. Tofu-dreg now also in Thailand? πŸ˜† Anyhow, strongest earthquake, I ever experienced. Strangely, the two earthquakes in my life I felt, both happened in SE Asia. (Even though, I've been to NZ and Japan...)
  8. According to international IQ rankings, Thai college students were rated in the 80s-range years ago. Mind you, that people with an IQ of 75 and below are considered to be 'retarded'... (Hope, that those extra 10 points, or so for educated Thais make all the difference.) πŸ˜†
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if they developed their own "Global" Education Ranking, Thai-style, with Thailand ranking at the top, similar to their Thai-style "international" IQ ranking they came up with years ago.
  10. K-Bank sent me forms last year re. tax status. Arriving in Thailand again this year, I was wondering, whether I should fill them out at the branch. Not living in Thailand anymore, but spending less than 180 days a year in the country now, I was wondering, what the chances are that the bank will close my account, if I tell them that when filling out the forms.
  11. Spot on. How can one plan a (longer) holiday with such flip-flops in tourism policy? Starts already with a flight out of the country. When to book it; after 30, 60, or 90 days? (And will I later, at the check-in counter on the way to Thailand, get into trouble with such return-ticket?)
  12. I was wondering; the Canadian shops taking U.S. booze from the shelves right after Trump announced tariffs... Whatever happened to those goods?
  13. Good for Thailand, finally catching up with Prohibition a hundred years after the U.S. introduced it... πŸ˜†
  14. No model citizens, for sure... 🀨
  15. In 28 years, I have travelled only once for 'less than 21 days' to Thailand, and that was when flights were much more affordable... Holidaying closer to home is looking more and more like a better option, without the long flight and sour faces at Arrival in Bangkok...
  16. The day will come when they are drunk and bold enough to actually come up with a 'tourism' campaign like that, I'm sure... πŸ˜†
  17. I bet, a large number of the 'bad apples' are Chinese... But no, can't just cut visas for them, because big CCP brother will be p**sed. Maybe it really is, like the Chinese tour guides in Pattaya said years ago, Thailand IS (practically) "a colony of China"...
  18. And what does that have to do with an extended duration of VFEs?? πŸ€”
  19. Thank god, I haven't booked my Thailand holiday yet! Is Vietnam still offering 45 days? May give the IO a big grin if they ask me 'how long you stay'... 30 days, then off to other destinations. 😝
  20. Fair enough. But did they also tell you how the bank will distinguish between 'retirement pensions' and other transfers, before withholding tax?
  21. Thailand's Finest involved in extortion rackets... What is the world coming to? πŸ™„
  22. Good to know; three months holiday in Thailand, flying with Thai Air; 2 T-shirts, 2 shorts, 2 underpants... Voila, already 23kg! πŸ˜†
  23. I heard, Japan doesn't worry about low numbers of Chinese arrivals, on the contrary... πŸ˜† (I will never understand Thailand's obsession with tourists from just one country.)
  24. "Grim Employment Prospects Loom Over Thailand" So, will the (official) unemployment rate climb above 2 percent? 😜
  25. It has been my opinion from the beginning that it will work out like this... - Sorry, Thailand, under these circumstances, no transfers, and no retirement in Thailand by yours truly. Also, using international credit cards only when absolutely necessary. The Thai taxman's gains will be wayyy lower than the financial loss for the Thai economy. πŸ˜‰
