  1. What are 5,000 Thais in Gaza, and 1,099 in Israel doing there anyway? Thailand needs them! Reportedly, the unemployment rate in Thailand is only about 1 percent. Who will construct all the condos for the Chinese?
  2. Thai Airways has made things difficult, despite VFE availability for at least the past seven years.
  3. As if they had ever cared about the Burmese. That is unless Ayutthaya was sacked...
  4. Yes. On the other hand, some franchises of international outlets (Boots, Watsons) have closed (e.g. in Royal Garden Plaza), or moved to other locations. Personally, I prefer to buy at these outlets, not the small ones.
  5. Argumenting like this, Poland had it coming in 1939, as did Ukraine in 2022, just to name two examples?
  6. Sorry about that.
  7. thaibeachlovers wrote: "No it's not complicated at all. If I was living under occupation and collective punishment in my own country I'd want to strike back at the oppressors." Gaza is not under occupation by Israel, and, clearly, Hamas and Iran have a different agenda. They like to tell everyone who wants to know that they want to eradicate the state of Israel and establish a fundamentalist Islamic regime there. Ironically, neither Muslim Israelis, nor Palestinians want that, otherwise the latter would have elected Hamas extremists like in Gaza... Someone mentioned that you're from NZ. On my recent trip there, esp. on the South Island, I saw Ukrainian flags raised in support of that country. How about supporting the state of Israel this time too, and flying the Israeli flag?
  8. Crazy ideologies, fanatics, dictators, as well as genetically engineered viruses and diseases (Covid-19 most probably not being the last one). - There is also destruction of our natural environment (oceans, rain forests) and global warming, but I think it won't matter for the survival of humankind, as the dictators and fanatics will take care of us well before the latter become a threat...
  9. Yes, my experience too. Difference: prostitutes took better care of me, while my 'good girl' gf just lied and frequently disappeared.
  10. How to become a millionaire (as a billionaire) in Thailand... Classic!
  11. 4x 800 baht = 3,200 baht (not incl. transportation, and not to mention the time spent). Better to wait till the next visa extension and pay 2,000 baht?
  12. They do. But if you don't do it the same day you move in, they'll fine you. Also, how do I know every time that I stay at a hotel that they actually file a TM.30?
  13. And do what if he doesn't? Moving out, forfeiting my safety deposit? - I already told Immigration about the landlord's failure to file a TM.30. They didn't care but instead fined me!
  14. I actually registered there myself. Then, at Chaengwattana, it was thrown out, however, and I was told that I cannot register there as a tenant. Strangely enough, I was asked to register on a paper form as the 'house owner'! That's why I wondered whether this is some kind of 'scam' to rip off tenants and tourists whose landlord or hotel didn't do the TM.30...
  15. The vaccine is based on last year's flu (or earlier). A bit like getting one of the earliest produced Covid vaccines now in 2023...
  16. If it is, then many people in my neighbourhood and the surrounding area have Covid too...
  17. The only reason I suffer from stress at this point in my life is people. Unfortunately, not something I can 'fix', except growing a thicker skin...
  18. A lot of predictions with 'potential' tourists...
  19. So, if such numbers were accurate, shouldn't they worry about deflation?
  20. Might even backfire. People getting used to spending more money than they usually have... Next thing you know, they borrow more money from money lenders after, leading to even higher indebtedness. (Not saying all, but some might.)
