Update to my Rant earlier today
DrJack54 replied to orchidfan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Was just chatting with dude called Mr Google.....he stated... "Consular officials can witness Australian statutory declarations overseas. We deliver this service through our embassies and consulates overseas. Note that Australian statutory declarations are for use only in Australia." -
Sounds good. You will also be doing the 12 month extension at Ratchaburi since you are obtaining the Non O there.

TM 30, or not TM 30, that is the question.
DrJack54 replied to indieke's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Was not previously required since June 2020. Now since trying to marry online reporting with TM30 things have changed. You have good summary above of the current situation. Personally I don't bother with it. I travel fair bit so actually don't need to TM47 often and when I do I use mail option. Recently did a 90 report in person (Nov 5) since I was at CW for annual extension. I didn't give the io a TM30 for the 90 report. Nor a previous TM47 receipt for most recent report. OP, perhaps Jomitien is convenient for you. I would never make trip to CW just to do a 90 report. -
Congrats on the successful bounce. Did you use agent minivan. Cost ? Which border The extensions are done at immigration office where you have your address (TM30) Keep in mind you at some point need to obtain a Non O marriage. Also be aware that the office where you obtain the non O is same office that you obtain the 12 month extension. If you plan to obtain 30 day extension to the 60 day stamp you just obtained in ADDITION to the 60 day extension "to visit wife" you do the 30 extension first. Also run your plan past immigration office to obtain that office attitude to that. To obtain the non O in addition to the required docs you will use a TM87 form. The non O is 2000b and 12 month extension is 1900b For ongoing extensions you are not required to obtain another Non O This thread explains the process https://aseannow.com/topic/1325266-change-from-visa-exempt-to-non-o/

I don't see it that way. There has always been an issue with back to back visa exempt entries via air with extensive history. Until recently there was limit of 2 entries via land per calendar year. That was changed and that 2 per year removed. Personally think the term "Unlimited Entries" via land borders was misleading. The eVisa to commence in 2025 in the countries mentioned in the OP is in the main is for expats looking for ongoing living in Thailand on extensions from a non O retirement or marriage. If multi entry non O marriage is taken off the menu then those looking for that visa would just obtain the non O in Thailand. For those prepared to just do ongoing border bounce for visa exempt entry that may work. Just don't even consider taking a weekend away from Thailand via air..

So how much did agent charge?5k. Assume Bangkok Bank. Most of cost goes to insurance policy. -

The OP should be aware that if both license renewal required that photocopy of certificate of residence will suffice. -
Motorcycle Thai driver’s license renewal question

I don't have have personal experience re Phuket ... However when I did the same from 2 to 5 year license I was told not required. That was Bangkok. -
Even if the "payment in person" had an alternative the processing time for the eVisa would make it impractical if the application had to be made while in eg Laos. I can recall obtaining my first Non O retirement at Vientiane It was an overnight gig. Now it's an appointment and process time of what 3 days? What will it be when eVisa starts 2025 The folk requiring a Non O will simply obtain the visa from the local immigration office from visa exempt entry. There is no one requiring a tourist visa since exempt went to 60 days.

Most offices for the extension you are doing using money in bank method require 1. 3 month bank statement showing balance of 400k (minimum) seasoned for 2 months prior to date of application. 2. "Bank Letter" showing you as the owner of the account and balance on day of issue. 3. Bank Book and photocopies of previous 2 months. Note regards 1and 3 immigration may just accept the bank book and photocopies. 4. Update of bank book on day of application. I prefer to make a deposit to show activity. This also updates the account. No idea what that means.

If you do border bounce you will obtain 60 day stamp. That can be extended by 30 days. You can obtain a further 60 day extension to visit wife. With 15 days + remaining on permission of stay you can apply for non O based on marriage with 400k in bank on day of application. That will give a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days with the 400k having been in bank for 2 months you can obtain 12 month extension. Wife needs to attend for 60 day extension and application for non O and for 12 months extension and be available for home visit if required. Note: in person application for non O Savannakhet not available. As from start of 2025 they change to eVisa and appears not convenient. I have typed this information a few times now.

That's incorrect. Which immigration office That's not correct. Immigration office is playing games. Are you using income method or funds in the bank Immigration will accept bank statement up to 7 days old. Seems you use Bangkok Bank. Other banks can issue 12 month bank statement on the spot. 12 month bank statement not required for money in bank method (marriage) For you FIRST 12 month extension bank statement for both marriage and retirement is not required. Just bank book or 3 month bank statement to show requirements have been met.
-
If you had just obtained a non O that would give you 90 day stamp. For the FIRST 12 month extension the the funds need to be seasoned for 2 months. Just bank book and photocopies would be sufficient. For the next extension you would provide 12 month bank statement. Note: some offices will accept bank book showing balances for one year.

Timeline for LTR application in Thailand
DrJack54 replied to Desmond77's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Same question asked in current LTR thread. Folk can reply there.Thread closed -
You can exit Thailand with both passports. You have run out of time as permission of stay end tomorrow. There are flights tomorrow to Vientiane. You could fly there and return via land border friendship bridge. Vans run from Nong Khai to Udon Thani Central Plaza or airport. Thread started last Wednesday and your still here
