  1. Think you are asking where/how can you obtain a non O based on retirement. That can be obtained at Thai consulate/embassy or from visa exempt or tourist visa entry at your local Thai immigration office
  2. Repeating it was triggered by your comment that... TGF can "handle it" which I found sorta silly. In face immigration will notice that you have previously had 12 month extensions based on retirement. When living in Thailand ongoing some immigration officers don't like ongoing back to back entries. Depends a lot on time spent out of Thailand. Even roster workers month on/off can be hassled.
  3. You stated in one part of the OP... "wondering if I can expect any problems down the track if I ditch doing the yearly retirement extensions" Sounds like a plan to me .."IF I ditch," My advice was bad move. And you will eventually end up with problems.
  4. I answered this in other thread you asked. This attached thread seems to indicate almost extinct species. Haven't even seen recent reports of them even from Savannakhet. Places like London eVisa removed them from menu. https://aseannow.com/topic/1313316-multi-entry-non-o-retirement-visa/
  5. Multi entry non O retirement (one year visa) is available in very few places now. Where would you be hoping to apply? For a single entry non O you can obtain that in a Thai consulate/embassy (good option) or in Thailand from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry. In the last 30 days of that 90 day stamp you can apply for 12 months extension however has financial requirements.
  6. Amazing statement. Your plan of moving to visa exempt entries as a means to live in Thailand ongoing is misguided imo.
  7. 12+ Minor amount of money gained by maxing out validity of a pp. Think most pp are now valid for 10 years. Renew to obtain full 12 month extension.
  8. This thread has some reports and links. https://aseannow.com/topic/1316179-american-passport-renewal-process/
  9. OP, this is a good suggestion. If say 6 months is required then you could enter Thailand visa exempt and then obtain the non O at immigration followed by the 60 day extension. Assume you have a Thai bank account in your name only
  10. Yes he is correct. You can obtain a 12 month extension of permission of stay. If you are living ongoing in Thailand skip Savannakhet and do annual extensions of your permission of stay.
  11. You should not have been threatened with fine. Jomitien. No surprises there. Thread closed
  12. Good result. Do you want thread closed.
  13. Yes they are. In any event seems that you have paid the fine. Next report consider mail option. Which immigration office do you deal with.
  14. Think it's best idea. Pick a time when you are pretty sure that you won't need to exit Thailand for travel.. Earlier post has thread that outlines process for pp renewal.
  15. Why so needing to squeeze as much as possible out of a pp. Guessing USA pp valid for 10 years. Obtain a new one well before expiry. Yes if not your next extension will have expiry date same as expiry of current pp. https://aseannow.com/topic/1316179-american-passport-renewal-process/
  16. Online up to due date. Changed some time ago.
  17. It should be. You were hard done by it would seem. This link outlines the rules for TM47. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/90days-report/
  18. The thing is many offices want a TM47 receipt. Esp at eg CW where they have a doc check girl. In my example my last report was 10 months ago. I will show that receipt and my pp can show due to travel no reporting was due in last 10 months. Never continuously in country 90+ days
  19. Agree totally. I like bullet proof options if available. Especially if entering via air. Apart from onward ticket required by airline immigration would/could be an issue.
  20. Yep especially if it's fact that 400k for 2 months is required. Same requirement for 12 month extension. Buy a multi reentry permit and travel when it suits you. Also keep in mind that ME Non is valid for one year. You can get about 15+ months out of one but then another visit to Savannakhet. No thanks This thread discuss some aspects. https://aseannow.com/topic/1329397-non-imm-o-1-yr-me-visa-from-laos/
  21. They are good to go also you as hosts. The guests would only bother with TM30 if they needed dealing with immigration eg for extension. Visa exempt is currently 60 days
  22. It's referring to if you are arrested for something eg bar fight and subsequently seen to have not made a TM47 when required.
