Digital nomads in Thailand
DrJack54 replied to LS24's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No problem. Don't big noise it. -
Like your post. LTR perhaps suits some folk however similar to yourself I have just placed the 800k in Thai bank and leave it there. Don't give it a second thought. Annual extensions are simple and use appointment option. In future when mobility becomes an issue, I will switch to agent. Everyone has options that suit their situation. Credit to Thailand for providing those options. I'm sure some folk will continue to view PE visa as a good option especially for those some years under 50. Basically a flop out the cash ...deal done.

They wouldn't need it. The passport would show entry date into Thailand using visa exempt. Also exit date from Thailand at land border. Then what...turn around (border bounce) and reenter with the eVisa. That printed eVisa would have an issue date. Personally think the eVisa has not be thought through.

Retirement visa without the 800,000 baht

No. You need to be 50+. The rest of your post is correct. Many folk with non O retirement extensions have income from abroad. Or are digital nomads etc -
Retirement visa without the 800,000 baht

OP, .... Name of agent and which province do you live? Do you have an existing Thai bank account in your name only -
Denied entry. The conclusion with a twist.

Have you read OP previous thread from the OP. He would have only protested AFTER sent to "time out room" He had a tourist visa and yes I also would have protested the "refused entry" Horrible experience for the OP given that he did not try to enter visa exempt via air. -

Good. Now spend time providing current information. That would be helpful. -

Good advice. Here is thread for anyone interested in Malaysia to Thailand via land border. One of the most comprehensive posts by the OP. Excellent report -
Some information please

OP, is your extension based on marriage? If yes then you could apply for 60 day extension to visit wife assuming you have not obtained one previously. -

@paulikens so what's the plan now? You still have a tourist visa. What's the "enter before date" on the visa. Do you plan to try again via land border? (just nosey curiosity) BTW: What did they sting you for flight back to Penang. -
Hopefully Thai immigration is up to speed on this. AU, USA, UK have stopped providing letter to request transfer of stamps. Perhaps there are others. Think USA is supplying a statement that they do not provide any. In any event should not be an issue. There is a form available. If you paste this into Google it will provide form. 1486548719379.doc Request to transfer the stamp to a new passport https://aseannow.com/topic/1247977-transfer-visa-stamps-from-old-passport-to-new-passport-process/

This is excellent advice. When I last renewed my pp (Oz) I had my photos done professionally according to the embassy guidelines. When presenting in person was told "photo no good" and given map to Photoshop. Only short walk so not huge problem. No surprise that the photos from the shop were same as ones I already had..

The visa is not transfered. Information relating to the visa is entered into first page of new pp. No need to transfer any stamps in certain time frame. Best option is to do your next 90 day report in person and have transfer of information and any necessary stamps to new pp at the same time. Alternatively you could skip the 90 day report and have transfer and next extension (Nov-Dec) done same time. Meaning one trip and a fine for doing 90 report late.

I feel your pain. Ignore many rubbish posts in your thread. The problem is Thai consulates have nothing to do with Thai immigration at airports and land border entries. Your case is rare as you actually have a visa. Thinking your visa is still valid so you can still enter with that at another entry point. Suggest a land entry point would be best option. Your current tourist visa will have a "enter by date" Some time spent out of Thailand would be a bonus.
