  1. OP, if you can afford it wack 800k+ in a dedicated account and that avoids and slip ups best option. The above info from Pib outlines the rules .
  2. Exactly. Best option is to have a separate bank account for extension purposes. Lock up 800k in a dedicated bank account. FD account if you choose. No ATM card (not necessary) Bullet proof. Don't know why you got 2 stupid emoji.
  3. OP, take notice of posts from ubonjoe in this thread. Does not refer to age limit. https://aseannow.com/topic/850608-dependant-extension-to-retirement/
  4. The fact that this happened to you personally does not change the fact that you are wrong. Insurance is not a requirement to opened a bank account.
  5. OP, which immigration office. Some allow you apply for extension 45 days prior to expiry. If you prefer to do the extension after return (safest idea) you buy a reentry permit. Can be obtained at immigration office or airport at departure.
  6. https://aseannow.com/topic/1296821-some-imm-offices-refusing-to-do-the-change-of-visa-process-applying-for-90-day-non-imm-o-visa-from-a-visaexempt-entry/
  7. https://aseannow.com/topic/1297092-non-o-visa-retirement-purpose/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1285917-exempt-visa-entry-to-non-o-retirement-1-extension/
  8. Ridiculous post. If you have "limited funds" you do not move to a foreign country. Then have an illness or accident and start a GoFundMe. Too many pauper farang in Thailand.
  9. If that's the case then they should not be in Thailand in the first place. Needs to run back to passport mummy land.
  10. Indeed. Another option for OP is to exit Thailand without a reentry permit. OP you won't be fined overstay at departure. The io at departure may point out that you do not have a reentry permit. Just answer that you are aware of that. Return visa exempt and start over with a conversion to new non O retirement or marriage. Messy but an option
  11. 1. Apply for a 60 day extension to visit wife. 2. Deposit 400k into your bank account. 3. Organize the docs required for proof of marriage etc. 4. Obtain the extension based on marriage. You can use the funds once the extension is approved.
  12. Both rogue offices. Your two examples are irrelevant. Immigration offices sometimes do rubbish As they did in your examples. There are approx 75 immigration offices in Thailand. Show me this behavior in more than 2
  13. Your post is weird from start to finish. Once application for a non O from visa exempt entry is made then under consideration period kicks in. The current permission of stay becomes irrelevant. You also state immigration kept your passport. Please show me ONE post of immigration taking someone's passport and holding for 2 weeks. Did you use an agent
  14. Piggyback on your extensions based on retirement as your dependant is certainly and option. Just one person's option but I suggest given father's situation the use agent would be good option. Even moreso given that he previously used Key Visa. There are other good agents in Pattaya. Check out Maneerat at Soi post office. Approx 13k for extension. No funds required. Bank account is required
  15. Your plan works fine. First they will do the stamp and info transfer and then process your extension
  16. Very few (if any) reports of refused entry. However it's a matter of time. In 2019 (pre covid) there were several reports of refused entry via air visa exempt esp at Bangkok airports. Refused entry is significant. In almost all cases you are either flown back to airport of departure or to your pp country. Even this is not simple. For example if I flew from Saigon and was refused entry eg DMK it's not simple to be flown back to Vietnam. Being Oz I require a visa to enter Vietnam and currently they are only issuing e-Visa. World of pain. There are threads similar to yours every other day. This one stands out as you have spent basically zero time out of Thailand. You are playing Russian roulette. If you are determined to stay longer most likely a tourist visa from Vientiane would be best option. Appointment required. Stating this for others. For long stays such as your it's best to keep one land border visa exempt entry up your sleeve. In your case your most recent entry should have been with a SETV
  17. You won't be doing a visa exempt entry via land as you have used your 2 per calendar year. You should obtain a tourist visa. Vientiane and HCMC would be couple of options. Both consulates require an appointment. You did not indicate how much time you have spent OUTSIDE of Thailand since Dec last year.
  18. The OP posted ongoing ridiculous information from the start and his subsequent posts. Surprised this thread got any traction.
  19. Many poor irrelevant replies in this thread. Immigration can check to verify address at their discretion. Obviously this occurs in many offices for extensions based on marriage. Also for "conversion" to non O based on retirement from tourist visa or visa exempt stamp. Vaguely recall of Hua Hin immigration checking on (in particular) USA nationals several years ago Nothing significant about this thread.
  20. I seriously cannot understand your thread. Of course everyone gets friend request on Facebook. Generally from young Thai ladies. And you are surprised and post a "warning" Ridiculous.
  21. I also use a FD. The minimum deposit for my bank Kasikorn it 1000b. I make deposit on day on my extension at CW. Note: there have been many posts that this is not required for FD account for extension at CW.
  22. You have few options. Without outlining all... I think given your father's situation the use of an agent ongoing would be one consideration. He would no longer require funds in Thai bank. If much younger some would suggest that he can piggyback on your non O retirement. That's possible. Off topic: hats off to you taking good care.
