  1. Since you are talking about spending a week (mini holiday) it's a no brainer. Saigon.. Very easy airport to district 1 and consulate easy access. Be aware that it requires an appointment so forward planning required. Return air from Bangkok approx 3500baht. Vientiane in Laos also requires an appointment. Flights to Udon Thani means relatively short trip to Nong Khai.
  2. No... His non O-A has expired. He applied for a 12 month extension from his original non O-A. Hence all the financial requirements he mentioned and insurance.
  3. Yes. When you exit Thailand your 30 day stamp is done.. You can then reenter Thailand with and be issued a other 30 day visa exempt stamp. Be aware that flying visa exempt the airline at departure for flight to thailand may/will require an onward flight within 30 days. Check out "onwardticket.com for companies that can cover that with "rent a flight" https://aseannow.com/topic/1293995-proof-of-onward-travel/
  4. Yes. Think I misunderstood your point. I assume that you are aware of non O marriage and extension requirements. It only requires 400k for two months prior to application for annual extension. You can then withdrawal that whenever you want. Good deal.
  5. The thread is clearly about annual (12 month) extension. Very different animal to 30 day extension to visa exempt and tourist visa entries
  6. You are comparing two completely different things. A ME non O retirement visa (12 months ) cannot be obtained in Thailand. An extension to a non O retirement in Thailand would require embassy letter and 3 countries do not provide that. UK, USA, AU
  7. One option is to fly Bangkok to Udon Thani return. The minivan to Nong Khai is straight flat road under two hours. The money thing about flight is nonsense. Visa exempt entries via land have less scrutiny that entry via air and for the OP much better option.
  8. Two months prior.. Better plan would have been to obtain the TM30 earlier and have that in your paperwork. In that way you could make a booking which at CW which runs like clockwork. Allow enough time to do bank letter etc on lower level. For those with SCB account be aware they do not have branch at CW.
  9. You can enter visa exempt (30 day stamp) then apply for non O marriage. That would provide a 90 day permission of stay. Depending on how long you wish to stay in Thailand you also have option of 30 day extension in addition to 60 day extension to visit wife The non O based on marriage has requirements such as 400k in Thai bank in your name only on the day you apply.
  10. Not sure about Jomtien but some immigration offices want to see "activity in the account" on day of application. Best done with small deposit/withdrawal.
  11. OP, are you typing about obtaining a non O retirement. You arrived on visa exempt?
  12. OK. Makes sense. As we know extension to his 45 day visa exempt stamp will be 30 days. Thanks for explaining. I just skipped over OP post re the 2 weeks.
  13. What does that mean. Every visa exempt entry gives 30 day stamp. You can apply for extension. Normal that would be done in last couple of weeks of expiry of that stamp. The 30 day extension dates from expiry of current stamp. In other words that process gives 30+30 days.
  14. In that case your answer is post previous to yours. Suggest that you also make small deposit on day of application.
  15. I didn't understand your first post and also this one. You stated "border run for another visa" ? At a guess seems you reentered Thailand visa exempt? How did your partner have to pay fine? If you subsequently attended immigration for an extension then Immigration could place a fine. Generally that would be on you and usual fine 800b.
  16. Don't need to attend CW for TM30. Ask hotel for screenshot of filing TM30. When you attend immigration for extension take print out of TM30. What type of extension are you applying for. How did you enter Thailand? If visa exempt then you do attend Laksi immigration (IT Mall) . Edit: just noticed thread heading. Seems you entered visa exempt. You attend Laksi and provide TM30 screenshot print out at doc check..
  17. OP, which immigration office. Bank letter in theory should be accepted up to 7 days early. One day certainly..
  18. If you returned with new visa or visa exempt you would need to file a TM30. My guess is that you actually entered visa exempt.. Either way now TM30 necessary.
  19. Sounds like a workable plan. Suggest the last flight out and reenter better of with a land border run. Depends where you would be at that time in Thailand. As for Saigon v PP for me it's a no brainer. Saigon. BTW if you enter visa exempt and applying for extension in Bangkok you would use Laksi immigration (IT mall) and not CW.

  21. Lovely experience for your neighbours to front up. Ridiculous requirements that many farang would not tolerate. Good for you that you in a village with friendly neighbors
  22. What part did you not understand. For the benefit of forum readers what did your last home visit from immigration entail. It would be one positive contribution.
  23. Post your personal home visit experience to update forum. They vary from simple asking for kick back to just a casual greeting. Also from simple visit to asking for neighbors to be present. Post personal experience to contribute.
