That will work no problem. Being done all the time. The main reason being to kill off non O-A. In some cases, including yours, it can be to stuff up with the money in bank requirements. As I posted in another of your threads you could have opted to use agent for this extension and simultaneously meeting financials for following extension and doing that yourself.

4 month or open-ended visa choices ?
DrJack54 replied to chubby's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You would be stamped in for 60 days every time that you enter Thailand on a valid METV. Note that each entry can be extended by 30 days. What type of visa you opt for depends a lot on your long term plans. If indeed you plan to spend significant time in Thailand every year then a Non O retirement with subsequent extensions and reentry permit could be best option. However that requires you to maintain funds in Thai bank or use agent. -

DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This question has come up previously. One thread started by @spambot also wanted to obtain eVisa while in Vietnam to enter Thailand. Also another thread here. https://aseannow.com/topic/1265130-get-e-visa-when-out-of-the-uk/ -

Read OP posts. He is currently boarding flight to thailand. He cannot provide/show the 20k. He already stated that he has onward flight. Regarding rental contract that would actually harm his chances of entry. -
Paper visa vs E-visa from Ho Chi Minh
DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In your other thread I asked if you had an appointment at Thai consulate HCMC. You replied yes. Is your intention to obtain a eVisa for tourist visa for Thailand and use that to enter Thailand from Vietnam??. -

Paper visa vs E-visa from Ho Chi Minh
DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did one few weeks ago. Took exactly 3 business days. Weekends don't count. Apply on a (eg) Monday you should have it emailed to you Thurs. BTW don't panic ....you can use one of the agent firms and they offer different levels of express service but it ain't cheap. Here is link to one of many agents if you have issue https://vietnam-online.org/index.php/prepare-your-travel-to-vietnam-2022-202/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAo-yfBhD_ARIsANr56g7MvHf4ofTLEHxAkrVtmPG9Negc0vFCvdPB-zfy75Q02ocPrkDOs2oaAjY7EALw_wcB -

Tourist visa form questions
DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Was company in Pattaya and referring to Cambodia border? A flight to Vientiane or Udon Thani and reenter at friendship bridge would have been fine. However you have your Saigon trip in order so all good. Was there week ago. Ripper joint. -

You quoted the OP .... And this is what he stated.... "Yes I have an onward flight ticket" What bit didn't you understand. An onward flight means flight out of Thailand in the future. The OP has one. -

Good answers to both. One piece of advice. When questioned by immigration officer (may not be) .... Have a clear precise outline of your plans. Have hotel address on the ready to show. Book maybe ones pay at hotel . Don't bring a gf or other distractions into conversation. Have onward flight handy to show on screenshot etc Good luck. Think you will be fine. -

Tourist visa form questions
DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your flying to where in Vietnam. Saigon? Assume that you have made an appointment. They are required. Bit surprised you opted for tourist visa. You could border bounce for 45 days prior to march 31 and do a tourist visa in the future.
