Onward Ticket Question
DrJack54 replied to leosmith's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So why post something you know very little about. I fly out/in Thailand every month . Some routes, some low cost airlines 100% require onward fight if flying to Thailand visa exempt. Only accurate post you have stated is ..... " I don't know as it's never happened to me" Travel more and come up to speed. -
You posted in this attached thread. There are many similar threads. Boarding pass is often requested. In last couple of months I have done 2 trips to Vietnam and back. Boarding pass was requested upon arrival by the io both at DMK and Saigon airports.. https://aseannow.com/topic/1149307-immigration-now-require-incoming-boarding-pass/

New UK passport / 90 day
DrJack54 replied to lelapin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Can I jump in with off topic question here. Australian pp needing renewal. Can anyone recommend agent for passport renewal. Located Bangkok. Personally don't use agents but currently have reasons for pp renewal -
This should be main focus. Where to live is least of your concerns as easily sorted. BTW there is a travel forum that covers many/most areas of Thailand provided lots of helpful info. So for visa. A METV would give you 9 months. A non O and subsequent extension would give you almost 15 months. You mention "low on funds" so you could consider use of agents for the non O + extension. Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only? For a METV best to obtain that in AU..

Death of spouse effect on my marriage visa?
DrJack54 replied to trubrit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He certainly cannot buy the land past or future. He may have paid for house. Not the point. Currently married. Good guess that his wife would like him to remain in the home. Agreements to facilitate that are often done. What advice have you provided? As usual Nothing. -

You may wish to check with Phuket immigration. Usually stamps (eg reentry permit, extension etc) can only be transfered at office where they were issued. -
Onward Ticket Question
DrJack54 replied to leosmith's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
With a visa onward flight not required. The question is concerning visa exempt entry and the check some airlines require. -
A non O-A is a visa valid for 12 months and is multi entry. If you exit and reenter just prior to it's expiry you would be stamped in for a other 12 months. This effectively gives you 2 year stay. Yes it requires insurance for both years but an added bonus it that it does not require funds in Thai bank account. Annual extensions from a non O require insurance for retirement only. Not required for extensions based on marriage

Being from Oz I cannot provide income letter from embassy. Currently I am using funds in bank method. At the same time am doing monthly transfers and hoping to change to income as I will be able to show 12 months of transfers when my next extension is due. The difficulty I cannot show funds come from "pension" AU is very different to UK and USA

Taxation of Ex-Pats pensions etc.
DrJack54 replied to LittleBear57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
TBH when I saw you quoted me I did not expect your reply. Think post above mine from Mark Twain ..sums it up. So many threads and predictions prior to any changes. Bit unrelated but I have an aside saying.... Never impose a law that is difficult/Impossible to enforce. Anyway I don't concern myself with "what ifs" -

So 5 pages. Let's pray that a mod transfers to "General chat" or "Pub forum" It's so not related to this forum and full of unsubstantiated rubbish. -
Absolute nonsense. Take a flight Bangkok to Saigon you provide boarding pass along with pp. Same when return to Thailand.
