True. Be aware that is only for reporting in person. Does not apply to online and mail in.

What type of non O? Visa exempt entry is 45 days until March 31. You don't apply for visa exemption. It's given on entry.

TM30 after several hotel stays
DrJack54 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Happy to stand corrected. Thinking "notified period of stay" in the context of rule 2.2 refers to your permission of stay stamp. Not to be confused with " notification of address" (90 day report) So when someone exits Thailand and returns with reentry stamp their "notified period of stay" is protected and they do not need to file a TM30 if returning to their usual address. On the other hand if they returned on a new visa or visa exempt then they would need to file a TM30 even if returning to usual place of residence. There is no confusion with the intention of the change in rules June 2020. It was to do away with the need to file a TM30 for any trip out of province and also international travel for those expats living in Thailand. -
Question about multi-entry Non-O visa
DrJack54 replied to mixmediana's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Added note. As already pointed out each entry (while the visa is still valid) gives you a 90 day stamp. If you wish to remain longer you can obtain an extension 30 days and also an extension 60 days to visit wife. -
He means obtaining a non O retirement from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry. That is applied for 15 days + prior to expiry and has an under consideration period. Here is thread from Nov last year. https://aseannow.com/topic/1278429-travel-out-of-country-whilst-retirement-stamp-is-under-consideration/

Surely you would obtain a passport renewal immediately. Don't know about USA but Oz can pay express fee for quick turn around. June is quite some time away. Enough time to renew now? There is a recent thread regarding time for USA passport renewal. You can travel with both passports however it's a quick process to transfer stamps at immigration. This thread is Oct last year. https://aseannow.com/topic/1276059-us-passport-renewal-procedure/

As has been pointed out already the answer is NO. Fly visa exempt and you will be stamped in for 45 days. Take note of @zzzzz post. Best to have an onward or return return to show airline at departure. Ask in the thread about this if confused.. Coming from UK for only 2 weeks? Try and get more time. Long expensive flight for couple of weeks.

It's standard now for trips TO the airport.

Consecutive borders runs
DrJack54 replied to bongojules's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes you can however the amount of hassle may come down to the amount of time that you have spent in Thailand in recent times. Also the amount of time between visits. Outside your recent history in Thailand for better advice. -
Going from eg central plaza to airport is meter. That would hardly get to 100baht. The other way round is a fixed price.

DrJack54 replied to Hummin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
18th is day 1. 45 day count should be March 3. -
There was official announcement regarding that. Will do a search. A print out of that should be sufficient. Google search shows announcements to verify the change to 45 days till March 31.

TM30 after several hotel stays
DrJack54 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ask the owner to file a TM30 and take screenshot of that for you to show immigration. There is a recent thread regarding that rubbish office and their requirement to show a TM30 after travel etc. Sadly seems people have to put up with this at that office. -

Couple of weeks prior is best. There have been reports of given visa exempt stamp and obtaining the extension much earlier. Feb 3 expiry...you can go now. -
Yes proof of funds letter from bank
DrJack54 replied to jwest10's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Up to one week old should be accepted. If a particular immigration office does not then so be it. Most would accept letter obtained few days prior to application. -

DrJack54 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No. A TM30 should not be required. Why "technically you should.,."
