  1. Yes. Also ask landlord for screenshot of TM30 to take to immigration when you apply for your non O
  2. Up to you as the saying goes. Some folk obtain travel insurance and some not. Fact is it's not a requirement. personal choice. BTW the lady you refer to was a pillion involved in motor bike accident. Vast majority of travel insurance policies do not cover motor cycle accidents. Edit: my mistake about the person you refered to. You may recall young woman had spinal injury in Samui pool with a bar. Had insurance and the company refused. Said she was drunk.
  3. The OP has seen his papers handed in by agent and had photo taken. All is fine. Agent process very different to doing it yourself. The agent may wait till has certain number of passports to submit. Bit similar to waiting for minivan to fill. Also you were doing an extension. OP is applying for a non O
  4. Your home free. Now that you have mentioned that docs have been handed in there is no issue. Forget about your current permit expiry date. All under control.
  5. Easy to say don't worry but in this case thinking you are fine. Assuming agent has put your paperwork in there is an under consideration period and at that point the expiry of current permit doesn't come into play. You state that you provided everything means that you also met the financials. All good.
  6. There is no such thing as non O-A to non O conversion. Thinking you mean changed the reason for your extension from retirement to marriage. Very different.
  7. There is no such thing as non O-A to non O conversion. Thinking you mean changed the reason for your extension from retirement to marriage. Very different.
  8. Very unreasonable that they insisted on proof funds from overseas when it has been in Thai bank account for some years. Just being AH,s. The options you outline would work. Up to you what best suits. Depending if you have the funds to transfer from UK that would be simple option.
  9. For sure use a border run company from Pattaya to Cambodia.
  10. The OP stated "non formal" schools. He is looking for the usual scam and not a bona fide reason. Answer to the OP (joined same time as first post) ....yes possible for a year and comes at a cost.
  11. Given extension is based on marriage doubtful the OP would be using FD account as funds only need to be in account for 2 months prior + under consideration period. Some immigration officers like to see "activity" in the account on day of application for extension. Given the plan is to obtain bank letter on the day of application seems simple to make a deposit into account. The same clerk will do that.
  12. Easily done same day as application for extension. Suggest you attend bank and ask bank staff to make 100baht deposit along with provide bank letter also 100baht. Kindly ask clerk to photocopy this last page of bankbook and you can add that to the other pages that you have photocopied.
  13. You need to act quickly. Suggest contact an agent such as @ThaiVisaCentre They can assist with bank account. Since you have a non O already you are asking about assistance regarding 12 month extension. Cost would be approx 15k+ for the extension. Approx 5k for opening bank account. Since you already have a non O it is possible that Kasikorn bank would open a bank account without the need for a residence certificate.
  14. Obviously the PE elite visa was your best option. Think the 10 million (new property) real estate investment option still on the table. Is there a Thai bonds purchase also? You could consider a balance such as METV every year (9 months) in Thailand along with living in other locations such as Vietnam.
  15. Which immigration office? The correct answer is that no TM30 required and that would even be same answer if you spent a time out of Thailand. Some immigration offices have refused to acknowledge that the rules were changed 2019.
  16. For money in the bank method for both extensions based on marriage and retirement the funds do not need to be shown to have come from abroad. For an application for a non O retirement inside Thailand the 800k would need to be shown to come from abroad.
  17. You apply at the immigration office where you live. You require 15 days + remaining on your permit to apply. You should apply after your trip to KL. Presumably you will reenter on new visa exempt. With a visa exempt exempt entry you use a TM87 form visa application form instead of a TM86 change of visa status form.
  18. First up, as stated earlier, to start using the 800k the funds have to have been in your Thai bank for 2 months on day of application. Funds not required to be shown came from abroad. I use a dedicated bank account for immigration purposes and is definitely a good idea. Personally, I would continue with the 65k monthly deposits until the day of application. Overlap covers both options. Agree with earlier post that WISE is probably best option for international transfers. Edit: @Liquorice quoted you by mistake but will leave this post.
  19. As pointed out above...each entry into Thailand gives you 45 (normally 30) day stamp. You do not need a tourist visa. The Cambodian trip will provide a second visa exempt stamp. Is the plan to fly to Cambodia and return via air. If yes then you will need onward flight.
  20. Best to do the extension first. Then back to que desk to get # for the 90 day report. Good plan is to have an appointment for the extension. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=20131. My most recent extension at CW last Nov they wanted my TM47 receipt which was not asked for in previous years.
  21. Show them the same TM30 you used previously. The TM30 for Phuket should not be mentioned, if is , just say that you took short trip and now back Bangkok where you live.
  22. CW. You haven't considered online report. Works a treat. https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/register/add Or for matter mail in report. Better than trip to CW.
  23. True. One thing is for sure is that the time spent out of Thailand helps. Always surprises me that in the above example of a visa run to Hanoi or wherever and folk want/need to do it in short as time possible. Even those that have spent extended time in Thailand. If it was not for the visa exempt entry currently giving 45 days, I would have suggested doing the visa run to Hanoi first. The border bounces are not an issue unike refused entry at an airport and they are the safe bet. There have been reports pre covid of refused entry via air visa exempt and even couple having a tourist visa, however they were extreme examples of quick return.
