  1. For most the marriage option allows you to work and also the financials are far less onerous and of course for those under 50. For me the home visit along along with under consideration period would be enough reason to opt for based on retirement.
  2. That's where perhaps the confusion arose. Agents tend to use Bangkok Bank
  3. I vaguely recall that for the first cross over from based on marriage to based on retirement that you need to have your wife with you. Someone who has actually done this will be along. Of course the io will be happy with your change. Less work.
  4. Use your Kasikorn as you mention. Make sure it's increased to 800k 2 months prior to a application for extension based on retirement.
  5. I'm stating the rules. Not what some random io or office does. Previously a TM30 was required after returning from inter province AND travel outside of Thailand. Guess what. I have been in Thailand for 10 years and never ever done ONE TM30. I was dealing with CW and they were never strict on TM30. Point is my personal experience is irrelevant. I'm posting the rules. The need for TM30 for inter province and international travel was changed (think it was 2019)
  6. They are robots. I just returned from 2 weeks out of Thailand. Obviously no TM6. If I needed to do an extension today the tm6 would not be required.
  7. Haven't seen recent reports regarding Penang for multi entry non O. Here is a thread that also discusses alternatives such as HCMC and Savannakhet.
  8. Is extension based on marriage or retirement. You can obtain reentry permit at the same time as the new extension if it's retirement the date of application is when the extension starts.
  9. It does require appointment and read a recent report that there was a (not insignificant) wait time. Folk might need to plan.
  10. If you have an address on file (eg from 90 reports etc) there is no need to file a TM30 after trips abroad or inter province. Regardless if you do not go straight to your home. However if you return from abroad on a new visa or visa exempt you should file a TM30.. The laws regarding TM30 were changed few years ago.
  11. Very different. Don't Malaysians have unlimited land border entries? Also it's the Bangkok airports that sometimes have issues.
  12. 5 is way different to the OP 9. As stated earlier it depends on time out of Thailand. I suggest 3 to 6 back to back with only a couple of days out would be pure luck.
  13. You mention common visit for your wife For most farang a visa exempt flight from nearby countries would require an onward (return ) flight. What is your wife experience in this regard. With Indonesian pp I'm assume this is not required.
  14. Thinking Jomtien is 30 days (stand corrected) . For many office if you can provide flight out they can let you apply for extension early. Your extension will be granted overnight at Jomtien and you can buy reentry permit at Jomtien immigration or airport.
  15. Yes yes ...think we all aware of that. A border bounce or 60 day extension all cost money and more importantly inconvenience. Lot of blow hards on AseanNow. Personally I would just grease the wheels. Up to personal choice.
  16. British nationals do not need a visa to visit Malaysia. You will normally be given permission to stay for 3 months on arrival. from Google .
  17. 9th time in 2022 via air visa exempt That might be a record. Even oil gas guys on month on/off are being told to obtain a visa. The important thing with history of stays in Thailand is time sent in Thailand and time in between those visits. Your point? BTW You join 35 minutes ago make first post then exit thread.
  18. If you do not have Thai clients and can work online with your overseas customers then do nothing. Keep it to yourself. Of course that does not provide suitable visa to live in Thailand.
  19. You should be able to do that online. Remember to change passport # in the fill in fields. BTW don't overlook updating details of new pp with banks etc
  20. No. Most agents use Bangkok Bank. The cost will be 4-4.5k max. No insurance
  21. You have Reentry permit. No TM30 required.
