  1. Certainly 6 months in Thailand and 6 months in own country is very popular plan. Thinking there are already options for that such as METV or TV with extension and visa run for repeat. My reading of the OP was to use his plan ongoing visa exempt+non O wash and repeat for ongoing stay. Just a way to circumvent the rules.
  2. That has come up previously. I have zero reports to base this reply on so it's a blind shot. What you actually mean is visa exempt then with 800k in bank on day of application apply for non O retirement with no intention of obtaining a 12 month extension. Thinking immigration would perhaps accept one wash and repeat but it's obviously a scam to circumvent the intention of pathway to extensions based on retirement. There are some consulates (not many) that provide a ME Non O visa retirement. Valid for one year.
  3. Immigration checks the previous 12 months to make sure the rules for retirement were followed. As I posted earlier , yes the op could just maintain 400k for 2 months prior to next application based on marriage however immigration should check that he adhered to financial requirements for retirement for previous year. As stated...maintaining 800k up till application covers all.
  4. You can exit and reenter as often as like. No limit. Every time you reenter during validity of your visa you will be stamped in for 90 days. If I was married I would have this visa ongoing. Also zero funds in that bank. It's a ripper for those that travel outside of Thailand. You mention "obtain new extension " This visa is valid for 12 months and most folk obtain a new one upon it's expiry. You can move to extensions to a non O marriage however that's different. You need to work out if annual extensions to a non O with purchase of multi reentry permit is best fit OR ME non O marriage which you would obtain a new one every 15 months.
  5. You could have the 400k for 2 months prior as per the marriage rules for money in bank requirement. Personally I would maintain the 800k requirement. The fall back position being if any issue with extention marriage (there won't be) you could continue with the retirement option. Cover both bases.
  6. He could pay on exit at airport. 500per day. Think half the posters would suggest pay at airport and half suggest obtain the extension. As they say ",up to you" Would not effect future entries to thailand. Can cause issues with few overstays even if small for applications for PE elite visa.
  7. Most offices will allow you to pay the overstay and process the extension. So the fine would be 500baht per day overstay. If there a public holiday eg Jan 2nd think it's fine to apply Jan 3. Pretty foolish imo. You can apply for extensions couple of weeks early and the 30 days is added from date of expiry of current permit.
  8. OP, appears that you received a multi entry non O marriage visa that is valid for a year. You need to exit prior to your 90 day permit for a border bounce. You can obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife for each entry. You do not need to buy a reentry permit. Some do this and as result stay 150 days between exits. Time your last exit and reentry just prior to expiry and you will receive another 90 day permit.
  9. Best to renew pp. If you obtain an extension with existing pp it will have expiry date same as expiry of pp. Are you on 12 month extensions or a ME non O visa.
  10. That may be the case however there was a change (think 2019) as outlined here...... "2.2 After the house holder, owner or possessor of the premise of hotel manager has reported as defined in Article 2.1, the same alien has left the premise and returned for another stay within the valid period, the house holder, owner or possessor of the premise of hotel manager do not need to make another report;"... Previously any travel inter province and international required a filing of TM30 upon return. That is no longer required
  11. OP, assume that you have extension from a non O and not a multiple entry non O visa valid for a year. If it is a ME non O the visa would remain valid after divorce unlike a extension.
  12. You could change from based on marriage to based on having Thai child.
  13. As soon as divorce is finalized you need to exit. You can reenter no problem. If over 50 you could change to extention based on retirement.
  14. Read this thread. Rules are simple and clear. The fact that not all immigration offices and officers follow the rules is of no interest..
  15. Are you referring to a container? There are many threads on this. What amount of "personal goods" is involved.
  16. A border bounce means that you travel to land border ...eg Nong Khai and exit and turn around and reenter Thailand visa exempt. You are allowed 2 per calendar year Also you will not be over questioned compared to re-entering via air
  17. Bit off topic however perhaps useful info for anyone taking Thai partner to Japan. Thai receive 15 days visa exempt entry and the strange thing is the first day count starts next day after arrival.. Unlike Thailand and most other countries
  18. Yes with a METV you can return same day as you have a visa. I just assumed that your METV had expired. If you want to stay longer after expiry of your METV then you can do border bounce.
  19. That means you be returning visa exempt. I suggest the airline may require onward flight. Also depending on you recent stays in Thailand immigration on arrival may question you.
  20. Apparently it is acceptable as proven by the 1000,s that use agents. Your repeated legal/not legal is boring .
  21. Another expert. Not! The stamps provided by Thai immigration using agent are 100% legit. You are just repeating the rubbish that you read.
  22. Already stated short or even longer overstays have very little issue on returning to thailand. Note you opted for a tourist Evisa With visa exempt entry currently 45 days seems strange choice.
  23. Stated with so much pride. Who cares. It's an option. What interest of yours if someone chooses to use an agent. BTW : I do not. Personal choice. Move on.
  24. You are 100% correct and this often occurs in any thread to do with agents.. Some folk can't help themselves. Surprised thread hasn't been closed.
